3 and you just have to live with not being amazing at the 3 rd discipline that s life kiddo you are sufficiently good at all 3 disciplines but don t amaze in any one of them the phrase jack of all trades master of none comes into my head if you try and excel in too many things do you end up being an all round mediocre performer is it perhaps the easier way out for creative team s to save time and money and get a 3 in one performer who can do everything sufficiently well rather than hire 2 performers who can perform their strongest discipline exceptionally well it s just like washing your with many of his great female roles definitely on my to play list and so it was that when asked how i felt about his latest project in which he is looking for the next superstar to play the title role published january 21 2012 by restingactress i have had a bit of a downer week this week my awful job to audition ratio has been leaning very heavily towards the awful job side whilst all around me it seems jobs are being handed out like copies of the metro for a little support and reassurance i did what any of us would do and called my agent now my agent is not quite the agent that i had dreamt of his suit looks like a matalan cast off and is two sizes too big for him as if he was hoping to save a few quid and grow into it his office is hardly a central location and is barely even an office but his heart is in the right place even if his office isn t after writing to and meeting many agents i decided to sign with the one that wanted me one of life s easier decisions to make having said that he was eager passionate and had a few people bringing him in the odd bit of commission so there was a glimmer of hope i handed over my batch of head shots and got my spotlight page changed over now it was over to him since then i have had numerous paranoia attacks that he was a con man who s office was actually just a pop up bit of scenery in a disused warehouse and as soon as i left he packed it all up in a suitcase and shot off to mexico with all my cash when i calmed down i realised i hadn t actually given him any cash and if i had it wouldn t have been enough to get to wigan let alone mexico however the thought of my career being in his hands has given me a few restless nights so yesterday i called him hello now answering the phone as if it hadn t rang in weeks was not the best of starts it sounded as if the phone had rang and at first he didn t realise what it was once he finally worked out how to answer it and then who i actually was we got the small talk out of the way and plunged straight in there with the classic line that all actors instinctively pick up throughout their career and that all agents hear just before they smash their heads against their desk in utter disspair any auditions coming up as he began his well oiled and scripted reply about what s in the pipe work and that it is just a matter of waiting for somebody to bite and the good old maybe it s your head shots one i started to drift has he actually done anything with me yet had this phone call just reminded him that he had actually signed me or is his version of being on his books just having my head shot sat on top of his set of collin s encyclopaedias maybe he thought he was a secret agent so has been keeping a low profile oh lord webber have the last four months been as big of a insecurities my worries my future aspirations and dreams and my ever increasing struggle to get one inch across that no mans land to employment without him whimpering one solitary word well i pleaded
