let s sing some more three twos are six four twos are eight no more tears just assimilate five twos are ten it s easier when everyone sings let s do it again multiplication is hard but singing times tables the slowest kids to learn it enables six twos are twelve seven twos are fourteen can we go further remains to be seen when we re all in tune and everyone chants our confidence grows our skills enhance eight and nine soon come and go ten twos are twenty fingers and toes eleven and twelve we sing at our ease the twos are done so onto the threes a most enjoyable method of learning hurrah for the teacher so discerning anyone else sing their times tables share this share on facebook opens in new window facebook email a link to a friend opens in new window email share on x opens in new disappearance of course he was quite an old bird as was ms sybil his mistress but while her death was suitably recorded the fate of mr hotfoot jackson appears to have provoked no reaction maybe he died though did you ever see a dead jackdaw never mind a dead talking jackdaw perhaps he returned to the forest and keeps his counsel there i hope so mr hotfoot jackson was the familiar of white witch to see and when he d finished talking the crowd wanted their dinner but nothing could he give to them not any saint or sinner then andrew said now here s a lad has barley loaves and cod well they re no use did jesus say unless they think i m god or derren brown or david blaine or another superstar but then andrew reminded him it s god they think you are he waved his hands lo and behold the food it multiplied and everyone ate all they could raw or boiled or fried since then no one has done that trick so is the story true for now it s to the shops we go it s all that we can do share this share minutes quiet contemplation have a little think maybe take stock what s it all about anyway where do we go to from here us seagulls i mean not you lot your destiny s mapped and quite clear but seagulls don t die we re immortal ever seen a seagull that s dead so what is the point in us living i can t work it out in my head can t believe it s october tomorrow the holidaymakers soon gone so no more nicking their ice cream or pinching a sandwich or scone but surely we have a high purpose for a reason we re put on this earth i can t figure out what it is though us seabirds have surely some worth ah well i d better get going and join the lads in the royal square and our lunch will sadly be breadcrumbs the life of a bird is unfair share this share on facebook opens in new window facebook comments there is a curious shop of some renown if you might wish to seek it out some day it s in the market of st helier town ask anyone and they will tell the way it hasn t changed a bit in many years you might then pop along for just a look and if your spirit s low just dry those tears for wondrous items you could write a book and if you happen to need say some string just pop inside and with the ladies speak of course they ll say we have the very thing they ll scuttle off to look the floorboards creak if you are at wits end just stop and pause just head on down to red triangle stores here s string they say we have it just for you and in all sizes long standard and short now tell us would you like red white or blue if nothing suits we ll order or import maybe you d like to see our other stock i think perhaps you d like to buy a tool a wrench hammer maybe a padlock a screwdriver perhaps a 12 inch rule suitcases to go on your holiday air freshener to make your house smell sweet knew as letter post and traffic grew someone said this will not do we need a letter box or two the first in britain made its debut in jersey year of 52 a fine post office then was built to cater for the increased trade letter writing was a thing and sending letters simply made the jersey people thought it great to send a letter to aunt may write all the news and stick a stamp to be delivered the following day then visitors came to our shores and postcards then became a thing they d write a dozen to their friends and in the box their postcards fling the posties had a terrible time sorting mail for different places so they hatched a brand new plan to put a smile back on their faces local and other destinations now were choices you sorted out your own damn mail and put it in the proper slot or delivery was bound to fail one day the man unlocked the box as i sorted out my mail with care i said my man you need to wait to use the wrong slot i don t dare the postie looks at me and sighs looks to heaven rolls his eyes it doesn t work like that no more posties no longer sort with exactitude for bosses with no gratitude and general public being rude so don t act so dramatically and wave your arms fanatically these days it s done by machine automatically share this share on facebook opens in new window facebook email a link to a friend opens in new window email share on x opens in new moment in time you see now the pink of window and door did you ever notice before until i wrote this rhyme what made the owner paint it pink perhaps he d had a little to drink no it was because he was a magot a political party of popularity the magots brought in welcome stability then they adopted the rose then the landed gentry of the rose made it clear the laurel they would oppose and painted their buildings pink but now look again at the granite hue does it somehow appear to you with tinges of pink ruby and salmon it is a unique type of stone and nowhere else known it s from nearby mont mado quarry the quarry is gone for many a year its granite all taken away so i fear now jersey cows graze at their ease share this share on facebook opens in new window facebook email a link to a the west to better guard their german guests tennis courts showers electric light and plenty food to their delight and neither did they have to fight and when the war was won and lost aggression shown
