loving the hispanic heritage oc challenge everyone s ocs are great but reminder that brazil is not hispanic lmao like we are latinos but not of hispanic heritage we do not speak spanish if you name it a bit overwhelmed with answering actual ask games in the ask box and then i realized i could just skip to the yaps i can do anything i want lmao so hiii thanks for sending this in so ann marit is like my favorite girl ever my sweetheart my baby my pookie love of my life she was the first of my batch of fairytale ocs because i was having so much fun exploring the family dynamics that would come up from this fucked up family history i m actually kinda writing it into a play right now but it s a different thing from ann marit the oc i talk about on tumblr i ll use this as an opportunity to explain these family dynamics because they re the most compelling part of the story to me in this universe that ann is a part of fairytales are like the family legacy destiny of those characters they will live through the story as their parents have and their parents and their parents etc and her story is the juniper tree which is my favorite fairytale and known as the darkest brothers grimm fairytale btw basically in the tale a boy is killed by his stepmother and cooked into a stew which is served to his dad but his younger sister buries his bones under the magical juniper tree in the backyard so he comes back as a bird and kills the stepmother and the rest of the family live happily ever after really fun stuff ann s mother marlene was the younger sister in the fairytale who saw her older brother beheaded and was convinced by her mother that she had killed him so that fucks up a person so her and her older brother revived post bird and turned back into a human became reclusive sad people and she lived in a state of constant paranoia they both really tried to isolate themselves and not have children but she still became pregnant with ann due to uhhh the magic of the tree having something to do with perpetuating the story the original fairytale also has something about the tree helping the couple get pregnant with the original bird boy ann is not the first tree magic baby and also not the last as she has a younger brother so it s actually the tragedy of this family that the story has to happen again ann is the older sister to a teenage brother moritz so it s kind of assumed that she ll be the next bird brother and go through the being murdered by her stepmom etc but marlene never married so there is no father to remarry a stepmom after her death and her uncle the previous bird brother is also very reclusive with no intention to marry either so the question is whether her mother will end up going insane and killing her her mother is not evil just afraid and if her mother goes insane because the story demands so does it mean that she has to go insane as well so that s the stuff she s dealing with and paranoid about on a daily basis so many open
