ent with them poor ashton wasn t feeling well and spent alot of the afternoon on the couch the boys love playing soccer in the backyard before bedtime june 2 2012 ashton s soccer game britton s soccer game backyard soccer with the cousins june 3 2012 june 5 2012 the boys are still getting excited over every mouse vole they find in the window wells randy hasn t been quite as nice to them as he s taken them to the field as he was with the first few we found this one got chopped in half with a shovel june 6 2012 while i shower and get ready for the day i will usually leave kendell playing in her crib ashton lately seems to think that he needs to climb in with her to entertain her although these two had a rough start together they now have such a cute relationship with each other i can t wait to watch it grow as they get older big foot we needed to get some new tires and a few little things done on the car and the burt brothers in farmington was having their big grand opening event so we headed up there to get the work done and enjoy the festivities the boys were so excited to see some of their friends cousins there and also to see bigfoot they sure enjoyed the show that bigfoot did it sure made waiting for our car to be done go fast st george june 7 10 june 7 on our way down to st george we caravaned down with the mcdermaids it was so fun following eachother down we stopped in scipio for a potty break and to see the petting zoo we d been hearing about it was the perfect break well until britton tried to feed the ostrich he reached up to give it food and it full on bit his finger he was absolutely hysterical while we got him cleaned up and bandaged he didn t want to get anywhere near most of the animals after that the rest of us had a great time seeing and playing with all the animals until brightyn tried to feed the zebra and it bit her by the time we left britton was laughing about being bit by an ostrich i mean how many people can say they ve been bit by an ostrich double drink at taco time after being in the car for what felt like forever we were so excited to get to the house we were staying at we rented it along with a whole bunch of our friends for the weekend it was absolutely gorgeous we loved the yard and the pool and all the fun things there for the kids june 8 2012 the kids all loved the dress ups and toys at the house britton loved dressing up like a pirate we the moms and kids started the day off at the splash pad in downtown st george it was so cute and fun and the perfect way to cool down from the heat while we were there all the guys went shooting after the splash pad we grabbed lunch at the pizza factory and went back to our house to swim we had so much fun in the pool our kids were having a rough time napping sleeping so randy i took them for a drive to get a little nap in we drove around and saw the st george temple it is so beautiful when we got back to the house and our kids woke up we went right back to the pool june 9 2012 we had planned to spend the morning hiking to some waterfalls but unfortunately they were all dried up so after debating what to do we all decided to just head back by the house and play at the splash pad just across from the neighborhood we had been there for a few minutes when britton got stung by a wasp after getting him taken care of we all packed up and headed back to the house and spent the rest of day in the pool again kids movie night after spending the afternoon in the pool the moms headed out for a little gno of shopping and nielsens frozen custard june 10 2012 on our way home we decided to take a little detour and spend the morning hiking in zions with our friends the van ordens it was so gorgeous and we had such a fun time taking a couple little hikes with the kids as we drove home we once again stopped in scipio for a pit stop and well to visit our old friend the ostrich the kids were so great on the drive home we d never really road tripped with kids before this made us think that maybe it d be a possibility again in the future june 11 2012 when we got home from st george ariel came to visit with her friends new puppy ozzy ashton absolutely adored this little puppy and carried him around everywhere he went all afternoon long kendell loved ozzy too she was so excited when it was her turn to play with him june 12 2012 ariel had just returned from a long trip to europe and i was so excited when she gave me this little tin of french macaroons she picked up for me in paris they were so cute and colorful in the tin it was almost hard to want to eat them oh but they were so amazing each one just melted in your mouth each each bite i was pretty sad when they were gone aren t they gorgeous i bought a package of jacks for the boys and i spent some time teaching ashton how to play i think it may be a little bit before he has it all figured out during the summer the murray park has some fun things for kids a couple times a week today we met up with some friends for a picnic and magic show britton loved getting picked to help with one of the tricks that night when randy got off we took the kids down to trafalga our boys sure love going down there with summer in full swing it was time to get started on our pottery barn summer reading challenges the kids were so excited to cross off the books they d been reading over the last few days june 13 2012 our cute neighbors are amazing soccer players and as a fundraiser to help with their soccer fees they put on a soccer camp for some of the younger kids in the neighborhood the boys were so excited to get to spend their morning for the next two weeks at soccer camp with their friends june 14 2012 bowling with daddy girls night at arella i spent the evening at dinner with a group of my high school friends we had such a delicious dinner and spent the evening catching up it was so fun to see these girls before sara moved to vegas june 15 2012 our library had a huge book sale the other day and i went kind of crazy buying books for the kids they were sure excited as we filled up their bookshelf with fun new books brittons favorite was this dinosaur opposites book he could even read it by himself tonight was a night many of us here would like to forget we were getting ready to leave on a little getaway the next morning randy was out doing a few things in the yard i was on the phone with my cousin bryan and britton was bowling on the wii i love whenever i get to talk to bryan and i was so excited to talk to him all about his new job and new apartment in orlando we were talking about how he d just bought himself a nice tv and how he wasn t so sure about bringing up any of his gameing systems wii or xbox because he was afraid of his friends drinking a little too much and accidently throwing a remote into his new tv about 30 seconds after he said that i all of a sudden heard a crash and our tv went dark britton had thrown his wii remote into the tv i couldn t believe what had just happened there were words that came out of my mouth that have never come out of my mouth before i quickly hung up with bryan and went to see what exactly happened well britton had been playing the wii but had forgotten to put the wrist strap around his wrist and when he went to bowl the last time it slipped out of his hand and right into the tv oh we were so mad we practice putting the wrist strap on and remind the kids to put it on whenever they are going to start playing in fact right before bryan was telling me about his new tv i told britton to put it on he didn t listen moral of the story if you re playing the wii put your wrist strap on or you just might get a giant crack in your tv too what may have been the worst part of this is that this is the second flat screen tv that britton had broken in less than 2 years the first one he found a towel rod in our basement while we were cleaning it out once and brought it upstairs and was sword fighting with it and smacked our tv with it we weren t real happy with him then either this kid has destroyed about 4200 in tv s in a couple years we decided that night that we were just going to go pick up our old tv and armoire from my parents basement storage and use it again we sure miss our nice big tv and hd but i m pretty sure our old tv is indestructible and right now neither randy or i are ready to deal with this again ashton noticed how upset we were about the tv and grabbed the magic wand he d gotten at the magic show the other day and tried using magic to fix the tv it was probably the cutest thing i d ever seen and exactly what i needed at the time since we were going to be away for fathers day we decided to celebrate with randy before we left the kids were so excited to give them their gifts and his big gift well it was a new sound bar for our tv that britton broke a few hours earlier june 16 2012 we started our fathers day weekend at the lego store for a build event the kids each got to make a super hero shield out of legos they loved it park city june 16 18 june 16 2012 by the time we got up to the condo and settled in we didn t have a ton of time to do much except go for a swim have dinner and go to bed the kids all played so hard that they all just crashed when we put them to bed june 17 2012 as soon as the boys woke up this morning they wanted to build legos we spent the day at the pool normally we go to the main pool but we discovered this smaller pool by the new building and it quickly became our favorite pool there there was hardly anyone there so we felt like we had the pool all to ourselves while we were there britton decided that he wanted to learn how to swim all on his own without floaties it was the perfect pool for him to learn in we came back inside for lunch and naps i guess we d been having too much fun at the pool and wore ashton right out he fell asleep at the table while eating lunch since britton doesn t really nap anymore we brought up some new lego s for him and randy to build during downtime once ashton woke up the boys built some more legos with randy and then spent some time coloring out on the deck that night we had a bbq out on the waterfall patio britton was exhausted and fell asleep before dinner was ready june 18 2012 we all got up pretty early and packed up our room since we were leaving that evening and headed straight for the pool britton worked really hard on swimming and before we knew it he was jumping in and swimming across the pool the westgate at the canyons love this place after spending the day at the pool we had dinner with my parents who were staying a few more days and headed home we love our time at the condo we all look forward to it all year long june 19 2012 kendell is turning into such a little girl already she loves getting her hair done and never fusses about wearing bows and she loves her babies she loves to snuggle this one that my mom brought her from spain before she was even born june 20 2012 i crocheted this cute hat for a baby gift love how it turned out last night we had a little craft night with some friends here is what i made i m pretty excited with how they turned out june 21 2012 for some reason the boys seem to be super destructive lately this is what i found when we got home from running around today ugh we re loving reading all the books on our summer reading challenge i think we re going to be done with them all pretty soon for mothers day randy gave me some couples cooking classes up at integrated wellness in bountiful tonight was our first one and i have to say everything was amazing we had such a fun time together and can t wait for our next one after our class we stopped at nielsens for a treat oh how i love this place june 22 2012 the boys have been having so much fun at soccer camp nothing like breakfast and legos fathers and sons campout the boys have been looking forward to today for weeks they were so excited to go camping with randy and their friends from church randy said they had so much fun while the boys were gone i got busy working on a quilt for britton we grabbed cafe rio and a chick flick from redbox and stayed up way too late working on it but by the time i went to bed it had all been quilted and all that was left was to put the binding around the edge i was just in love with how it was turning out june 23 2012 i got up early to finish britton s quilt before the boys got home the boys had so much fun helping pack up and then play at camp before coming home i was so excited when the boys got home they loved telling me all about their campout and britton was so excited about his new quilt once the boys were home and kendell was down for her nap i snuck away to the quilt shop to buy some fabric for my next project a minky strip quilt for kendell that night we hit cafe rio for dinner and kendell loved everything she got to taste quesadilla black beans and tres leches when we got home britton wanted to take off his training wheels and learn how to ride his bike june 25 2012 this kid and his obsession with dress ups just kills me june 26 2012 meet captain rsl this girl loves the ice cream bars at costco whenever we get one she devours it look who figured out how to stand up in her crib stop growing up baby girl stop stop stop june 27 2012 i finally ordered the print of kendell for her nursery it is more beautiful than i imagined it would be now that kendell is getting a little bigger the boys love sitting and playing with her and they re pros at pulling out every single one of her toys to play with june 28 2012 booster night at the zoo we went to booster night up at the zoo with the harwards when we got there britton asked me if he could use my little point and shoot camera to take pictures of the evening so i let him it was a little nervewracking handing over my camera to my 5 yr old but he did a great job taking care of it and it was really fun to see his perspective on snapped some pictures of kendell for her 9 month pics yes it s a month late i can t believe this little girl is growing up so fast this first year has flown i m going to miss this as she gets even
