that mr collins was paying enough attention to their conversation to take note of her suitability to be his wife the ladies separated from the gentlemen and when the men rejoined them lady lucas offered to have the carriage called to return mr collins to longbourn i am grateful for your kind offer lady lucas and i am happy to accept your condescension reminds me of my patroness lady catherine de bourgh she too never lets me return to the parsonage on foot she calls her carriage even during the summer months yes i am pleased to see you are of her nature will you return tomorrow should the release just between us in my last blog post i introduced some of the new original characters in the story while most of them play minor roles one character deserves a post of his own captain oliver lucas affectionately known as olly is charlotte s twin brother and he returns to meryton with the intention of introducing his best friend from the navy captain fitzwilliam darcy to his childhood friend elizabeth bennet circumstances keep darcy and elizabeth for years however and when mr bennet takes ill olly makes elizabeth bennet the offer of marriage he had once hoped his friend would make her elizabeth rocked on her heels wondering when the tears would begin to flow her face was hot her chest was twisting into knots but she remembered to breathe he is going to marry her after all that odious creature she must have done something managed to coerce him in some scheme or oh god have i been a fool all this time but of course the master of pemberley must marry lady amelia fitzwilliam i am nobody and he has forgotten me the tears finally came olly drew her into his embrace just as he had done the previous week when she had wept over the man she loved who was now utterly unattainable permission which i thought was rather sweet elizabeth took him by the hand and gave a glance that indicated she wished to walk sweet i thought it rather cheeky of me to do it while you slept a few feet away but is it gallant of me to do so and to take you on even though i know you to snore are we to share a bed then the jape spilled out before elizabeth could think of what she was saying and
