big bad stampin tia big bad stampin tia saturday october 8 2011 a boy and his phone sometimes it feels like ethan is constantly on the phone so one day while we were riding trax i decided to capture his obsession i then created this simple page to highlight my feelings i think the scenic route letter paper really brings out the idea of texting finally i have a lot of rub on letter that don t have a lot of letters left int hem but after combining all of them i think i came up with a fun hodge podge design i actually think that i like the crazy title better than i would if it actually all matched posted by tia at 12 18 pm no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest labels scrapbook pages friday october 7 2011 blood donors wanted about tw o years ago i was looking up ideas for halloween titles for scrapbook pages and stumbled across the saying blood donors wanted even though it didn t work for the page that i was working on at the time i thought that it was an awesome idea for some kind of home decor project finally i made a project with the saying for halloween this year and i think that it is coming out cute a little plain but cute i think i m going to do a couple more layers of mod podge and then add some bling or something else if you have any helpful inspiration to help it pop a little i would love suggestions i used a canvas panel for the base of this project i got the idea from my sister in law kory she made us this super cute version using photos of ethan and i for our family s gift exchange last christmas even though i had seen these in the store before i had never given them any attention thanks kory before i attached anything else i painted the whole canvas orange the image of the vampire and the bloody font i used on wanted come form the cricut happy hauntings cartridge the words blood donors comes from the sesame street font cartridge i really do love this and can t wait to hang it posted by tia at 11 37 am no forgotten about them so before i hung up my fall wreath i couldn t help torturing ethan with it first of course it wasn t enough to just torture my poor hubby i also had to take pictures i m so thankful that ethan is so patient with his momentary torture i might feel like a bad wife except for the fact that the pictures turned out so cute except for the clenched teeth he does look like some kind of ancient harvest angel posted by tia at 11 31 am no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest labels decor fall wednesday october 5 2011 cricut craft room for free just go here and get started http www cricut com craftroom enjoy posted by tia at 3 55 pm no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest wednesday september 28 2011 halloween stacker okay so this is my last post for today last night we had an unofficial ward craft night i would like to say thanks to amy for inspiring us melissa for inviting us all into your home and cutting all the wood for us and thanks to all the other wonderful women in our ward for coming i have had so much fun getting to know you all over the last few months and of course last night continued that trend most everyone used the design melissa came up with one more thing i m thankful for but ever since i saw the original inspiration i knew that i wanted to use up some more of my scraps i just didn t know that i was going to be the rebel crafter of the night so the picture here is of my project and i will up load another pic once i finish my second one finally thanks to all the girls who brought ribbon anna april and maybe others the ribbon really tops the whole thing off nicely the fonts i used for the top two tiers of my stacker are from the halloween haunting cartridge and the font on the bottom is from opposites attract posted by tia at 1 38 pm no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest labels halloween home decor fall wreath i loved my summer banner so much that i could help but to make another one this one is for the fall and so it isn t quite as bright but i still think that it is super cute i used a lot of scraps and just one piece of new paper from the imaginisce fall line for me it was nice to be able to use up some of the scraps that i have been collecting since our move here i don t know who keeps coming into my room and cutting up paper but i already have a lot of scraps that really is a surprise to me since i decided when we left utah that it would be silly to pack up and move all of my scraps so if you look close you will see that a number of the papers are used only once since a number of them were small strips i used buttons to cover up the centers of my medallions on this wreath posted by tia at 1 31 pm no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest labels home decor summer home banner and wreath now that we are officially setting up house here in texas i decided that we needed a little something something to really make our apartment home therefore in true crafter style i decided that our new decorations would have to be home made okay i know that the first thing that you think of when you hear the word wreath isn t summer but i saw this idea in the new stampin up mini catalogue and i knew that i had to try it first i made the home banner using some retired stampin up dsp and coordinating cardstock when i went to cut out the triangle shapes i was shocked and slightly appalled that of all the cricut cartridges i own i didn t have a single cartridge with a bloody triangle there isn t even a triangle on the accent essentials cartridge in the end i found a good compromise for the triangles i used the piece of pizza on the simply charmed cartridge then i made a medallion to go behind each letter finally i used storybook to cut out the letters i don t know if i just use too much glue int he middle of my medallions but some of mine have big ugly centers i used the letters to cover up the centers of the medallion this is why a couple of my letters look like they are off center i cut all the scraps to 1 3 inches each then using my score pal i scored each strip at 1 2 inch intervals it takes two stripe of the same width to make each circle so be prepared to do a lot of scoring i did mine while catching up with my tivo recordings finally once everything is scored you just do alternating mountain and valley folds along the score lines finally glue the ends of the two strips together i used hot glue and then add more glue in the center to make the circle shape sorry if this explanation isn t very clear i will try to create a step by step demo so you can really see the process this is really a pretty easy project and as you can see from the pictures i think it makes a big impact posted by tia at 1 04 pm no comments email this blogthis share to x share to facebook share to pinterest labels banners home decor
