the advantage of a new blog is that it s an opportunity to both simplify my tag system and make it more consistent loss of autofill tags really screwed me over on the old blog i was relying on that so resources books educational posts etc resources all links and recommendations to educational resources regardless of subject reading list all book recs and lists regardless of subject genre to read tag for me to indicate that i want to read things not necessarily a recommendation medlitres book recs links to resources etc for material relating to medieval literature particularly medieval irish fitter so i put my old pointe shoes on that i got in 2016 and damn either they did a shite job or my feet have entirely changed shape since 2016 it s probably a bit of both i seem to remember i tried on a lot of shoes and nothing fitted well but these were the best option but that doesn t mean they were a good option however it s also been ten years a bunch of hormonal bullshit multiple injuries and some significant lifestyle changes like only wearing barefoot shoes for the last two years so like no shit my feet are a different shape but anyway these are definitely too wide so they re not supporting me properly i m slipping down inside them but also the left foot is breaking too high so i am just not over my box on that foot i never was even before i had the permanent recurring achilles tendon issue that means i now can t compensate for it i ve videos of me from last time i took class in them in 2019 and i m clearly not over on the left and it s not my foot it s the shoe they are a really hard shoe which i needed cos i used to break my old ones instantly but i did not ever break in the left foot apparently but i think it s also because they re too wide so my foot is slipping so the break is too high and it s worse on the left bc that s my smaller foot i think also all the elastics and ribbons are wrong and again maybe i just sewed them wrong but i think this might be a sign that my feet and ankles have changed shape a lot lol anyway if i ever went back to pointe i would need new shoes this is unlikely to happen but it s good to know i guess posted on sep enrolling it s completely opaque everything that is not currently open is hidden from their website entirely so you can t even get a sense of what s sometimes available that you just can t do right now search engines will get you nowhere and frankly the only reason i knew to take a course with them in the first place is because one of my writer friends was doing one and posted about it on instagram and encouraged me to sign up too though we ended up on different courses like where was the marketing and there is nothing anywhere about cardiff s summer intensives i only know they exist
