teachers pay teachers tpt stands for teachers pay teachers it is an online marketplace where teachers and parents can purchase and download free products to help support student education resources in all subjects and grade levels can be found and they range in prices from free to 200 with most products being under 5 at first i felt guilty purchasing products on tpt to be used in my classroom i began to realize that i could purchase something for 3 or 4 and save myself 6 8 hours of my time making it that to me is well worth it in my first year of teaching i was teaching a lot of subjects and grade levels that i was unfamiliar with planning units became very time consuming because i was having to research and plan the content before teaching it tpt is the first place i check before i begin planning because often i can find what i am looking for for free usually i can t make something as nice and as pretty either tpt offers a variety of sales throughout the year it s a great idea to join their mailing list to get notified when there are upcoming sales their sales are often 20 off which means you can save even more on products that are already inexpensive something that i recently learned about tpt blew my mind if you leave a review on a purchase you made not a free download you can actually earn credits to be applied on future purchases it s a win win you help the seller build a trusted reputation and you give yourself a credit to use towards your next purchase in my tpt shop i am focusing on art resources because that is my speciality i have products for middle school and high school art still curious about what tpt is visit my shop here and follow me so you can see new resources that i put out check out some of my products here click on any of the images if you are interested in learning more about the product even if you are not a teacher and you are a parent tpt is worth the look you will be able to find activities worksheets and more to help your child with a topic they might be struggling in here is the link to follow me on tpt and check out my shop share this share on pinterest opens in new window pinterest share on facebook opens in new window facebook year worth of blog content as an artist in less than 3 months i am currently typing up this blog post and it is only the beginning of february this blog post you are reading is being scheduled for december i am sharing how as an artist i created a year s worth of blog content in less than 3 months check out all my wonderful tips below this year i made a goal to post on my blog every two weeks i have had a blog for over 5 years now but i have struggled with finding the time to post consistently so that s why my goal was to post bi weekly because even though it seemed like a lot for me it seemed more manageable there are no real rules for how often you should post or how long a post should be besides the rules we create for ourselves do what is right you can always add more next year 1 brainstorm your blog content i thought about this idea for scheduling a year s worth of blog posts in advance in around mid december i knew that i wanted to post more often but also knew when i am out of time writing a blog post is usually the first thing i cut from my to do list i started by brainstorming a list on blog topics titles on my phone i created a mixture of content like upcoming art exhibitions previous artworks i had not shared before my annual art sale how to lists and tips for artists i knew i needed 26 different posts 2 create images for your content in bulk i created most of my images on canva i would use the free canva app on my phone and choose a pre existing pinterest graphic template i added my brand colours and chose the font i wanted and added in my images i even added some free stock photography to save time on certain posts since i knew all of my titles and used a template it didn t take very long to create the graphics each time i was done i downloaded it to my phone and imported the photo as a new draft blog post 3 write out your outlines for each post work in batches once i knew my topic i wrote a point form outline i wrote a lot of blog posts as lists how to articles which were quick for me to write i gave myself about 5 10 min per outline and often did this while watching tv or relaxing 4 fill in the information for your blog posts give yourself a deadline or goal after all my outlines were done i worked on my laptop to finish the rest i added introductions alt text in my images tags and keywords i also read each post out loud before scheduling to make sure there wasn t a lot of errors i gave myself a few days to do this because i often want things to be perfect and i don t want to overthink things and waste too much time remember you can always update a scheduled post if you need to batching work or working in chunks of time is really helpful because your brain is already in the zone so it is easy for words and ideas to just flow to you 5 think about and plan your year ahead on a piece of paper write out the months of the year and plan out anything that you know is happening like an upcoming exhibition an art sale etc once you have your year roughly mapped out you can plan around it you can lead up to something by showing a sneak peek 6 add in call to actions that are related to your goals call to actions are at the end of each post you want to add variety to your call to actions and engage with people on other platforms like pinterest instagram another website your mailing list etc if you have a goal to grow your mailing list then you can add more call to actions related to that 7 schedule your posts accordingly once your posts are ready to go you can schedule them out you can space them out accordingly in a way that makes sense to you maybe you want to post weekly or daily whatever you decide you can do it 8 repurpose old content remember that you have new followers all the time new followers have not seen old content and old followers do not remember old content so don t worry about reposting a post that was successful in the past remember to share the blog posts you create repurpose this content by pinning on pinterest sharing on a facebook page or sharing part of a post as an instagram caption follow me on pinterest to see some more of my repurposed content do you schedule your posts in advance let me know in the comments other helpful posts 6 tips for hitting your art goals how i increased my pinterest views share this share on pinterest opens in new window pinterest share on
