g to watch and that s because i trust mike flannagan to get it right yes its been modernized and once again this carrie doesn t look like the one in the book who was kind of squat and dumpy with pimples but hopefully he will keep a lot of the moments from the book including the rain of stones the full destruction of the entire town and the fact that carrie isn t quite as innocent as the movies tried to make her seem in the book carrie wasn t just a victim she made choices too and i hope flannagan shows how complicated a character she was samurai and the prisoner yeah i got nothing on this one it s my first time hearing about it i put this up because i thought this trailer was pretty and because i m a sucker for a well made samurai drama another world this is a lovely little anime i ve never heard of before and will never get to see in a theater so i hope this is a series or something it had me at magic so there ip man king fu legend i lhave seen nearly all of the ip man movies that have ip man in the title so i might as well continue this streak i actually like the actor here dennis to because he s in one of my favorite kung fu films the grandmaster of kung fu in that one he played another martial arts master huo yuan jia i m like the chinese i never seem to get tired of these stories either movies to look forward to wicker olivia coleman falls in love with a wicker man played by alexander skarsgaard i think i can skip this one the thomas crown affair is this michael b jordan s bid to play bond i don t know but he does look good in a suit victorian psycho this is are just for series and movies i think look intriguing i may or may not see them in theaters i may or may not stream them some of them i m eagerly looking forward to and a couple i thought simply looked pretty or had an interesting premise the last house netflix for soe reason there has been this big thing with neighborhood horror movies where suburbanites get displaced to even worse alternative universe or get invaded by them i will be trying to watch this along with the one with the dinosaurs called the end of oak street i also watched several episodes of the boroughs also on netflix which was mildly entertaining this looks intriguing depending on what i m doing and how much time it takes i may watch this star trek strange new worlds season 4 paramount i totally skipped the last season although i really wanted to see it i just didn t have the time because i was watching other stuff but this season looks pretty good i miss these characters so i ll be watching this one i keep thinking i need to get rid of this subscription but then i remember that its hosting all my star trek shows and the reason i have it at all is because it s free with my sub to walmart plus mister whatever i love it when a comedian gets all serious with us and starts showing off their acting chops nah that s not what s happening here although i would totally watch that this is just john mulaney with the trailer for his latest stand up tour i really loved his last special and i even watched several episodes of the talk show everybody s live with john so i m looking forward to this streaming on netflix at some point digger in keeping with our theme here is tom cruise with a dark comedy called digger it s got one of my favorite directors inarritu and a great cast with jesse plemons and riz ahmed the plot is kind of under wraps a little bit because the trailer doesn t show much but it s rare to get cruise in a truly comedic role and i don t think he s ever worked with this director before so this should all be very interesting i am cautiously excited this is one of those films where i m a little wishy washy about seeing it until the reviews start coming in pinocchio unstrung in keeping with the trend of turning childhood icons into horror movie monsters here is this version of pinocchio i m gonna keep it a hundred pinocchio always creeped me out even as a cartoon i told y all about my little moving doll phobia so yeah i ll probably watch this cheesy mess of a film since such phobias have never stopped me from traumatizing myself even further i loved child s play which scared the bejeebus out of me so i think i can handle this omg there s like this horrible little anti jiminy cricket creature saying all of the wrong things to him somebody kill it with fire your mother your mother your mother i got nothing beyond this being the first time i m hearing about this movie i like the cast and it looks like an interesting action thriller although i will leave room that that might not be what it is werwulf well i guess i know what i m going to be doing christmas day and that s sitting in a theater eating too much popcorn awhile watching this one this is the third in robert eggers classic monsters series i guess he s done witches and vampires so the werewolf is up next and it looks pretty good eggers hasn t disappointed me yet so i m very excited about this bonus trailer joe parody druski i know i m not supposed to laugh at this but this is hands down the funniest thing i ve seen all week and this is coming from someone who genuinely enjoyed the michael film i m not a druski fan i only just heard about him this year after he made a parody video on the women of maga i ve since watched several more of his videos now and i actually horror lists movies trailers tv shows leave a comment here is a short list of game and movie trailers that i thought looked interesting as i mentioned before i almost never play games i m really only interested in the story and the visuals so for me gaming isnt really even a thing since i feel no urge to participate in the storytelling process sitting and watching or rather listening to my nieces and nephews play a game is oddly relaxing for me that said i included the games on this list because i thought they had great imagery movies ride or die i have to admit i did laugh out loud at this trailer perhaps it s because i can see myself in octavia spencer s character as that quiet unassuming friend who gets caught up in some wild and crazy adventure with my more extroverted family member or friend which has actually happened but once i m in i m game and potentially as crazy as they are once i let loose plus i just like the pairing of these two very different women and i m a sucker for movies and shows about female assassins the one problem i have with this is it would ve been waaay funnier if octavia spencer was the assassin its a series so it should be easy for me to decide if i m watching this black box yeah i got nothing i never heard of this before i saw the trailer in fact when i came across this on youtube i wasn t sure it was a real trailer since there is a glut of fake trailers all over youtube i thought the same thing when i came across the new toy story trailer wasn t sure it was real because my first question was is this necessary anyway i think this is a scifi horror movie that i m not going to be seeing in the theater mostly because i cannot determine whether or not i m supposed to be laughing at it not that it s playing anywhere near me and will probably go directly to streaming i am nosy about stuff so i may watch it then possessions this is another movie i have never heard of before encountering this trailer it looks interesting but will probably not be playing in any theaters in my neighborhood i can easily get to about three or four movie theaters near me but they mostly play general pop culture and big name films only one theater near me will play indie films and only one or two at a time since its a small place if you re wondering how in the hell i keep finding trailers for movies i never heard of well once a week i type into the subject box of youtube movie trailers and then i filter for weekly or daily uploads and a lot of stuff turns up some of it can be really obscure but if you re looking for specialty films you need to type in indie movie trailers which is where you can see stuff that s not playing in theaters near you i object i see what they did with the title there that s kind of funny i find the idea of this movie fascinating because i ve been interested in face pareidolia since i was a kid that is the ability to see facial features in ordinary objects and apparently this is a fairly common thing that human beings do which is reassuring since i do get tired of learning about yet one more thing that makes me seem weird i don t know if the kid in this movie is imagining things or if the talking objects are actually talking to him but its interesting either way and i will probably watch this when it streams a couple of years after i ve forgotten about it jimmy i have always had tremendous respect for stewart so i was looking forward to watching this trailer and i like it i don t know that i will watch this in a theater i will if a friend invites me but otherwise i will wait to stream it i m not a big war movie fan but i will sit through it for jimmy stewart this looks good although i think the guy in this movie is overdoing it on the accent a little bit but if you are a jimmy stewart fan check it out and get back to me the doomies there aren t too many animated horror comedies that are also series that are not manga and i always try to check them out i really enjoyed the exploding kittens series i thought that was pretty hilarious and this looks like the same type of humor that is subverting various horror tropes so i m willing to sit through it among us this one gibes nicely with the one above as its murder mystery scifi comedy series based on that silly but anxiety producing game from a few years ago it looks ridiculous so i m probably going to watch this on some idle saturday afternoon if i can find the time alpha i told you i m willing to watch just about any movie with female assassins in it well here we are eyeballing hindi movies about female assassins this one looks like its coming in hard hopefully there will not be singing since i always find that kind of thing jarring in a hardcore action movie its not that i dislike musicals but moving from hardcore and gritty violence to dancing and a love song is an emotional whiplash that s hard for me to deal with games gen atlas i absolutely love these visuals plus giant robots are always a good thing the twilight project okay let s see here random doll heads check japanese monsters check dark woods check yeah that s not creepy at all phantom blade zero i have to admit i am attracted to the gameplay on this one which looks pretty slick fighting games are one of the few types of games i m willing to actually sit down and play if i ever had the time to do such a thing which i don t the lost wild aaaah dinosaurs god of war laufey i have been following the god of war series lore for a minute that s mostly how i interact with games i watch videos and read books i like the series and this game looks pretty awesome and whatever you do please ignore the boneheaded and sexist arguments about this game no one can afford to lose the brain cells required to understand it comment but you might like to i know you haven t seen these because some of these are just really really weird and some of these i only just heard of for the ones i ve known about for a while i might have briefly mentioned them here in which case this is yet another recommendation to check them out lemme know in the comments if you ve seen them and what did you think skinamarink i know i mentioned this one before and that many of you have not seen it it s a completely non traditional horror movie that is not for everyone but if you re feeling adventurous and wanting something a little different you should try this it has characters and a plot but beyond that it s not immediately recognizable as a horror movie and yet if you remain open to the experience it s very effective in scaring the shit out of you the movie doesn t have traditional dialogue cinematography or structure it doesn t have jump scares car chases or explosions it looks like it might be a found footage film but technically it s not it s as if we are watching the events unfold as they occur rather than an artifact someone found later the images are dark and grainy as if watched an old analog tv the movie is about two little kids kevin and kaylee who are left mostly alone in the dark after kevin falls down the stars they are not entirely alone but their mother is only briefly glimpsed or referenced and their father is mostly absent from the story as the film continues the children s world shrinks smaller and smaller first the parents disappear then the doors and windows and then kaylee eventually kevin is left all alone in a single room speaking to an evil disembodied voice the movie s strength lies largely in lighting and mood and on the dark nostalgia of being a child left alone in the house at night for the very first time i can also say that this movie hit all my quiet little fear toggles and though your mileage may vary i strongly recommend this skinamarink is available on amazon s shudder network as well as tubi and amc they look like people this is another movie i may have previously mentioned that relies heavily on a feeling of deep uncertainty events occur but as the viewer you are never entirely sure whether or not the events are real or whether or not the main character is telling the truth or insane this movie worked for me i wasn t pins and needling it but i was definitely feeling the unease wyatt has been long estranged from his old friend christian when the two stumble across each other in new york wyatt tries to warn christian about impending doom of people being possessed by demons but christian is reluctant to adopt this idea the plot boils down to a game of trust and mistrust between the two christian doesn t know if wyatt is insane and wyatt cannot be certain that christian isn t the enemy i kind of liked the uncertainty of this film i don t always like such nebulous plots but i think this was ...
