knocks the door will be opened power in prayer seeking the lord there s power in prayer as we seek the lord and invite him into our lives and situations we can be confident that our petitions are heard and answered asking is an act of faith a recognition god is ready to respond to our needs and desires because we love him and want to build our relationship with him we often find ourselves devil has convinced people to believe that as christians we can glorify god by suffering from a physical illness or infirmity and not complaining about it misconceptions can sometimes take root leading believers down a path that leads us away from the truth of our relationship with god some people believe that god puts sickness on people to teach them a lesson if that s the case why would christians go to the doctors for treatment and medicine to cure what they think god put on them only the devil gets the glory and is satisfied when our bodies are weak god receives glory when we have the physical strength and health he intended us to have he wants us to be able to serve his kingdom and bless others you can read the new testament from front to back and you won t find any record of god getting praise because someone on a sickbed said they were suffering for jesus instead he received praise when someone had a testimony to share with the world 30 and large crowds came to him bringing with them those who were limping had impaired limbs were blind or were unable to speak and many others and they laid them down at his feet and he healed them 31 so the crowd was astonished as they saw those who were unable to speak talking those with impaired limbs restored those who were limping walking around and those who were blind seeing and they glorified the god of israel matthew 15 30 nas the glory in health not sickness it s healing not the sickness that glorifies god his way of teaching us is through his word not with sickness disease and suffering to say god makes people sick
