one jugular vein in neck completely destroyed 4 staples required to close cut in left side of head has a cracked skull in 2 places 2 black eyes with right eye dark black colored completely closed and bloodshot with eye bulging partway out of it s socket scraped both knees left foot black and blue with big toe painful and swollen this accident happened on april 27 2018 just today at another dr apt they discovered the blood flowing around the heart where they say is not normal so am now waiting to see what the cardiologist says when he sees him next month wish they were seeing him sooner as it worries me he is in therapy still but slowly getting better three of his dr s say he is a miracle because the first 5 days they gave us little hope and it was over a week before he again gained consciousness god was good will forever be eternally grateful he still has a long hard road ahead of him but he hasn t given up his boss told us that after the fall ronnie got up and was going to re climb the ladder and he had to hold him down till the ambulance arrived and they rushed him straight to albany medical hosp about 50 miles away because he was in such bad shape for our local hospital to handle wish didn t have to wait till next month to know the degree of damage to the heart blood vessel praying something that can be repaired easily still working in my wood shop have my walk around garden again this year call it a walk around because years ago i built standards to hold earth boxes so i can still have a garden too hard getting up from the floor or ground for the normal ground gardens also still turning over my compost bins doing my best to stay active to live longer has the aneurysm in the back of my head checked again this year and still only 5 mm in size so good so far 4 years and no change which is good one son walt and his daughter jen took me with them to virginia and then to myrtle beach in s carolina where we joined another granddaughter millie and grandson walter and their families for a wonderful weeks vacation many hours of riding but everyone had a great time was gone for 9 days 1st vacation in years was great seeing everyone had been a long been almost a year since i have updated my blogger another summer almost over lost a beautiful granddaughter and 2 more wonderful cousins which will be terribly missed but on the happy side i became a great great grandmother on july 11 2017 had so much planned to accomplish this summer but took another fall june 3rd which upset all those plans here it is over 9 weeks later and still can t wear the right shoe so still can t drive or do much never broke anything just messed up all the ligaments muscles etc in the right foot dr told me would take 12 to 14 weeks to heal guess i thought i would heal quicker but so far doesn t look that way still keeping up most of the day still ice packing swelling gone down a whole lot not mammoth any more but still more to go tried to get my shoe on thursday didn t want to look like an invalid at the funeral home but had to keep wearing the boot see dr again on friday before the fall had everything set to make the 3 car tires wishing well for my back yard still waiting to be able to get back working in my woodshop to cut and build the top that goes over the tires thanks to a s i law was able to still have my walk around garden again this year still use the earth boxes sitting up on the standards i made years ago finally started caring for it myself a week ago since there is no weeding with it up higher just have to keep the water section of the boxes filled with the hose and pick vegetables as they ripen so little real work there still enjoying the summer squash zucchini and cucumbers lettuce and spinach have ended plus more tomatoes still ripening plum cherry big boy and sandwich types all from the earth boxes plus have been enjoying the string beans growing in a small area by the shop have some large containers with carrots and beets growing larger in them hoping to can them later when finished growing have string beans frozen in freezer also hoping to be able to can and freeze tomatoes for winter love my fresh garden veggies my sweet pug roo is now 6 years old and as sweet as ever this last winter was his first winter ever going outside due to his front legs disability and the fact we had less snow had to keep shoveling with his body being soo close to the ground he loves going out in the summer but can t stay out very long as he doesn t handle hot days very well he gave me a bad scare a few months ago he had a seizure and i thought i was losing him i thank god that he made it and so far no new problems with his little legs problems he was born with he already has enough to handle have soo much to thank my family for since my fall made it to a great granddaughter graduation from high school plus the party at their home and also to a daughters party because one of my sons provided my transportation and a lounge chair that kept my foot elevated all the time i was there also made it to a niece s wedding shower thanks to a sister taking me with her plus to the baby shower before my great great grandson was born thanks to a daughter taking me also to see the baby at their home thanks to the same daughter who is his grandmother another daughter has been driving me to all the dr apts then the youngest daughter brought her riding lawnmower and did both my properties for me i am soo very lucky to have such helpful family a son provided transportation to my cousin s funeral a few days ago then all that help from a son in law with the garden he also bring the newspaper every morning and leaves it on my porch so i haven t had to walk out to get it i thank god for all of them it is now 10 am guess i will go cook some breakfast finally feeling hungry still have cooked pancakes left so just cooking an egg and making some tea to add to it wishing everyone a wonderful week end love to all my family and 28th haven t accomplished much today but did manage to turn over the compost bins hoping to make more good soil for the flower beds next spring seems like each year the raked up leaf pile grows much larger think i should have bought some town trash bags and bagged some of them for the town to pick up maybe next year but should have a lot less leaves to rake next year since the heavy wet snow over a week ago broke down parts off the tree behind my wood shop glad we have only had this one snow storm so far this year part of the tree landed between my sitting area and wood shop while part of the tree landed out behind the shop left that tall tree with two very week sections so the whole tree needed to be cut down one son used his chain saw to cut down the tree while another son his wife and their son were pulling on the rope guiding the tree to the only safe open space for it to land they did a great job guiding it one son cut the tree up and they all helped pull the branches and logs out near the road for the town to pick up before the town went through a neighbor asked if he could bring over his chain saw and cut any pieces large enough for him to burn for heat of course i said he could take all he could use the wet snow had toppled trees all over town so they decided to make a special run cleaning them up at first they told us we had to keep the brush and cut up trees on our property till next spring but with so many complaints they changed their mind glad they did on top of house repairs my hot water tank decided to give out son with a truck picked up my new tank and also unhooked the old tank and hooked up the new one for me as i have said before i do have great helpers reminded me of that old saying it never rains but it pours hot water tank gave out while they were still working on the house house finished and the very next day we had the wet heavy snow storm bringing down the tree while i was sleeping god was good since all the tree sections landed between places where it could have caused lots of damage first is the branches between the sitting area and the wood shop 2nd is branches from a neighbors tree that landed by the wood fence in my backyard 3rd is more from my tree landing in my back year and 4th is the tall remaining part of the tree to be cut down with the branches from the 1st tree in front of it i had turned this picture before posting it but here it is posting sideways again that skinny tall tree off to the left is what was showing lots higher than the roof of the wood shop that tree was useful keeping the hot afternoon sun in the summer from heating up the shop as much i thought there was only the fallen tree section by the shop till the next day i decided to walk into my shop and check to see if the windows hidden by the branches were ok not broken but then i saw the back yard through the larger window in the back of my shop saw all the tree branches in the back yard and let my son know there was even more cutting to jan 2016 home repairs done here it is november 12 2016 been a long time since i have written here in my blog a lot has happened over the last year now over 2 years since i had both shoulders operated on right shoulder doing good but still some pain in the left one often wonder if the pain might be caused by the two anchors used to hold it together think they are made from titanium metal but not certain had this awful pain in the right side of my head that woke me one night it was very severe and each pain came and went exactly with my heartbeats when my heart skipped a beat there was no pain i have a normal skip this went on for a few minutes and suddenly stopped then there was a slight pain with a feeling of pressure that slowly was moving upwards around my temple and then down the right side of my head and only left pressure in my head near my right ear which remained for weeks saw a dr who took x rays which showed nothing wrong no one ever found the cause of that very terrible pain but a few months later i did get another dr to have an mra done which showed something so they then did an mri and discovered an aneurism in the back of my head i had a 4mm aneurism arising from the inferior division near the right middle cerebral artery bifurcation dr decided not to operate on it due to my age he felt it more risky to operate at age 85 than it would be to leave it alone so that was last january 15 2016 when he told me that so i now wonder how much it might have grown in the past 10 months my next dr apt to have it checked is on february 1st 2017 so a few more months before i will know more since i still work making items in my wood shop using all kinds of saws and other tools i keep praying nothing happens while i an doing things with saws or while i might be out driving in my car as i don t want to hurt anyone if the aneurism should burst from what i have been told it should only grow about 2 a year so if i am lucky it might never happen in my lifetime normally they grow about 1 but since my father died from one bursting in his head it gives me a 2 growth rate then along came my apt with the rheumatologist for the problems with my hands and wrists severe arthritis which i already knew with the head problem this dr didn t want to give me any meds so ordered a gel to rub on my hands and wrists which help with both the swelling and pain it is called diclofenac sodium topical gel and i have since learned it is prescribed for other kinds of pain also tried it on my left shoulder but it didn t ease that pain he also ordered an arm wrist support that the thumb slides into which helps supports and gives more strength to my right hand at my last apt he ordered a new one for the right hand wrist and also one for the left hand wrist for more support hard to do much wearing both of them but i do still wear the right one most of the time this dr has now left the practice and my next apt in april will be with a new dr thankful for the gel as it helps loads this month is my apt with the dr who handles my sleep apnea and the c pap equipment orders next month are two more dr s one handles my eye problems double vision for years was told by a specialist it was caused by a minnie stroke he believes and now added a wrinkle in the center of my right eye which i was told if i was younger they would operate and remove the wrinkle but here again age matters so the dr just keeps a close check on it in case it changes seems like every time i see my dr i am sent to see a specialist me who hates wasting money seeing dr s is lately seeing too many but i am very thankful to god for giving me such a long life and allowing me to stay active and on my feet able to live alone and still take care of my home my loving pug roo and myself in case i haven t mentioned it before my little pug was originally named by me friend who is a breeder of small dogs because when he was born with front leg disabilities he would sit up like a kangaroo for long periods of time he is now 5 years old and with all the therapy i did with him as a puppy he can walk on all 4 paws even thought the legs won t completely open and still often sits up on his fanny with his front legs in front of him like a kangaroo he loves everyone especially having the great grandchildren play with him he is my biggest reason for getting up every morning he keeps the house from feeling empty or lonely went to a nursing home last week to visit a cousin my heart breaks for her and her family as she has advanced problems where she knows you and then often forgets and will ask who you are i am grateful for the good conversations we did have the following day i had visitors i hadn t seen in years one of which lives a long ways away in another state was wonderful catching up with each other so much had happened over the years they are almost like family since one is the sister other sister in law to a daughter in law who also lives out of state and i hear from often by phone halloween night was great love seeing all those little kids in their cute costumes last year had 36 this year 37 some were older children but i would rather keep giving candy to these nice kids and keep them from getting into trouble like some older ones d...
