o friends i hope you have been well happy monday to you all today is check in 4 for silver lining qal i hope you have enjoyed making the blocks i love making house blocks silver lining is an easy enough project to make in the summer as summer is busy for many it is my attempt to design a house quilt that has a fun little twist with the clouds you can totally make the entire quilt with just the house blocks without the cloud blocks what you will need you will need 1 layer cake background cloud fabric i am using riley blake s floral charm fabrics https shrsl com 4wwjp kit info here check out cake friendly house pattern pdfs are currently buy 2 and get 20 in my etsy store today we are making the cloud blocks my tip in handling small pieces is dry iron without steam and finger press as much as possible until the very end you may decide one cloud block is enough and replace the rest with more house blocks that s totaly fine anyway here are my cloud blocks thanks for sewing along i will lining layer cake friendly house today we are making test blocks house and cloud blocks this is my second time making this pattern so i just skipped the testing part and went straight to the house blocks i wanted to make the cloud blocks all at once here are my blocks for today a thought for you if you just want easy sewing and don t want to mess with the small pieces in the cloud block you can totally substitute the cloud blocks with more house blocks there should be enough squares from your layer cake for you to do that here is how your quilt would look i actually quite like it as well happy to share with you today my quilt from fat quarter shop s latest jolly bar volume 5 book if you aren t familiar with the concepts of jolly bars it s the idea of making easy to construct quilts using precut 5 x 10 rectangles which are half of a 10 layer cake squares the idea is really quite brilliant and the quilt patterns in the jolly bar book are perfect for retreat projects gifts and just quick and easy sews click here for all things jolly bar i made blueberry pie from the jolly bar volume 5 book and i used the nantucket summer jolly bar bundle here are some pictures finished at 38 x 38 this makes the perfect little table topper for your spring summer tablescape or just a light throw quilt for the spring evening notice i used a green fabric for binding just to give the blue a
