revamp this year we re bringing everyone together for one awesome concentrated all ages costume contest in the past we split the competition between saturday for costumers ages 14 and sunday for those 13 and under but this year we re throwing out the age brackets and putting everyone in the same contest if you ve got a great retro costume no matter your age or skillset we want to see it hosted as always by our good friend eric the smoke moran the contest kicks off at 12 30pm on saturday september 12th in our event panel room no sign ups are required just show up in costume about 15 minutes before the contest start time so we can get everyone lined up and ready to strut if you ve seen some of the wild creative hilarious and downright awesome retro costumes that have hit the retro con floor over the years you already know this is going to be a fun one we ve seen everything from classic cartoons and toys to movies tv shows video games superheroes monsters mascots and even obscure deep cut characters so dig through the closet raid the prop bin dust off and revamp that old costume finish that project you ve been working on and bring it to retro con cash prizes are up for grabs con truly truly truly outrageous karaoke contest is heading to the big screen be the guy or gal that sings the epic montage sequence or the legend who belts out that end credits song this is your chance to steal the spotlight we re putting together a soundtrack packed with unforgettable songs from some of the biggest movies of the 80s and 90s expect tunes from classics like back to the future top gun transformers the movie and other cinematic favorites no acting experience required although dramatic pointing imaginary wind machines and over the top air guitar solos are highly encouraged the contest takes place sunday afternoon with a tentative 3 00pm start time because contestant spots are limited and we ll need time to prepare the playlist sign ups are required head to the preregistrant table in our lead in hallway around 12 00pm on sunday if demand is high we ll draw names lottery style to select our 12 performers first place this year wins the haslab ghostbusters
