pretty little things wednesday july 10 2013 barbie fashion show i found this barbie in a flea market when i still lived in indiana before anyone gets too excited she is a reproduction but its funny that even as a reproduction she s quickly approaching the time frame for vintage herself in the realm of online selling 20 years or older she was still in the box and i thought she would be so cute to display in my daughters room heidi was 2 at the time and quickly discovered how to climb up to shelves and quickly destroyed the box she still displays well and even though my daughter enjoys playing with all her barbies this one she keeps on her dresser and plays with her very gently this is the outfit she came in and how cute are her shoes the answer is very one thing heidi has always lamented was that this doll needed more clothes because when she put her in her modern barbie clothes it didn t look right when my mother in law came to visit we went to a few thrift stores and as luck would have it she found a few bags of vintage barbie clothes it took me a few weeks to get around to washing them some i wasn t able to salvage due to being so stained or torn but most of the bag was pure gold these were a few of my favorites happy to report when winter hits barbie will be ready this year here is one i wish was in my size these too gingham is just so perfect for summer there were a few capri pants in the bag the others were crazy floral prints that we haven t found tops that match yet barbie is also set for autumn this one like a few others in the bag i believe those sew it yourself pieces when i put this one on i had one of those barbie dresses sexier than i do for bed realizations even though i felt like a creep for this shot i had to get a better detail shot cause her panties having a birthday tomorrow so i ve put my etsy shop on 25 off until late sunday night i don t think we ll be doing anything big my guy is a bit of a scrooge about holidays birthdays and especially his birthday but i got him a cake and he s going to be tormented through a round of happy birthday from the kids and myself all the same i understand his disdain for these things because he feels commercialism has replaced the idea of what holidays and celebrations should really be about enjoying time with friends and family pretty sure though if i could afford to get him a harley and drum set a few neat items these past 2 weeks that i thought i d share here first i ll share my trade goods i did with one of my instagram pals darlene she had her eye on some ballerina wall hangings a cardigan and lucite confetti bracelet i had and in return i scored this bakelite cherry necklace and charm necklace from her i ve coveted the cherries for over a decade but could never justify spending the money on one and was never lucky to stumble across one at an estate or thrift the charm necklace is so kitschy cute at the antique mall i picked up this czech glass perfume decanter for 5 00 it ll display pretty in the pink bathroom i hope to one day have i picked up this glass bottle that i want to fill with pink soap and display in the laundry room i don t currently have a laundry room just a damp dark basement but i m looking to move into a place by the end of summer as i ve got my husband on board with the realization that we ve outgrown our current home already the one i have my eye on has one and yes i ve taken to decorating it in my head already which is setting myself up to be disappointed if it doesn t pan out but fingers crossed all the same have you guys picked up anything fun jean was sweet enough to send me a gift certificate to modcloth for my birthday it took a few weeks to decide what i wanted and when they were having a cabin fever sale i jumped at the chance to use my birthday present for those of you that don t know i live in the upper peninsula of michigan where the winters are very long and harsh so here it is the end of april and yesterday finally showed some spring weather with even warmer weather today sure there is still a few feet of snow on the ground but it ll be gone soon i m excited i can finally wear one of the dresses i got with my gift certificate from her and here it is her gift certificate also covered some of the purse too which i was happy about originally the purse was 115 99 and its cute but whoa its not that cute if you have that kinda cash to blow on a purse more power to you but i don t on clearance for 34 99 was something i could do though and happily did at first i was going to take the strap off but its amazing going shopping with the use of both hands i m so use to vintage handbags that i ve certainly neglected the wonderful world of strap purses here is a close up of my cat eyes i am thankful everyday that i i saw yahoo news announcing the george jones has passed away at 81 i admit i got teary eyed i like a wide variety of music and a lot of people roll their eyes when you say you like country but they re thinking modern country george jones was real country the real deal music can play such a huge influence in your life and mr jones music definitely was a big one in my life i was first introduced to him courtesy of my grandparents as a child they d sit in their chairs in the garage watching the neighborhood go by as the country station played on the radio in the backdground a budweiser in one hand and a marlboro red in the other because of his age i can t say i m totally shocked but it does make me sad all the same though his psychical body is gone his music is eternal here are a few black
