clarity ice proof your windows with vinegar frost on its way just fill a spray bottle with three parts vinegar to one part water and spritz it on all your windows at night in the morning they will be clear of icy mess vinegar contains acetic acid which raises the melting point of water preventing water from freezing prevent car doors from freezing shut with cooking spray spritz cooking oil on the rubber seals around car doors and rub it in with a paper towel the cooking spray prevents water from melting into the rubber fog proof your windshield with shaving cream spray some shaving cream on the inside of your windshield and wipe it off with paper towels shaving cream has many of the same ingredients found in commercial defoggers de ice your lock in seconds with hand sanitizer just put at least for the girls is dress up high heels i can t believe how well little girls can walk in high heels something i have never quite got the hang of lexie s first hair cut it is nice she finally has some almost seems a shame to cut it off we just trimmed the ends a very little bit i was sad i didn t get any pictures of molly while she was here then i remembered she borrowed my camera for a wedding so i get to show off molly and her friend brittany who is one my favorites i love it when she visits our house kelsie is the favorite person in our house when kids come to visit posted by sherri at 12 16 pm 1 comment wednesday august 11 2010 spain this first picture is sitges we took a tour bus to montserrat and stopped at sitges on the way back to barcelona both fun places to visit it would have been nice to have longer on the mountain there is a monastery there we attended mass in the cathredal and visited an amazing museum while we were in sitges we stuck our feet in the mediterranean sea anothe r thing that would have been nice to have more time for the second picture is gerona we took a train from barcelona and spent a day walking around taking pictures and eating at outside cafes we visited the cathedral and walked along a wall that was built when gerona was a roman outpost one of the first days in barcelona we spent a couple of hours at a park that was designed built by gaudi it was all mosaics walls roofs buildings fences molly and james are in a walk way that we liked because it was shady it was hot and humid while we were there molly and i bought a fan the best investment of the whole trip they came in handy every day we were there fans were sold all over barcelona and i planned on bringing back a bunch of them what better present could i find for all my menopausal friends i didn t want to carry them all over spain so i planned to buy them the last day in valencia guess what they weren t being sold all over in valencia and i couldn t find any to bring home with me at least not the cheap tourist ones i fou nd a shop that sold fans and cases to keep them in they ranged from about 35 euros to hundreds of euros for a fan most people come back from vacations saying take half as many clothes and a lot more money it was so hot and humid i would have loved to change my clothes twice a day but didn t pack for that we got a travel visa card and changed money to euros and brought back most of it i packed an extra bag to bring back gifts and souvenirs and never even opened it i got my fan and a lladro we toured the lladro factory really cool and bought a handful of postcards other than that we bought water lots we were always hot and thirsty and paid for taxi s occasionally i did grab three bars of chocolate in the duty free part of the airport to use up my european coins we had a great time saw amazing things had blisters and sunburns and were just worn out by the time we got home but the memories are amazing and i would go back tomorrow if i could dave is starting to put pictures up on his blog http drbair zenfolio com there will be more coming it has been very busy since we got home dave does put pictures on facebook quite often request to be his friend if you are not already and want to see pictures i am still looking for the cord to get pictures from my camera to my computer i put it in a safe place while i was gone by sherri at 6 14 pm 2 comments saturday may 22 2010 abby abigail aloha born 6 35 a m sunday may 9 6 lbs 13 oz 21 5 inches long the first picture of abby was taken the day after she was born the second one is when i was at megan s and she was a few days old she is so beautiful and so sweet abby is so long for a newborn at least one that weighs what she does the next time i see her she will have fattened up and have those cute baby rolls it is getting harder and harder to have the kids and grandkids be so far from home home being wherever i am living at the moment with everyone living in a different direction now we will be lucky to see everyone once a year i think everyone should come to my house every sunday for dinner and i wish i could stop by and pick up a grandchild or play with them while their mom takes a nap for a little while this is one part of my life that is so different than i imagined or hoped for being so anxious to get home and get things done i have accomplished very little when i left in march to go to molly s south dakota was still covered in snow when i came back it was all gone when i left to go to rosie s the trees didn t have any leaves i came back to green lawns trees fully leafed out and lots of green growing things i haven t been to church in my own branch since early march if anyone even remembers me they probably think i am now inactive i drove almost 3 000 miles by myself it is nice to be home posted by sherri at 7 11 am 3 comments sunday may 9 2010 sam i didn t know if i should title this sam or graduation because it is about both sam is my favorite son it is more than he is my only son he is a great kid now adult and i have always been so proud of him he is amazingly talented and smart and kind and good not necessarily in that order on friday he received his doctorate in physical therapy i am sure no one could be happier about it than him but i am a close second right behind jessica it has been i need my thesaurus i can t keep using amazing watching him the last three years every time i see him he has a book in his hand or is on the computer doing homework unless he is playing with his kids or doing laundry or fixing food for them sometimes all of it at the same time i have never seen anyone work harder for something while doing so many other things at the same time i am excited he is finally through school though probably not nearly as excited as jessica i am excited that his family will finally have a house jessica has put up with a lot the last 6 years i am excited for his patients they will love him like everyone else does i am excited about the town he is going to live in what did moms do before the internet i just wish he wasn t moving his family so far away we have loved having them close and can t is 8 days old this picture was taken on the same day as the one above isn t he a handsome little guy i think he is 3 days old here this is when he started to turn yellow another one the same day he has very cute bedding it is pirates corbin was born 3 weeks early he weighed 7 lbs that is a good size for an early baby his shoulders had a hard time getting out rosie pushed for 2 1 2 hours and then they used the vacuum can you imagine if he had 2 or 3 more weeks to put on weight he is a sweet little man we have made several trips to the hospital 30 minutes away to get his blood checked it was high enough he had to keep going back to get checked but never high enough to have to stay under the lights rosie will have a lot more pictures on her blog in a few days she also has a better camera
