on my hard drive a bit like all those physical products and papers that are sitting and collecting dust in my craft cupboard so i am hoping to start going back and using some of the older digi files from time to time here s the left hand side with easter only weeks away i had become rather addicted to the humble hot cross bun i have to admit i am now missing them post easter as a quick tasty and maybe not so healthy breakfast and mid morning snack they were never really on my radar until this year but i certainly made up for it and figured it needed to be noted oh they look so delicious in this photo my mouth is watering just looking at and writing about them tuesday of this week was harmony day at school and as always was a great fun day of fostering cultural diversity understanding and acceptance something that is becoming so important in our current social climate i love these hands that all the children made and then installed around the perimeter of our school hall area my kindy s did theirs with our older buddy class which in itself was a fun experience and relationship building all in the spirit of working together in harmony this photo does not do full justice to the beauty of the sunrise on wednesday morning upon dropping lilly off at before school care the carpark of the school has the most awesome viewpoint from which to take in our own section of the grose valley in the blue mountains and the sun rises of late have been spectacular but i never seem to be able to capture their true beauty but i guess when it is a photo of a photo some of the beauty is bound to be lost so you will just have to take my word for it i also love the cute cloud and sun embellishments i was able to layer from both the collections used this week now for the right hand page how can i not choose a photo of my lilly as one of my favourites on this page the journalling says it all when you find your parrot inside the rabbit cage eating the rabbit s food well what else can you do but take a photo and as i type this young fellow is sitting behind me chatting and talking up a storm as he does when he thinks no one is listening we are quite outnumbered by our furry feathered and reptilian family members but we would not have it any other way as they bring us such joy and this guy definitely thinks he is the alpha male of the family with the rest of us simply members of his flock and lastly i have included this one as i love how the diagonal journaling turned out on this striped card which is actually a patterned paper clipped to size i have seen lots of physical pl ers do this diagonal journalling and always loved how it looked so this week i decided to give it a go and so glad that i did get ready to see it on future pages and here is the completed spread as a whole i love how it all came together i also love how i can create a different look for each week by using collections from all my different favourite designers and new ones as they come onto my radar working digitally allows me such endless possibilities and an ever increasing world of awesome collections which can work solo or be combined seamlessly with other collections and those then 0 comments project life week 11 5 4 2015 6 comments after finding out this morning that my car has been written off after an accident i had last week and subsequently spending the day on the net looking for a new second hand car i need a much welcomed distraction from everything car related and so have decided to share my week 11 with you which i finished last night dealing with insurance companies car dealerships and an internet service which is frustrating at best pl is a much nicer thing to occupy oneself with in putting this week together i started with the photos as always as they are the core of what pl is all about but i went with a different approach in selecting the designer and collection i wanted to use usually i will look at the photos and then through my digi stash to find a collection that complements the dominant colours in the photos this can be a long process at times as my stash is quite extensive and just seems to multiply before my eyes at times one should not sit on the net into the wee hours of the morning as a bit of cyber retail therapy can be dangerous instead with this week i chose the kit before even looking for and placing the photos as it was just jaimee s march storyteller bryce collection which had been sitting in my download folder crying out to be used i had already decided it was an awesome kit before playing with it but fell even more in love once i started creating my pages the colours are some of my favourites especially the dominance of red and the elements are just divine with perfect journal cards word art washi tape and other embellishments i love how the kit just works with my photos and this is definitely one of my favourite layouts for 2015 well until another takes its place but the bar has been set rather high so lets begin as always with the left hand side page you will have to excuse the filler card placed over the upper right photo as it is of me enjoying an outdoor activity with my class so for obvious privacy reasons it cannot be displayed here but the photo has lots of yellow green and red in it and so is the perfect inclusion and was a lovely moment with the kidlets on monday of this week k surprised me with one of our much loved twilight picnics at one of our favourite local spots wentworth falls lake it was a lovely mild afternoon evening and a lovely end to a hectic monday at school not having to cook was even better as i was not feeling well i love this photo of my two beloveds being silly as per normal i am so glad that they have both simply accepted that photos are a part of our daily lives and that it is easier to go with me than fight against me and the chosen embellishments were just perfect for how this photo makes me feel and the moment it captures and just a gorgeous snapshot of the lake itself just so peaceful and beautiful and for the right hand side page i decided with this week to play with more product and be a little more scrappy than i normally am with incorporating my images i love how this and the card above turned out with the cropping of the images and added layering of elements and journalling being a digi gal i do sometimes miss the creative process of playing with paper and physical product and so getting more scrappy with the digi supplies certainly helps overcome this longing and let s face it it is much easier faster and less messy than if i did actually play with similar physical product i also love the spider web in this photos as it was just stunning with the covering of dew drops and how they glistened with the morning sunlight sunday of this week saw k depart for auckland nz for 12 days on work commitments to say that this was going to present me with some challenges is and was an understatement i am definitely not made of single parenthood despite having a thoughtful and well behaved daughter i knew i would certainly miss his presence and support so it was hard to say goodbye at the airport gates and walk away i love this image as it captured these two having one of their in depth chats i cannot remember the exact topic but i do remember how much i enjoyed just sitting back and listening to them share and chat something we would all miss over the period of time he would be away and this is just a shot of the planes awaiting departure i took this photo with negative space in mind knowing that i would want to journal directly onto the photo as i have i like when i can do this as it frees up the journal cards for extra details and stories and that brings us to the layout as a whole but the week does not end there on the saturday we had a family day out at featherdale wildlife park it was a lovely day out just the three of us and a bunch of amazing animals the park is more interactive than traditional zoos and parks and so we got to interact with many of the animals and the weather was perfect all of this adding up to lots of photos shot on my trusty iphone 6 and therefore a design g insert for the day the insert came together so easily with great photos and the awesome bryce collection by jaimee i especially love the selfie of the three of us that we randomly snapped these selfies are very quickly becoming my favourites for their spontaneity and the fact that the three of us are present and accounted for well that s enough from me for now thanks for stopping by and comments project life week 10 4 4 2015 0 comments well if you are on a roll you should just go with it so here i am on what has been a very soggy easter saturday sharing week 10 of my pl journey which i completed this week like week 9 it was another hard slog getting the pages to come together but i do believe that this was once again due to me overthinking every detail in the pursuit of perfection but once i let go of such a need i was able to see the process to it completion and be happy with the final product i have to continually remind myself that perfection is not the ultimate goal rather it is the captured moments stories and memories once again i am truly blessed to be working with some awesome designers through my pl journey this week represents such a privilege as i got to create with the newly released pocket starts explore collection by becca of tickled pink studio becca s collection are always defined by beautiful colour palettes simple embellishments and clean designs i also drew upon her everyday collection for extra inspiration and embellishments i found that with week 10 as with previous weeks i was light on photos and therefore did not have as many as i would have liked to choose from but lucky i had enough and the ones i did have were of the key stories and moments of the week in such light weeks i have had to embrace the 4x6 filler card as an acceptable and viable option without further ado here is the left hand side beginning of the week i love this image of my daughter lilly she has recently rediscovered her love of all things little and compact and is more often than not found playing with her little pet shops shopkins and the like i love sitting watching and listening to her play witnessing her own creativity and imagination at play i have included the next two images as examples of what you can do when you cannot find the exact journal or filler card that you are looking for both the so fun journal card and the be true to you filler many different elements as you like and never exhaust the supplies or options i also love the retroness of the green floral design on this filler card not to mention the awesome quote reminding us of the endless possibilities that life holds for us now for the other half of the week such is my life of an afternoon i think i need to clean my windscreen though some much needed fresh air family time on sunday morning k has spent quite a bit of time away with work of late so it is nice seeing these two share time together there was much laughter coming from the backyard during this game of tennis that i just had to go and see what the fun was all about i even joined in but of course as the photographer of the family it was not captured probably a good thing as i am not overly gifted in the coordination stakes but it is after all all about enjoying the little things it was this theme of enjoying the little things which drew me to this quote that i stole off a filler card in becca s everyday collection this idea of the little things being truly big things is something that has resonated with myself and k of late especially where lilly is concerned as she is growing up too quickly and things such as family tennis in the backyard will lose their appeal before we know it i have to constantly remind myself that we truly must enjoy our now so that we don t live with regret in the moments with my family and friends i used the lovely hello crafter collections by miss mint of peppermint creative to put the week together another gorgeous collection of elements cards and digital goodies i love the colour palette that runs through all of miss mint s hello collections its so clean simple and fresh and her collections are always full of quirky goodies that make me smile here is
