shocked to see lgb venues squeezed up one side road as well as so few lgb people i spoke to a friend about it and he said most lgb people have moved to cities i work in cities and i live near a city i notice very high numbers of lgb people especially females in the cities i work in however what can also affect the demographics i see could be when the artist or band who are playing at the festival or venue are lgb lgb artists or bands are more likely to have lgb fans however even when the event is not explicitly lgb and the act is not lgb i still notice a large number of lesbian and bisexual women in attendance when the festival or act is white or east asian when the act is black or south east asian i see almost no lgb people in attendance my experience of having moved to a city is that i have far better opportunities and physical safety in the city compared to all the northern towns i have lived in and compared to edinburgh where the homophobia in the nhs was open and blatant both from the nursing staff and management as well as from patients female patients refused to let me help them wash and dress because i m lgb in the workplaces i was in in towns and edinburgh i had zero respect given to me in the workplace here in the english city i now live in i am spoken to with respect i am offered training to climb the ladder which i have never had before and people in general are nice to me in the street yes i hear homophobia almost always from black females shouting homophobic insults to the entire street most white people in the city have no issue with lgb people in cities lgb people hold hands with same sex partners not many men but it is common to see female couples holding hands in the street all of the cities in the uk are now racially diverse as well as diverse in sexual orientation i have black lesbian colleagues and friends they are shunned by other black people they band together in uk cities there are expected behaviours and thought patterns among black people and that includes homophobia or anti lgb prejudice and discrimination i have encountered it first hand several times since moving to this city some of my family members are black africans i have a lot of african and some black british workmates and there is no issue at all but there is a problem in the city especially with black people who are born in the uk there is homophobia since lgb people and black british have both flooded to uk cities we are storing up problems for the future unless black british people just learn to accept some people are lgb and move on with their own lives if black people don t let lgb people get on with living our lives there will be cultural clashes there are far fewer lgb people than black people in our cities it is lgb people who will suffer if there are homophobic attacks and more and that is worrying as an lgb person as an lgb person who endured many homophobic attacks in the street in the 90s and who has experienced a lot of workplace discrimination and friends no longer being interested in being friends when they have new straight friendship groups i can see why lgb people band together and move into the same areas to live work in the same places work for the same companies and go to the same events it is safety in numbers also most people want to be around people who are more like themselves in terms of protected characteristics we have some things in common and we feel able to relax and be ourselves more do i think there are more lgb people today i think some people have come out who in the past did not i have been told by a number of women that they are actually attracted to men and women they are bisexual but they have never acted on their feelings towards women and would never come out as bisexual so i know some people do not come out for whatever reason so i think due to greater acceptance more people are able to say yes i m lgb than they did in the past i think there is some identifying into lgb as a way to have power have the right to speak in the age of woke even though woke is starting to wane if people are not black or brown and if they do not have a peg leg the only way they can compete in the oppression olympics is to pretend to be lgb so they are heterosexual but claim to be bisexual i think there is some social contagion i spoke in the past about a young female who was clearly emotionally dependent on the first person male or female who says hi to her and she identified as lesbian even though she had no personal history of being attracted to women nor of the gender atypical behaviours and psychology that lgb people tend to have she said when two of her female friends became a couple she said that s it she assumed she was a lesbian too even though she never spoke of having had any same sex attraction before her eureka moment we know from lisa littman s work on trans social contagion that females will forgo their own thoughts beliefs and behaviours to be part of a group and to be accepted by other females we also know that men and women might be attracted to one person of the same sex and be in a sexual relationship with that one person but they are not attracted to anyone else of the same sex that is a clear sign of emotional dependency not of a person being lgb i think there is definitely some social contagion involved in the percentages and numbers of lgb people increasing i think there is some label hugging going on to appear to be interesting and special i think there has been an increase in rape and sexual abuse due to gang related behaviours social media the dark web and phone chat groups facilitating paedophile rings as well as the rape gangs across the uk and an increase in rape due to migrants who think it is normal to rape women men boys and girls refugee charities asked for women and children to be moved out of the migrant hotels and accommodations because of the rapes in the hotels and accommodations that s the refugee charities who are on the side of the migrants saying that the migrants have a high rate of rape when women and girls have been raped or sexually abused some do turn to women for love and are terrified or sickened at the idea of a man being anywhere near them when a boy or man is raped by a man or men he sometimes develops a sort of homosexuality ocd a strange obsession with men that they never had before the attack or abuse sexual abuse and rape affect a person s sexual orientation and sexual behaviour of course they do it is totally understandable so i think there is an increase in rape and sexual abuse in the uk and as a result there is an increase in some people becoming lgb as a trauma response i think there is an increase in absent parents both the mother and the father either completely absent from the home or emotionally absent i have seen babies do everything they can think of to attract their mummy s attention throw things clap laugh and nothing works mummy is on her phone and is totally ignoring the baby that baby is learning that mummy doesn t care i have examined the mother wound and absent fathers leading to same sex attraction in previous blog posts i think an increase in emotionally absent parents and absent fathers is causing an increase in lgb what can be done to help lgb people first therapy get therapy for any wound in your life the purpose of getting therapy is to sort through issues so that you are able to relate to yourself better and able to relate to others better if you are religious then you can learn through sorting through issues to relate to god better going forward in your life without trauma or emotional unmet needs holding you back is what therapy is about when i say trauma i mean childhood abuse rape kidnapping things that lgb people suffer from at over double the rate of heterosexual people second get a hobby being lgb is not who you are it is a small part of you that does inform and affect other parts of your life but is not the whole of who you are a lot of lgb people have diverse hobbies i think especially bisexual people who grow up bisexual are just used to attraction and it doesn t bother a lot of us many of us grow up not using pronouns when we talk about other people or being attracted to people we will say things like when i like someone or what sort of people are you attracted to we don t say men or women it s just natural for us to not even think about pronouns or gendered differences i was chatting with a nigerian colleague i get on well with and he said he was going to get a certain face cream to be even more attractive i said he would be very beautiful he stopped and said no i am not beautiful i am a man i apologised and explained i don t think in those terms and i said he would be very handsome and our conversation continued my experience of bisexual people is we are just very interested in people not particularly in sex or relationships but we are interested in humanity and we usually have a wide range of hobbies such as bat watching or duo lingo screenshot i am a christian and so my identity is in christ not in who i am attracted to feelings
