Text of the page (random words):
other the next day she was admitted back into hospital where i sat with her for the next five months until she passed i always think of the song miss you most at christmas time by mariah carey when i think of her she passed in may 2011 the wounds are still fresh but at least now i am able to scrap this picture without constant tears in my eyes miss you so much mom have so much to tell you i used the turtle dove collection from kaisercraft love this paper and just a few closeups of the layout i love prima resins the angel said it all for me with her heart in her hands i used my tim holtz markers to add a bit of color to her and one last pic not really happy with the way the title came out but it was so long i ended up cutting out the letters with my cameo and realized they looked too small so i used the outline of them as a stencil and used some modeling paste and scrapped the title through the stencil used tim holtz sticlkes to make it stand out well sure not going to get another layout done this year so i will end this post with a wish for everyone for a very safe and happy new year may all your wishes come true this year and may you meet your resolutions head on i know i will be be well tfl posted by langeatheart at 13 35 1 comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest saturday 22 december 2012 merry christmas memories well it s almost here the one day of the year where we prepare for days weeks months ahead of time for that special time where all else is put to the side and family and friends come together to celebrate life i did this layout for my mantel this year one of my favourite things are the ornaments on the tree that have special meaning for us hung with almost reverance i can sit in the dark room with my tree lit up and just stare and take it all in for hours each ornament a memory from days gone by the bird ornament decorates my sister s tree and i fell in love with it the minute i saw it and every year i take a picture of it the carosel is a noma ornament that turns it was my very first noma and each year i would by a new one now they don t make them anymore i guess i ll have to start making my own i love my dusty attic and use it on almost every layout i primed these music notes with gesso and then spray painted them gold to make them pop i used bo bunny s father christmas papers for this layout i stitched around the page with black and metallic thread to add that extra shine i used a sketch i saw on the ces t manifique site and loved the trees and banner this page commemorates 2012 i sometimes like to bunch up the paper in the corners of my layouts and fill them in with flowers and what not some of these embellies are years old and i thought it long past time that i used them a little bling from basic grey and one last shot i would like to wish everyone and very merry christmas and good cheer through the holidays be safe i would also like to send out my prayers to the families of the victims from the terrible tragedy that occurred at sandy hook school in connecticut you are constantly in my thoughts and prayers my heart breaks for you i have a grandaughter in kindergarden and when i think well i can t even bear to think i get tears in my eyes may the angels be with you now and always as you struggle to come to terms with your loss i will be lighting 26 white candles this christmas for you god bless pam ellis posted by langeatheart at 22 59 0 comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest wednesday 5 december 2012 my creative sketches moments this is the november sketch over at my creative sketches this is my interpretation of the sketch i used the limited edition kit from my creative scrapbooking kit club the kit is full of beautiful papers tea thyme from prima this is my oldest daughter ashley with her youngest emily at my wedding only two years old at the time emily did a fantastic job as one of my two flower girls i love this picture mommy reassuring her girl this quote from kaisercraft was perfect for this layout time is measured in minutes life is measured in moments how true i did a little bit of stamping on the page using a prima stamp set and my tim holtz markers i made my circle using the vintage floral punch from martha stewart and handstiched just inside the border i used a lablanche stamp and stamped inside the circle with embossing ink and then used white embossing powder i went over the dried image with a mauveish colored ink to bring out the image it is hard to see in this photo but it came out rather well the chipboard is of course dusty attic french flourish and was included with the kit i painted it with gesso then inked around the edges and finally used my word stamp and lightly stamped the entire piece the little bling in the middle is from websters accents that s it for me today so much to do this month it s overwhelming but oh how i love christmas have a terrific week and november this is the sketch at once upon a sketch for november there was no theme this month you just had to follow the sketch and include journalling i ve put my journalling on the back of my page this is my interpretation of the sketch my grandaughter lilly on her first day of school in senior kindergarden as you can tell she is quite the fashionista i remember holding her in my arms when she was born as if it was just yesterday time flies which is why i want to enjoy every precious moment with her that i can a close up of the flower cluster bottom left flowers are from prima petaloo and the cute cameo is of course from webster s i used girl land paper the cameo ribbon slider is from dusty attic i didn t have purple coloured bling so i used a copic marker and coloured my zva embellie purple i painted my alphas with metallic purple paint and then added pink paislee sparkles to bring out more this is a close up of the cluster top right corner i took the purple lollipop swirl from a webster s floral bouquet will use the rest on another project as well as the pink and purple blooms from the websters bloomers line the leaves are from dusty attic one last close up well it s another gorgeous day and it s november my poor husband is so waiting for the snow so he can get his sled out oh well i m off to enjoy the sun have a great day posted by langeatheart at 11 58 6 comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest sunday 18 november 2012 love dusty attic nov sketch challenge this is the november sketch at dusty attic and this is my interpretation of it my husband john and i taken on his 50th birthday instead of using a circle element on the corner of the page i used the dusty attic new heart flourish isn t is gorgeous i painted the flourish with a metallic copper paint to try to bring out some of the color in the papers this was made using the october main kit from my creative scrapbooking corner embellies included another flourish from da mini scrolls some prima flowers and some old brads from my stash again i painted the scroll with metallic copper paint at the top right corner i again used a da miniscroll and some prima well that s it for this post the weekend is coming to a close and hubby and i are going out for dinner with one of our daughters to celebrate his birthday which is actually today happy birthday sweetheart so lucky to have you take care posted by langeatheart at 13 32 0 comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest saturday 17 november 2012 bo bunny separate cluster challenge cherish over at bo bunny they are hosting a layout challenge involving the clustering technique the challenege asks that you have two separate clusters on your page wiith a least two photos this is my take on the challenge this is my grandaughter lilly when she was only eighteen months old checking out the flowers that were planted in her name the garden is full of a variety of lillies but these yellow ones were her favourite this is the first cluster on my page made up of homemade flowers along with some from prima and petaloo i love the little bird nests out from dusty attic and had to include one on this page i painted it brown for a base then went over it with distressing ink in tim holtz s scattered straw the eggs were done with robins blue and i added blue stickles to make them stand out more this is the second flower cluster again a mix of various flowers and also including a trinket from bo bunny s country garden line i love the soft colors of this line the rubon is also from bo bunny close up shots of the flowers i made by hand and with the help of my silhouette close up of the da bird nest and eggs another piece form dusty attic i painted the chipboard with gesso let it dry then inked it with the same blue i used on the paper when i was done i added sparkles to make it a little more showy to make the page more interesting i did a technique i saw a few weeks ago on the bo bunny site on resist stamping i stamped the page with two stamps one being the gorgeous flower from bo bunny s forever fall line with embossing ink and then added white embossing podwer over it i used my heat gun to dry i then went over the page with a medium blue ink to match the blue on lilly s jumper in the pics it didn t come out too bad for my first try the quote at the bottom of the page is from kaiser craft i love their quote sheets that are just full of a variety of different sayings on various topics one being childhood which i used on this page well the sun is shining today so i am heading out for a walk before the snow hits us have a terrific weekend and thanks for looking posted by langeatheart at 09 37 3 comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest wednesday 7 november 2012 scrapthat remember when sketch challenge the journey awakens the soul this is the gorgeous november sketch by amariyls over at the scrap that site t his is my interpretation of the sketch it is a bit different than what i usually do with my bright colors and tons of flowers but i was compelled by this picture of this old barn i did a light whitewash of my background added my pic and frame and few flowers and da to top it off to tone down the brown flowers i just went around the edges with some cream colored paint i kept the flowers to a muted tone to match the paper don t laugh but this is my first attempt at heat embossing i know right i ve been scrapping for quite awhile now and never gave it a try i broke down and bought an embossing gun rather than trying it with my hairdryer or my husband s heat gun i have to say i like the outcome but definitely need to practice this is the dusty attic grass border i painted it white and then went over the stems with tim holtz distress ink in brushed corduroy and the tips with frayed burlap it is really hard to see the colors in the pic but they came out nicely up close i am going to go out and enjoy the rare bit of sunshine we have even though it s cold so have a great day posted by langeatheart at 08 50 2 comments email this blogthis share love at first sight for me i did some masking on this layout with templates from prima the gorgeous flowers were also from prima this is a dusty attic piece arch window i painted in black and then went over it with a coat of gloss to bring out a nit of shine another two da pieces grass clusters and grass borders i painted them with green metallic copper and pink then went over them once they were dry with some stickles to make them stand out more just a close up of the grass cluster da piece i also did some masking in the opposing corners of the layout using a stencil included in the le
