happy hawkins family skip to main skip to sidebar happy hawkins family thursday september 29 2011 a couple of firsts first time to church grandma made a new tie just for the occasion he is so handsome first bath all the boys had their first bath given to them by daddy kade loved it vance and carter had to help of course posted by kimber at 9 58 pm 3 comments little bean when we first told our boys we were having another baby we told them baby was the size of a bean now but would soon grow big and then we would have a new baby from that point on baby was dubbed little bean and even now kade is still called little bean although we have had these comments from the other two carter it s not little bean it s kade vance we better stop calling him little bean so he doesn t get confused he s kade despite these comments they both continue to call kade little bean and so do mom and dad we love this little bean this pregnancy and delivery were so different from the other two it is amazing with vance and carter my water broke at home two weeks early around midnight and we had baby by morning kade decided to wait til he was two days early to come several days prior i had pretty steady contractions and got excited but they never got closer than 15 min apart and not any stronger darn it was so new to me to time contractions anyway that i was convinced that once you have to start timing they just got closer together no such luck on wednesday the 24th i had a doctors appointment at which he stripped my membranes another new experience for me which helps put you into labor it worked by the time i got back my contractions started again and continued to come closer and more intense again being new to the timing contractions bit i followed the doctors instructions and once i had consistent contractions 3 5min apart for an hour i called adam and headed to the hospital exciting and new i felt like a first time mom all over once there they debated sending me home please no i don t want to be pregnant anymore but decided i should stay unfortunately my doctor was stuck at another hospital and wouldn t let them break my water another new experience or start pitocin i did get an epidural which was fantastic but it did slow my contractions once they finally got word from the doctor they broke my water as things progressed again my doctor was stuck at another hospital really and so i was not allowed to have my baby nurses told me that if they would have been allowed to break my water when they wanted and give me pitocin i probably would have had the baby by 6 pm but as it was kade was not born until 10 24 my memory is a little hazy but i remember adjusting my position to see if contractions would come more consistantly and like lightening the pain hit and i got nauseous and i threw up in my mind i remember thinking this is how i felt after i had carter and the epideral was wearing off crap contractions started coming hard and fast and let me say it hurt especially cause i wanted to push and they said no that is the most painful part when they don t let you push getting the baby out isn t that bad and afterwards i felt amazing i don t know if all the drugs wore off it sure felt like it but i was pretty impressed with myself for a natural delivery i still am a believer in the epidural however so once the doctor was there and i was able to push and baby came pretty quick it is the first time i really remember holding and seeing the baby when he first comes out and the doctor puts him on my tummy for me to see it was amazing sweet baby kade he is a good eater has put on major poundage but still has tummy issues just like my other two did he looks like carter but has the build of vance solid with a big head he so far has been slow to smile with his mouth but i can see the smile in his eyes i swear he had control of his arms from the first minute he does not like the nuk but i am trying to train him otherwise he sleeps pretty well he is up twice at night and is starting to stay awake for longer periods during the day he is the first to even sort of like the swing when he is hungry he practically rolls himself all the way over trying to find mom and the milk i swear he is going to roll himself over before he is two months old he likes to sleep on his side he hates to be swaddled and must have his hands and arms free of the blankets he likes to have his face and head rubbed stroked he is a back archer and loves his head back oh and we finally found the magic hold for when he is fussy works like magic 90 of the time bum in the crook of the elbow tummy resting on the heel of the hand so there is pressure head up with the other had holding in the nuk i don t have a picture yet but will post when i get one love this baby kade my little bean vance loves kade he can t get enough he is constantly asking to hold him and continually smothering him in kisses to the point that i have to limit them to give the baby some breathing room he is a wonderful and loving big brother love it carter isn t so sure about kade he has gone through a few phases already the ignore that baby is alive phase mom come help me and play with me phase when he was so independent before ignore mom phase i am a baby phase and just recently has started to give him kisses headed home welcome home kade the boys got kade that puppy as a gift posted results overall i would say swim lessons were a success i no longer worry about vance and carter is a little fish he loves to swim but he worries me still because he can t come up for a breath without help but has no fear about jumping in or taking off swimming on his own but overall swim lessons were great this year thank you kaylene posted by kimber at 3 03 pm no comments saturday june 4 2011 swim lessons swim lessons 2011 have begun here are some shots from the first lesson carter is taking lessons whether he likes it or not he hates it but at least this year he is doing what he is asked while screaming instead of just screaming vance is still a little nervous but is already making progress don t let the video fool you this first lesson went pretty good but once he went under water the screaming began second lesson he was screaming before he even got in the water yay for swim lessons posted by kimber at 11 08 am no comments pine valley we have found a new getaway pine valley so beautiful this past february we were able to go with david and andrea to their cabin in pine valley beautiful snow time to relax read by the fire snow ball fights good food and an unusual amount of snow we had a blast apparently we were good company because they invited us to go again when there is no snow so memorial day weekend we packed up and headed up to the cabin beautiful greenery time to relax shooting motorcycle track making adam and david cleared a track around the cabin so the kids could ride too motorcycle riding fishing reading by the fire good food a little shopping and a movie in st george and an unusual amount of snow they swear they never get snow on memorial day weekend but it seems that every time we go there is snow no worries though we love snow it only lasted a few hours before it was beautiful again now if i can convince my parents to get a cabin up there we will be set i wish i had more pictures but when you are having fun its hard to stop and be the photographer although dave was the one who cast everyone s line i did reel in 2 fish now i just need to learn to cast for myself vance fishing he only lasted a few minutes he did get to reel in a fish but it got away right at shore next time vance this is where carter spent most the time fishing we went super early so it was cold and he was tired not a good combination for carter adam with the 7 fish we i mean dave caught carter got scared before he even got on the bikes so if you asked him if he like the motorcycles he would say no but while he was riding he told dad he was having fun vance loved the motorcycles he wanted to go again and again vance waiting for everyone else to come out and play in the snow i love vance s expressions he is so excited about the snow miss addison in the found in their basket they get an empty egg to symbolize the empty tomb where christ had been laid christ was not found for he had been resurrected i do love the fun of candy but i want my boys to remember the true reason we celebrate easter christ is our savior and he died for us and because he was resurrected we will all receive that give also of course there were new ties but i didn t get a
