share to pinterest challenge 29 a sketch by tara g hey hey all time for another basicgrey challenge thanks so much to all of you who played along to the last challenge it was lovely to see all of the different ways that you used paper piecing we really hope that you can join in with this fortnights challenge too which is a sketch by tara g this fortnights challenge is a wonderful sketch which has been designed by our fab dt girlie tara g as you will see only the papers and image layout is here for you this is because the choice of where what type and how many embellies you use is completely up much to all of you who applied hey all the team and i think its about time we had some new faces added to our little basicgrey challenges family don t you so we have decided to run a design team call and we are looking for 4 new members to add to our little family so here are all the details then please be sure to read everything thoroughly before applying what we are looking for we are looking for 4 new design team members with a love of basicgrey just like us any and all styles of crafting is welcome how long the dt call is open the dt call will be open for 2 weeks closing on saturday the 18th of september at 11 00pm gmt all applications must be received by then how to apply to apply all you need to do is to take part in this fortnights challenge here and leave a link to your creation in the mr linky widget at the bottom of this post please put dt beside your name to try and save confusion to the peeps taking part in this fortnights challenge two posts down please note if the mr linky widget happens to be down then please post your dt application in the comments of this post either by mentioning your entry number from this fortnights challenge so we can find you or by leaving a link to your creation thank you if you do not have a blog to link to then by all means feel free to email us your applications dt requirements as a dt member you would be required to take part in our fortnightly challenges following the theme of the set challenge you will know all of the upcoming challenges in advance so not to worry you would also be required to take part in any other events 28 paper piecing hey hey all time for another basicgrey challenge thanks so much to all of you who played along to the last challenge it was lovely to see all of the different ways fabric was incorporated into your creations we really hope that you can join in with this fortnights challenge too which is paper piecing this week we would love to see some paper piecing used on your creations for those of you not familiar with paper piecing here is a little run down paper piecing is when you have patterned paper on parts of your image or the whole image if you choose instead of your normal colouring of course you can still have normal colouring on parts of your image too if you wish this is actually what most people do and this is done by first stamping your image onto a piece of card this will be your base image and also stamping the same image onto the patterned paper or papers of your choice next you cut the pieces that you wish you piece from your patterned papers and attach them to the base image using an adhesive of your choice you can then continue this process with other patterned papers if you want more piecing on your image or simply leave it be and finish your image with normal colouring of course you can always colour the image before you add the piecing that s completely up to you you don t always have to paper piece an image though you can always create a paper pieced element on your creation like tara w has done for this challenge she has created some beautiful paper pieced flowers using a flower design rubber stamp head on over to her blog to find out more on how she did this as long as a rubber stamp is used to create the base design of your element then you are good to go so there we go a quick little how to on paper piecing we do hope you were able to understand that little bit of rambling and that you are able to follow the directions clearly if not blame martine lol then please do let us know and we will try our best to explain it a
