october 4 2025 by baileyrosy 9 it s a new month and that means a new theme over at the flower challenge this time around we are asking you to add the colour purple to your floral creations i knew exactly what i was going to make which is rare indeed for me i recently acquired the project life magnificent magnolia kit from altenew which comes with stamps dies stencils and an embossing folder and i couldn t wait to use it i used distress oxides and a jot of glossy accents on the centre of the bloom the sentiment is from the greetery which i discovered whilst in the uk and spent an absolute fortune on crafty goodies we do hope you will join us at the flower challenge my teamies have once again created a vast array of fabulous florals for your delectation try saying that several times after imbibing a few cocktails i m linking up to cardz 4 gals who are asking us to use purple and green in our creations in other news i spent a week in the uk visiting my mother and brother in law both of whom are in care facilities due to their advanced dementia unfortunately my mum doesn t recognise me now she thinks i m her granddaughter but she was very happy to see me and she still has her sense of humour and a twinkle in her eye i did treat myself to all manner of crafting items that i can t get here in greece and managed to spend plenty of time with my little sister in her fabulous craft room she caught the bug from me a few years ago and has ended up with the most fabulous crafty space and amazing stash am i jealous you bet i am wishing you all a fabulous weekend take care fresh inspiration for our sketch challenge which i hope will get your creative juices flowing although i struggled with my first card this one came together more easily the floral die embossing folder to follow a sketch is my crafting nightmare but thank goodness this one wasn t too complicated although it did give me some trouble i finally managed to get there in the end altenew came to my rescue with this super striped floral die and sentiment i used several layers of black cardstock for both although you wouldn t know it from the photo then i matted it onto white and black paper easy peasy just to make it a little more fun we would also like to see a die cut i m not really big on embellishments as you can see by my card so i just added a few gold blobs technical term from pink fresh studio and a little die cut butterfly coloured with watercolor ink markers to my sunflower border press plate image i m having problems with wordpress and it won t for some reason let me make my photo any smaller so please forgive the hugeness here s a second attempt also coloured with watercolour markers and a few more of those gold blobs we do hope you will join us at the flower challenge and if month we would like you to use the colours featured in our mood board i really loved the colours in the mood board but try as i might the colours i used for my card don t seem to be that similar in real life they are very close i ll let you be the judge i couldn t even take a straight photo this was the best i could come up with i used this fantastic flip flop die by a pocket full of happiness with lots of layers of card and foam to make it more sturdy the mighty waves embossing folder by altenew for the background and the sentiment was computer generated this was actually an order for a customer who loves the sea so two birds were killed with one stone actually no birds were injured in the making of this card we would love to see your creations at the flower challenge and as always time around we are asking you to use heat or dry embossing on your floral projects while recovering from surgery i bought a few sets of dies and stamps and one of my favourites is this gorgeous peony from memory box coloured with distress oxides i added a little clear embossing to the leaves and petals unfortunately it isn t very clear from the photo i used an ancient die from spellbinders to cut out an aperture which i then embossed using the scribbled letter embossing folder also from spellbinders we hope you ll join in the fun at the flower challenge the design team has created some amazing floral cards to delight and inspire hopefully when this is published i will be away at my summer home having my first swim of the year i m only allowed 15 minutes per day for the first couple of weeks
