america community voices needed for upper welland river tributaries floodplain mapping residents encouraged to attend upcoming public engagement sessions to review draft floodplain mapping niagara peninsula conservation authority and town of niagara on the lake advance four mile creek integrated watershed management initiative npca in collaboration with the town of niagara on the lake is advancing a science based initiative focused on improving understanding of the four mile creek watershed and supporting informed decision making land acknowledgement the purpose of the land acknowledgement is to respectfully and meaningfully recognize all indigenous peoples and their close connection to the land and water of ancestral inhabitation the niagara peninsula watershed is situated within the traditional territory of the haudenosaunee attiwonderonk neutral and the anishinaabeg including the mississaugas of the credit many of whom continue to live and work here today this territory is covered by the upper canada treaties no 3 4 and 381 and is within the land protected by the dish with one spoon wampum agreement today the watershed is home to many first nations métis and inuit peoples through the npca 10 year strategic plan we re confirm our commitment to shared stewardship of natural resources and deep appreciation of indigenous culture and history in the
