posted 2 months ago tags ask loading 17 notes reblog like unlike notes info 27 08 26 xxx naasog sent by anonymous hello if you don t mind me asking how did you learn to draw and how do you approch colors have a good day answered by naasog thank you for your question because i love it and i ve been thinking about the answer all day long the simple answer is draw a lot and analyse a lot but now ooooh prepare for long read because i really like this theme let s start from the beginning i ve been drawing all my life and my way is a little bit strange in some parts so as a kid i attended art school for 6 years and then studied at architecture school for another 2 years oh and of course another 4 years at university all these places gave me enough basic knowledge about drawing and time to practice however without self study it all would have been useless i also drew a lot outside of class but for a long time i did so mindlessly yeah this is important part trust me i d prefer to track my creative journey over the course of decades i would describe the last ten years as my apprenticeship phase so next year would be the last year of this arc all this time i was learning various aspects of drawing from the basics to more advanced and specialized areas my style and knowledge were shaped through practice observation and the analysis of other artists work i watched a lot of speedpaints and observed other artists work processes how they handled layers shapes color and so on now by looking at a drawing i can tell which layers and effects the artist used and roughly how they go about their work i didn t copy the style instead i tried to find elements i liked and attempted to depict them myself that is how my drawing skills improved however for a long time most of my work consisted of simple sketches devoid of any real meaning back then i didn t even think about enjoying the process of drawing i only cared about the result this went on for many years then at some point i read witch hat atelier and started thinking about the meaning of my creative work for the first time what do i feel while drawing what do i want to draw what do i actually enjoy what do i want to convey through my art so 2 years ago when i started thinking about what i wanted to draw beyond just the skill of drawing itself my abilities improved rapidly across the board i became interested in working with composition and color that made my work more interesting and it s a rather satisfying feeling like correctly solving a complex mathematical equation now my drawings look not bad from a technical standpoint and they possess a certain meaning and significance besides i now realize how little i actually know and how much i will need to learn throughout my life ok i can actually make a whole podcast about all my thoughts about art i am tooooo obsessed yes but it is literally all my life so what i can say draw a lot and think a lot find things you like and draw and think about them you don t need any special degree for creating art because it is useless without self thought and practice posted 2 months ago tags ask naasog art damn that s a lot sorry guys but i love talking about
