girls life love old sadness unexplained unexplained encounter rojie asks have you ever had any ghostly or unexplained encounters occur i have and quite a bit when i was a young kid not so much as an adult but once was in early spring 1983 when i was driving home after work through downtown minneapolis i was driving south on 3rd avenue south which won t mean anything to you and another driver was driving north on 3rd avenue south and turning left onto 2nd street south she turned into me and hit me in the driver s door the force of the impact was enough to spin the car around so i was now on 2nd street south facing east i was driving a vw bug i can t remember the year the impact sent me forward and my head hit the windshield and i was knocked out for a few seconds i know it was only out for a few seconds because i came to just as the other driver was running over to my car to see if i was ok i was wearing my seatbelt and that s important because when i woke up i was sitting in the passenger seat how my entire body legs and all got over the center hump where the stick shift is and into the passenger seat sitting upright with my feet on the floor i don t know unexplained encounter here i am posing with my car at the dealership it was towed to like it s some kind of trophy or something hey check it out here s a beauty i bagged on the way home from work another time was when my grandfather died on my birthday in november 1992 i had gotten home and was putting my stuff away when my left hand started feeling weird not numb but tingly weird it lasted a couple of minutes and that was it later that evening i got a call from my mom telling me that he had died that was a monday evening and on wednesday morning i was down in florida and i learned that he died at the same time i had the weird feeling in my hand unexplained encounter i m not convinced it was unexplained but i don t know another time rolls around right about this time of year because her birthday is this week which brings memories not an encounter and probably not unexplained either just bittersweet memories that aren t necessarily better forgotten brought about by the unexplained encounter of seeing this prompt today this is such a beautiful song and i hope you listen to it it s funny once upon a time i used to live downtown fearless and i worked downtown for so long and now i don t go downtown anymore because i feel too old and lately too vulnerable i only mention that because the indigo girls are going to be playing at a downtown venue in two weeks and it would be nice to go see them again
