uccessfully much like a delicate puzzle under a time limit and quite some help from my parents to make this happen it took me longer than anticipated to actually move in but that was pretty much because of me the apartment itself was actually in good nick and had received a somewhat recent make over not having moved anywhere in my life before packing things down effectively went so so and it was only then i realized the full extent of my hoarder personality which had thrived quite well thanks an actual salary also i wanted to wait until the last moment to move my computer as i didn t want it sitting in a box more than necessary so then when some of the other stuff like temporary furniture and such was in place we moved my bed and computer in one sitting and the moment the bed moved was when i officially moved out i also got a few wooden chairs surprisingly comfortable and a not so stable folding table from a pair that was just cleaning out another apartment free stuff i remember it quite well i moved during the weekend so that i would have grown a bit accustomed to things and not spend my entire morning getting ready for work with looking through the wrong cupboards the feeling was actually that of staying in a hotel it was an odd but not all unpleasant feeling after a week it did feel like home though and it really does now so yeah moving out was the really big thing in mess irl bonus f00d pr0n another imgur link also got me a temporary oldschool gaming setup going now it ll probably be the way it is for way too long to be called temporary but it s a start here in december i actually sat down and played through snatcher on the pc engine which was nice otherwise i ve spent most of my time gaming on pc thanks since i upgraded my pc a little bit and there were indeed some good games out this year i spent a lot of time with metal gear solid v when that came out for example audio related imgur link i also dabbled more with speakers and hifi stuff this year during the late summer i attempted to switch from my mission 752 tower speakers to something more modern i first ran the standmount route and after some comparison made the rash decision to get a pair of dali zensor 3s i demoed the wharfedale 10 2 and boston acoustics a26 before deciding but looking back those two were probably more in line of my preferences but i wanted something a bit different sounding and got carried away after not really getting along with the sound signature personal opinion speakers were quite impressive technically i went the floorstanding route again and ended up with a pair of audio pro avanto 5 0s these have been rather good chesty if run in full range or crossed low but as one might expect a bit much in my small living room so i am once again thinking of maybe getting another pair of bookshelf speakers we ll just have to see what i end up doing in 2016 i also ended up getting a new portable music player the sony nwz a17 this one 64gb ver i had to get from massdrop as the sony was 1 quite expensive here in sweden and 2 not available with the larger memory bit priced almost as high it s been really good the back option buttons are slightly mushy though but other than that works well i ve been using sony daps since my creative zen micro died and i got a sony nwz a818 instead which i wrote about long ago as for drawing i ve been hanging out on r comment christmas 2015 artwork click me merry late christmas holidays and a happy new year well it s a little late time this time as christmas was a week ago but finishing this thing up took me a little while oh well here we are another year gone and i of course realize i pretty much haven t touched this place save for replying to some comments which are of course always welcome will that change in 2016 hard to say how much time i spend on the blog seems to sort of reflect how much more time i spend in other places such as communitys forums and reddit for example however i shall try to all stuff that i have this might take a good while january 8 2015 in anime books loot 2 comments oh hey kickstarted things back in 2013 before i took a brief lengthy hiatus writing things here i mentioned two very interesting kickstarter campaigns one was for the western release of the original bubblegum crisis ova on blu ray and the other was for sega mega drive genesis collected works a fancy book dedicated to well the sega mega drive as you might know not only did those successfully finish their fundraising but also the actual products as well neato as i don t have too much experience with crowd funding and while i can see the same problem as everyone else it does feel like a fresh way of doing things and also a way to vote with your money to get what you want when that works that is if we tackle the book first it s a really cool book it s big chunky and absolute eye candy if you have feelings for sega s 16 bit system i regret to say i haven t read the whole book yet as in with the words but i ve looked through it multiple times and it s just a matter of me finding time to properly wind down with this sleek read with that we ll move on to the bgc blu ray which unsurprisingly is just delicious i never owned the dvd release or had a high quality rip on my pc so this was a real step up no matter how much i love to have the show on laserdisc this is just better not the biggest fan of the multi colored subs as they are rather too saturated but there s also non colored subs available so it s a non problem really video and audio is as expected stellar there are also some interesting extras such as the knight sabers holiday in bali which i can t watch without cringing uncontrollably but that might just be me also getting access to a high quality scanned pdf version of bgc manga grand mal among a few other things is definitively a nice touch wrapping it up i m looking forward to whatever future projects might be next from the creators of both robert from in anime leave a comment quick anime recommendation tenamonya voyagers i love checking out the odd ova there s always something to discover something you ve never heard of sometimes it s even good that s the case with tenamonya voyagers a 4 episode late 90s ova which best can be described as a collision between a zany space adventure and a 70s yakuza flick this charmingly odd ride is presented with a surprisingly high level of visual quality with nice special effects lovely detailed backgrounds cool mechanical design and mostly above average sometimes excellent animation characters are drawn well enough although this particular style of drawing exhibits some parts of the 90s style that i m not too fond of the music too is unconventional but fitting and well produced the opening sequence is set to a happy march while the rest of bgm is very low key if used at all however some really pumping tunes are brought up during the action scenes without getting into too many details the story is about a trio of girls the newly graduated but unlucky teacher ayako the athletic wakane and the mysterious paraila which are stuck on a remote planet and for various reasons must make their way back to earth all while being chased by the space mafia and a loose cannon police officer both for story reasons and because the trio manages to rack up quite the amount of criminal charges during their travels despite everything that happens around them the characters in tenamonya voyagers comes off as very ordinary they have their specified roles and they don t grow a lot and they re easy enough to visually distinguish from each other but no one is over designed or that well fitted to having their face plastered over some merchandise in this case their everyday looks go well in hand with the feel of the show although their personalities falls into a pattern quite early on which might bother some it ends quite abruptly with the 4th episode and it really feels like someone originally had planned for a longer run i could easily see this having double the amount of episodes in the end if you have the time and are up for it i recommend checking out tenamonya voyagers april comment the crunchyroll mystery back 2013 2014 ver this just showed up and i had almost completely forgotten about it this is something crunchyroll called the mystery backpack and sold on their homepage during last years cyber monday it was a pre order so it arrived just now roughly half a year later the box contained a crunchyroll branded cap t shirt comfy note pad and the backpack pretty bare bone stuff but the price was also waaaay down that time had i paid more i d perhaps be a bit let down in regards to the actual build quality but as it stands it looks to be a good backup backpack kind of post where we re just all about staying classy and you might ask what exactly is this glorious little pile of stuff i m glad you asked the headphones are the sony mdr 1r which are just so soo very comfortable although gets a tad warm after a while still for a closed can they feel really airy and i m impressed by both the soundstage and instrument separation on the other hand i don t have that much in terms of headphone experience could do with just a bit more thumpy bass though then we have the just released ranma ½ tv season 1 blu ray collection it s a new hd master apparently viz posted comparisons on their youtube page which did look a bit over saturated but with nice details i m planning to check it out after finishing writing this so we ll see how the quality is this box is nice anyhow and i ve always wanted to check out the tv series update quality is actually really nice colors doesn t seem overly saturated to me and there s no horrible filtering going on maybe a bit on the grainy side on the other hand but that s really preferable instead of having it forcefully removed lastly there s another agent aika dvd what d rightstuf had a sale so i jumped on that picture here please excuse the small picture sizes as these originally were meant to be embedded in a forum post elsewhere the biggest change is the pc corner which now in addition to rgb leds and cozy lightning have been completely revamped with two new desks a new shelf and display cabinet for figures and similar things one of my displays is also now mounted to an arm tate preparations complete and it s a very nice place to be frankly next on the list should probably be a new chair this cheap one is literary falling apart for those of you who re interested this is my current audio setup pc consoles optical cable active switch chinese smsl brand dac headphone amp audioengine n22 desktop amp mordaunt short ms 3 10 speakers cheap könig subwoofer it sounds pretty good even though i d love to try some other speakers or another amplifier in the future it s not the cheapest setup but in the mad mad world of audio it s still probably budget material still it s much more flexible setup than a set of normal computer speakers since it s super easy to replace parts of it the tv corner is pretty much the same as last time except now with much more stuff and again leds audio wise i switched to bookshelfs instead of the big technics speakers two cheap gale monitor speakers another small sub from könig and a denon avr 1601 amp reciever actually a very budget friendly audio setup this used to be my pc audio setup before i decided to downsize it i m always saying this but i m wanting to do something about the tv corner it s always a big mess of wires cables and controllers not just sure
