i wake up from and am afraid to go back to bed because i know i ll get sucked right back into them shudder however i have had a oft recurring dream since i ve retired i don t think i ve posted anything about it before i m at work again but i suddenly realize that i don t have my badge because i turned it in when i retired what if someone asks me where my badge is i can t remember how i got to work without a badge it s like i m the staple guy from office space that nobody notices or cares is still working why didn t the guard stop me when i came in then i think hey i ve been working after my retirement happens a lot at the lab as experienced people return to consult and help transfer knowledge but i haven t been paid they owe me a lot of money i m at meetings and answering questions and i keep mentioning that i m working without pay but nobody seems to care which ticks me off i usually wake up thinking i need to call about my back pay before i realize it was all a dream and i haven t been back to the lab since i retired now all this probably sounds similar to the classic college days dream about tomorrow being finals and not studying or going to class all semester you never had that one maybe that one was just me anyway what makes this dream most interesting to me is that i am actually doing work i am coding debugging designing just like the real thing i wake up with code floating in my mind i can remember the software that just blows my mind other than this unauthorized night work i haven t done any coding since i retired somebody needs to tell my and decided it wasn t worth the risk in my immunosuppressed condition which is sad i really wanted to go out at my desk pretending to work i suppose i ll leave behind this blog until one day it gets deleted and nobody notices at least i won t be around to be upset about it hey where s my blog whoever keeps searching for pete s pool hall now and then might find a broken link to it though that made me wonder if i exist in google as anything other than a name matching many others so here s what i found i m nobody some guy that owns a stable beats me out i should have went into horses instead of computer software if someone knows i worked at the lab then i get found not much a few paragraphs but i hope it stays around for awhile even if no one ever searches for it besides me i do hope it gets
