w this got me a bit nervous as i didn t want to waste my money and loose the opportunity to hold the guinness book record and guess what when you are keen to do something then some time you end up doing silly things of course i did hate the fact that i didn t collect my ticket earlier which would have been way more easier some girls were going straight in which made me curious to see if there is another queue that people are not aware of so i started to follow these girls but soon to my dismay i realized that they had already collected the tickets now i had lost my position in the queue line and i was almost at the ticket window i decided to stay there as long as it takes to get the ticket rather than going back again hence i pretended that i am also in the queue and end up meeting a stranger and now friend there in the queue who also jumped the queue like me we both had a good conversation for a short period of time before we had to go and take seat near our pre designated table now the tension started building up as people starting gathering around their designated areas inside opera house but the view was beautiful so i preferred to enjoy the moment and took some canapés on the way and a glass of water to enjoy the ambience in this iconic building people had started introducing each other in order to be more comfortable in room full of strangers i took some pictures to capture this event in my camera as this was more of an adventure for me rather than dating i must say soon the area was full of people holding wines beer and other drinks in their hands and eagerly waiting for their blind date i was a bit nervous by now thinking who is going to be my date and there the moment comes when i am introduced to my date ok now i was not expecting to be setup with a fellow indian that too with whom none of my criteria matched that i was asked to fill in the website by the company cityswoon organizing this event anyways i didn t want to rude with the guy so we started talking formally but it was very clear that it was not going anywhere and soon i started discovering that he hadn t made any effort to come here today and directly rocked up from him work with a backpack on his shoulder that made him look like a school kid and not so cool and also it became unbearable to talk to him soon when i realized he had really bad breath some people don t realize that even if it is a blind date but one needs to put some effort to get ready and at least eat some mint if you have bad breath personal hygiene is yours but if you are in someone else s company than it affects others as well after some formal chit chat it was a matter of spending one hour in order to break the record to be honest and we both knew this he was interested in hooking up with a blonde with no sense of self appearance and i was hoping to meet some one who could at least hold an intellectual conversation or may be a bit attractive so this date was a complete disaster for us anyways time didn t really fly but somehow one hour was over and we were allowed to mingle with other people but i think i had enough of this and on my way out i did talk to some more people before winding down for the day good news is that we did break the record in spite of a bad date that night so there it goes two items on my list are completed with this date a total stranger and hold a gunnies book record don t take me wrong and may be blind date can be fun but i am not sure if i ever want to try it again based on my only personal experience but it was fun trying anyways rate this share this 2014 bucket list tagged 100 things 100things blind date bucket list bucket list bucketlist guinness book of records opera house sebastian 30 mar 2 2014 my first house party in australia and another item on my bucketlist yes that was something i always wanted to do as i love inviting people over dinner sometimes but this time i wanted to throw a proper house party where all my friends can come and i get to meet them all at the same time and we all have a good time it was my birthday that made it possible for me to invite all of them over for a party i was nervous as i had a race the day before the party and to be honest i have never catered these many people at once in my life when i was little my mum and dad used to organize such parties on my birthday and heaps of people used to come but as i grew it was moreover with couple of friends somewhere in the restaurant or pub where i would celebrate my birthday and even a quiet one sometimes i was never a big fan of birthdays since i grew up for some reason but this year it was a blast and i felt like it was christmas to be honest as it was going on for a week almost starting from the weekend before when i flew to antarctica and then on my birthday i had some ice cream at work with my colleagues and then a beautiful home cooked 4 course meal at my friends place then the next day my another friend took me for dinner as he couldn t make it for my house party and after two days my house party so it was like christmas for me really to celebrate my birthday this year that i would never forget i love my life for many reasons and my friends are one of the biggest reason so the day had come and i had done a lot of shopping the other day and that was another adventure in a way to buy so much stuff and realizing that my flatmate can t drive me home so i had to push the trolley all the way to my home for 20 min and then back and it was quiet honestly a struggle to keep the trolley on the same track all the time and i did have some workout during that anyways i was a bit tired after preparing the sangria and the big shopping on saturday so i prepared some stuff overnight and left rest of the things for sunday morning party day i woke up on time and start cooking for the party as i wanted to serve some indian dishes as suggested by one of the friends i had asked everyone to bring one dish looking at the number of people that would be attending at least 12 15 but i still wanted to cook few things just in case and guess what the food was way too much and it lasted for few days in my fridge which was a good thing and better than less food every one loved the sangria that i had prepared and also the food very different to their usual meal we had a laugh and an awesome time we danced sang and laughed again it was one of the best way to celebrate my birthday i can say so here it goes another item on my bucket list successfully completed hope you enjoyed it and next time you might be invited on my what s happening to my bucket list for this year well this year i wanted to do things differently and i think i was able to do it to some extent my idea initially was to do things as they come and then once done add them to my list as after last year having achieved so much changed my perspective towards the bucket list concept i have already done few things this year that i would love to share with you and doing it already as well i would again categorize my list in terms of body mind and soul area to balance my actions for this year last year was fantastic in terms of the places i travelled adventures i did people i met and feeling of peace and calm that i felt travel fitness food learning and miscellaneous for mind body and soul visit antarctica visit at least 2 new countries visit at least one natural wonders in the world cities places visit at least 6 new places in australia in 12 months national parks visit at least two national parks rivers visit at least two of the famous rivers islands visit at least two of the famous islands prepare for spartan obstacle course run prepare for true grit obstacle course run get some visible abs do one race of any distance run a half marathon example citytosurf in sydney run 7 days in a row and then run for a month at least 3 days a week do my master scuba diving dive in fish rock prepare meal for at least 7 days in a row start eating 5 small meals a day prepare your own drinks juices smothies learn spanish to be able to speak as a beginner learn to surf learn how to write with your left hand as i am a right hand organize my first house party in australia hold a guinness world record in something go on a blind date fall in love with someone with no expectation participate in an event in some other country visit taronga zoo in sydney as i have never been there participate in a flash mob take vow of silence a day a week a month find 10 fears in myself and overcome some of them example approach some one and ask for a coffee date cycle around sydney spend a day of gratitude and no transaction of money but rather live like a monk mamoth cave weekend canyoning buy a car get my driving license learn to surf take an african safari plan christmas and new year in some awesome place yet to decide attend a huge rock concert go on a sailing trip do something for a homeless person write list of fears like last year and overcome some of them insert the link here go on a diving trip do 10 things that make you the happiess plan to participate in carnival in brazil create a custom website for my travels and other stuff try ice skating do something completely spontaneously may be five thing ask a stranger for coffee buy someone lunch write a book make a documentary note question i have updated the list and now its just over 50 so what do you say shall i make it a 100 i would add more items here soon to make it a list of 50 like last year and let s see how many i can achieve this year wish me luck as i would need some wishes my friends and now get ready for an adventurous journey for this year my friend with me where nothing is predictable and anything can happen as this is my life and as mind race soul travel 30 feb 24 2014 color me rad different version of holi and way to have fun and be healthy i did it yay it was one of the best weekend ever really even though i was sick as i had so much fun and i think i overdid myself so i couldn t recover from the cold and infection i had but i don t really regret it i had my first race although it was a baby run of 5 km only but it was my first step to any sort of race i would say as i have never run in any race in my life i wanted to do a half marathan last year but never trained myself for that but this time it was so much fun with colors and water everywhere if you have done colormerad before than you would know what is it all about as it is being held in various parts of the world i was there on time an hour early to register and get my package after online booking it was a long way away 2 5 hours to get to the venue i should have checked the place before signing up i was told this by my friends which was a good advice but i could not do the other colour run as i was going to antarctica that time so this was an awesome opportunity for me to see how i go with running before my next challenge spartan an obstacle course run even though it was no where near difficulty wise to spartan but still it boosted my confidence for my next event for sure and that was enough for me to get going specially when i wasn t very well for last two days anyways so i think i did ok to run 5 km in 40 minutes i suppose as we were slowing down at water stations where they were throwing water at you and more so at the colour stations where you had to make sure you don t open your mouth and also protect your eyes to be able to continue on the race track without any stress i hadn t had so much fun for quiet a long time there were so many kids in this event as many families were participating friends had come in their groups and i was missing mine as my friends were going out of town so they couldn t be here with me but the whole atmosphere was just amazing with music colours water smiles and excitement before the actual race there was a zumba dance as well that lot of people followed i couldn t be a part of it as i took the public transport and i was trying to arrange some place to keep my backpack that i had brought with me with food and spare clothes as there was no bag drop only issue with this event i felt but finally i decided to run with my bag when i couldn t find any solution to this i was on the first of the three waves starting 9 9 30 and 9 45 am and being alone i also managed to get in the front line and then it started with so many people running towards the first water station and then i realized that it is my first run ever as some of the guys started to take over and soon i knew that i have to keep up with them not to fall far behind with the rest of the people so i think i did good as i was at the finish line in 40 minutes or less even though it was a fun run with not much longer distance but it was good enough to boost my motivation for longer runs and to train harder also i have attached pictures from the event we had an awesome party with music more colours and lots of dancing
