isn t edwin the cutest i m including a lot of photos please let me know if it takes too long to load and i ll fix it for future viewers he s layered of course i also layered the sign it s hard to see but the sword handle and the bottom roll are both popped off the base layer the sword and the skull and crossbones are covered in glossy accents i colored skin tones with copics and the rest with edwin prismacolor pencils thursday october 28 2010 mummy edwin hello blogger friends i want to share one of the commissioned cards i made last week i needed to make three magnolia card for boys and it was challenging to find edwins i like i saw mummy edwin and could immediately see him done up in my customary layers like the mummy wrap detail on the left it s a direct rip from the fabulously talented corry on a post she made at the incredible compilation blog steel magnolias that s where i found the inspiration thanks corry you are brilliant i made this with my customer s young grandson in mind the boo charm glows in the dark i used the cuttlebug dot embossing folder on the polka dot paper hmm maybe an odd decision and dabbed star dust stickles on the raised dots the layering was challenging to say the least the two layers on his left leg don t look as odd in real life as they do in this photo flaws are always amplified in these photos i barely colored the edges with a light warm gray prismacolor pencil just to give a shadowed effect here s the inside panel i like love the easel style card and prefer to tuck the signature panel behind the easel i have three more cards and october 27 2010 woyww yay i finally remembered to play with the what s on your workdesk wednesday before the end of the day it always seems that i remember too late or i can t bear to reveal the mess today i don t care plus it s not too bad i have to admit that this is really not how i work normally in the wee hours of wednesday morning i got in a 2am tizzy and cleaned up a bit so i m working on my clp design team card monday starts a new challenge and those of you who know me will be shocked that i m working on it so early hey the queen of procrastination might be losing her crown natch tagged woyww monday october 18 2010 tbs dt dracula edwin hello hello it s monday and you know what that means it s my day to show you a beary sweet challenge inspired sample our bsc 12 challenge is to use misting on your project and i ve glimmer mist d the heck outta dracula edwin and his lair no it s not garlic flavored glimmer mist i d like to keep this little cutie around for a while but he s already spoken for sigh i did the usual with pearl glimmer mist spritzed the flowers except the velvet petaloo black branches and vintage vampire fang tag the best part of my misting though is the dry embossed coffin i dipped a teeny tiny paint brush into the glimmer mist bottle and painted the embossing how cool is that i also painted edwin s bow tie purple cape trim and shoe strings i really like of a surprise i knew it was going to get cold but i forgot how october can be here that s what sweaters are for though i love a warm cozy sweater this week the beary scrap s design team is bringing you projects created with a halloween theme click here for the current beary sweet sketch challenge it s a fun one the most important thing i can tell you about my card is this it kicked my butt haha i ve been admiring stamp free cards lately and decided to give it a go myself honestly it felt a little like my very early card making days and it was uncomfortable but i stepped out of my current style box and tried something different about which i m very happy the end result eh but i tried i used a ton of product and still let the paper tell the story i like that the card is a combination of cosmo cricket s haunted in store only and my mind s eye halloween wishes i ve gone and used black card stock as my base once again it s a trend this swirl is part of pink paislee s artisan elements pack they are paintable swirls and bits that you can spritz or paint to match your project love i dripped a little black soot distress ink onto the swirl and tilted it around until it covered the whole element it took a long time to dry but it was worth the wait the cream and black diamond paper was embossed with a cuttlebug folder and randomly inked with charcoal chalk ink to give the hint of dark i decided it needed more so i sprayed too much pearl glimmer mist all over if i planned this out i would have sprayed with gm then embossed and inked i was worried that i would lose my embossing when the paper was wet luckily no phew boo started out as unfinished die cut letters i dripped slate alcohol ink the closest to black i have on each letter to give it a dark base and set it aside to dry once it was ready i layered black stickles to cover completely and set aside once again it s very sparkly card recipe paper bazzill basics raven cosmo cricket haunted available in store or on the
