know this but in the uk gps have the right to refuse trans people healthcare basically whenever they feel like it¹ which means i functionally just haven t had a gp for three years² so every time something is medically wrong with me i m just like well i guess it ll either kill me or it won t ³ anyway i moved again and i might finally have found a gp who doesn t hate trans people hallelujah let s all hold hands and dance around in a circle the only downside is they are terrible at replying to emails but i guess you can t have everything ¹it s a bit more complicated than that but essentially gps can either a refuse to do a shared care agreement or b simply claim that they re not trained in trans healthcare and therefore aren t comfortable issuing hrt even to patients who have been taking it for years this is an ongoing problem has been worsening ever since the cass review you can read more about it here ²when i moved cities none of the gps in my catchment area would agree to prescribe me hrt so to avoid being forcibly detransitioned i just pretended i was stiil at my old address and had my prescriptions forwarded to a local pharmacy really good and sensible system ³or a secret
