to cut 9 photo frames and document out trip to venice in december i fill six from the frames with pictures and one with journaling i hand stitched the first frame for a litte detail in my page hope with you today with a new 3 to inspire challenge i end december with a simply spread and our cool winter collection oh what fun and here are three things that inspired me to create this beauty 1 stamps to create a title 2 journaling on vellum 3 dots and tiny stamps for accents so here we are to create the title i used our amazing stamps sets ginger upper ginger lower alhpabet and christmas tag and i just adore it because it s just countless options by the way you can also find the ink that i used in the сtk shop it s a detail black and indian summer by pinkfresh studio i love big photos but i love adding journaling and embellishments to them even more and vellum does the job perfectly i used our incredible die cuts from oh what fun kit and a few accents from last year s jingle all the way to create the vellum cluster and i lllove these tiny stars stamps here the star with the number was too bulky so i cut its thickness almost in half with my craft knife perfect here i used our late to pull out those christmas supplies and make a few gift tags to elevate your gift giving handmade touches in my mind at least really make a gift special and a handmade tag like the ones below do the job well and if the holiday celebrations are over for you one gift i ve given myself in the past is to prep some christmas crafts for the coming year it s such a nice surprise when digging out holiday wrapping supplies and seeing that i took the time to prep some gift tags in advance my three challenges today are make gift tags reuse packaging add some dimension or texture for these tags i noticed that so many of the background packaging in the oh what fun kit were super cute and i didn t want them to go to waste these packaging inserts work perfect for tags since they re usually a heavier cardstock you ll notice i also reused the glassine bag that packaged the kit ephemera this made a fun pocket to house a bigger tag and some more embellishing i had a few extra christmas products on hand from the ctk shop that i worked in to add some dimension i used chipboard numbered stars on the first tag along with stamps from the 2023 kit on the second tag i used some puffy stickers and my sewing machine to help hold them in place and add extra texture and the third tag got some die cuts and stickers on the outside and layered florals overtop of thread on the inside piece i also used a beautiful puffy sticker on the florals for a sweet message i hope these tags inspire you to try one or even all three of the challenges with your christmas stash making gift tags is a very fun and creative one here is the sketch we will be using i loved the evergreen trees on this page my original plan was to follow the sketch almost exactly after making my trees i liked them so much i did not want to cover them up i therefore adjusted the sketch slightly here is my final layout i made the main page 7in wide by 8 25in tall to fit in my december album this year to include a longer story and more embellishing i added two 3x4 journaling cards to the left side of the layout i used two citrus twist exclusive cut files for my trees all the papers cards and embellishments came from the oh what fun kit i think the black and white color palette with a pop of red is such an elegant look i made sure to pull a bit of red into each area of the spread i used a white glitter texture paste from my stash to paint the center tree similar to the sketch i wanted it to have a snow flocked look i then used a red marker to color in the stars on the cut file it was a simple step fun oh what fun kit sunday sketch sunday sketch challenge location woodway wa 98020 usa saturday december 16 2023 3 to inspire with desiree lamar happy holidays scrappy friends i am sharing this week s 3 to inspire challenge using the oh what fun christmas kit for this challenge i used ribbon floral die cuts and phrase die cuts or stickers here s my layout i kept it pretty simple with two large clusters i started with white cardstock on a simple patterned base my goal was to incorporate the ribbon into the page i decided to wrap it around each corner like a gift i chose this blue velvet ribbon from the oh what fun kit that has sticker backing the light pastel color of the ribbon inspired me to keep my whole page light so i reached for soft colored florals from the winter florals ephemera pack the florals were perfect to layer on my clusters i added doilies and 6x8 5 papers from the oh what fun kit to complete my clusters there were so many gorgeous titles to choose from in the oh what fun icon ephemera pack i decided to do a double phrase with love and good cheer i love how the colors echoed the colors in the layout my layout felt very light and airy to ground it and give it contrast i splattered black paint throughout the page this layout left me feeling all the good cheer i think my favorite part is the ribbon thank you so much for following along with me today
