age studies and they really love it there and the people they are more than an impressive couple i have to say we have missed there presence at our church so much 5 thankful that things are moving along well at our daughter and son in loves home as they are doing some additions to their home as well so they have a lot of changes and disruptions going on where soon they want be able to be in their home at times that s why i say we feel like we are living in an hgtv show lol it is making for a very interesting fun and exciting time for all of us 6 thankful that there is a god and that he is in control of everything even when it doesn t seem possible 7 thankful for a new book i am reading that someone said really impacted their life so will let you know about it once i finish 8 thankful for our sweet neighbors that bring us vegetable soup every so often their timing was perfect we were helping our son today so it was nice to come home to her yummy soup 9 thankful we are having company this week end and we are very excitedly looking forward to it will tell you about it next week 10 thankful that we have figured out dinner menus for the weekend just have to get the food in now 11 thankful to see a cute bunny with a white cotton tail in our son s backyard a few days ago lil darling will love that so hope he shows up on a regular basis all our bunnies are completely brown so it was fun to see one with a white tail 12 thankful that our guest bed and bathroom are all ready for our company and meals are all planned just need to get groceries note that is thursday august 27 2026 and cute doggies o lord i love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells psalm 26 8 niv evening sweet friends a little bit late but hope you have all had a lovely week it has been dreary and rainy here all week but our grass and plants are sure loving it everything looks so nice green and lush been an exciting week as we have seen so many changes in the house pictures today are of cute doggies compliments of pixabay so on with my thankfuls 1 thankful for caroline leavitt former white house press secretary she is such a wonderful christian young lady she represents the lord very well and pres trump and cabinet and seems like such a quality person in all that she does glad she was able to go home and take care of her new baby and be with her family after all her amazing work at the white house 2 thankful for funny facebook reels about dogs they are usually hilarious and who doesn t need a good laugh 3 thankful for what we call campfire hamburger and you can make it with chicken as well we actually got the idea from cracker barrel some years back and it is easy and delicious recipe it is so easy take a large pc of heavy duty aluminum foil and lay it flat on the ocunter then add a hamburger pattie or chicken breast on top i do season it first with granulated garlic and lawry s seasoned salt then cut potatoes onions bell peppers celery or whatever veggies you would like and put it on top of the meat then just wrap it up so that it is totally wrapped in foil and pop it in the oven at 350 degrees for about an hour take it out of the oven and unwrap it a lil and stick a fork in the veggies to make sure they are fork tender when done put the foil pouch on a plate eat and enjoy the easy yet delicious dinner then throw away the foil leftover for no cleanup enjoy 4 thankful on sat when we went to susan s the floors were completely done and it looks fabulous so we are all overjoyed the electrical stuff is all completed as well and the dry wall man will be coming this thurs to fix the ceiling where they took the wall out move in coming soon looks like a dog hubby and i got when we were in germany 50 yrs ago his name was rookie and he was such a wonderful lil dog 5 thankful we got more painting done lil darling and i got the foyer and living room and cleaned some windows hubby and our son got the potty put back in the bathroom which gave them a run for their money but they finally figured it out when the grout dries in the other bathroom they will put the other one back in hubby got lil darlings new fan put up and our son will have to finish putting the fan blades on our son got the glue off of where he took down the wallpaper along with taping drop clothes and doing trim paint so we were a busy crew no slackers here lol 6 thankful that lil darling is such a good painter i did not expect that since this was her first time to do it she really likes doing it too which has been great cause sometimes she has to get the low places for me cause bending over too much is still an issue for me 7 thankful that our son has already been moving things over lil by lil this week so hopefully that will make next friday a bit easier 8 thankful we all got to have dinner together after all our hard work i always try to make something for dinner cause just another way to help cause we are all tired dirty and starving afterwards 9 thankful the lord got something straightened out very quickly on a tax form for susans house that was very wrong pays to pray about these things folks 10 thankful that this whole situation has been such a great bonding experience for our whole family we truly have felt so blessed 11 thankful we got started and got some wallpaper stripped in the guest bathroom at susans hubby went again today and got more done slow going but going lol 12 thankful the dry wall man came today and it is looking good he will be back tomorrow to finish he is a friend from our church so we were happy to have him do it as we knew he would do an excellent job can t wait to see the finished product tomorrow well that s it for cozy place this week this is another edition of the 1 niv happy thursday sweet friends hope you and you family have had a good week know some of you have already sent your children back to school or will soon be doing that so hoping they are enjoying the new school year little darling started back last week and she seems to be liking the new year and volley ball so far which is great pictures today are of whimsical houses compliments of pixabay now on with my thankfuls 1 thankful for leslie sansone walking videos you can find on utube been using her videos for years at least it gets me moving but at my own pace 2 thankful for a really precious and sweet text from a young friend who has a great heart it was so encouraging it made me puddle up good tears of course she definitely has the gift of encouragement 3 thankful we got some more painting done at susan s house on saturday i wasn t as energetic as i have been for some reason this i might have been trying to catch a bug or something 4 thankful for our relatively new younger pastor he is doing such a great job and preaching on some hard topics that a lot of people would probably rather not hear but doing it with great grace 5 thankful for our lovely daughter today is her birthday and we couldn t be any prouder or feel more blessed because of her she is 42 yrs old now hard for this mama to believe lol 6 thankful our son decided not to stay for dinner after working at susans as the plan was to have chicken and dumplings but when i made the dumplings something was evidently off with the bisquick either it was too old even tho we just bought it a few weeks ago or they forgot to put some ingredients like baking powder or soda in it and it didn t look right as i was mixing it and it didn t look right as i was cooking them and made the worst doughy dumplings so we were a bit disappointed cause we haven t had that in awhile so we wound up getting taco bell lol and we were thankful taco bell is just up the street lol 7 thankful my step brother sent me pictures off zillow of the home we lived in years ago it was completely re done many years back and pretty much doesn t look the same inside as it did when we lived there but it was fun taking a stroll down memory lane and trying to remember where things used to be still looks the same on the outside only fresher with new paint and giant trees in the yard 8 thankful our girl had a nice birthday at their lake house without having to work there this time they are usually taking care of things that need to be done to keep it looking great for their vacation renters so this time they just get to have fun the whole time and they are also getting to spend time with her hubbies parents as well 9 thankful that our son dropped by today and told us all the new things that have gotten done this week at susan s the floors are about 3 4 s of the way done he finished getting some wallpaper down in what will be his office and he has been packing things he doesn t need and started bringing them over to the house also got a fan for lil darlings room move in day is coming soon it is fun to get excited with him 10 thankful that i got to talk with my friend who had the esophageal problem she is coming along since getting home from the hospital and then being in the hospital again after having a fall and broken ribs she is able to get around some which is truly miraculous and she is quite an inspiration as always she is a long time friend of 40 yrs and we pray for her many times a day and she also prays for us too 11 thankful for those who ask about me and pray for me too they are such a blessing to me and hubby we are believing the lord for total healing one of these days hopefully soon but grateful that i am doing as well as i am 12 thankful for a good annual physical visit with hubbies cardiologist this week ekg was fine as well as other things they look for but it isn t complete yet still has to get blood work and an echocardiogram then wait for results next month well that s it
