forever and ever skip to main skip to sidebar forever and ever tuesday april 12 2011 november 2010 november 2010 i m incredibly grateful for the home we live in but it s in need of some major updating and since we rent we can t exactly choose to do things here are some before pictures after notice the windows the windows before were super old and only single paned some of the windows would get ice on the inside when it was very cold outside after they got the windows installed they started on the siding and it is a huge difference the inside needs a lot of updating as well but we ll take what we can get i keep hoping that we ll buy something of our own but just when my husband gets my hopes up they get shot down so until then i m going to be grateful for what i have now despite the small living quarters it is a 2 story home but the basement is totally unfinished so it s used for storage only bailey is a little stinker she s been in whitney and marissa s room and has gotten a bottle of their perfume some of my old sunflowers that they use when dressing up she walked into where i was with the biggest grin on her face and giggled she was waiting for me to tell her no she does this all the time she gets into things she s knows she s not supposed to and comes right to me before i can even say anything she gets a big grin and just giggles cause she knows what i m going to tell her grandma dawn sent some hats and flowers we were playing dress up but they didn t stay on very long again in the girls room i think she s trying to open their lip gloss she loves lip gloss chapstick anything that goes on the lips that tastes good i tell the girls to shut their door before leaving for school because they get mad when she goes in there and gets into things and makes a mess and then they have to clean it they might learn one of these days i love her dimples so the girls teacher had some puppies dropped off at her house they were trying to get rid of and the girls kept begging to let them get one i told them we d go look at them they begged and begged to let them get one i kept telling them dad wouldn t approve well we came home with both of them and i was right dad didn t approve so i listed them on craigslist and they were gone the next day they were super cute though and the kids were very sad they couldn t keep them i would have kept the golden one he s scratching his ear first picture i would let my family take of me for the past year somewhat willingly being on prednisone steroid medication for a year makes you gain a ton of weight in my case at least 20 pounds and makes your face look as round as the moon it was incredibly difficult to even go in public but when it s the only thing that helps to get a disease somewhat stabilized you re willing to do whatever the unfortunate thing is that the weight and moon face don t just come off when you stop the medicine this was 3 months of being off it and my cheekbones were somewhat starting to appear again i have a tub of sugar and flour that rolls out of my cabinet and she had gotten the cup and helped herself to the sugar she s a smart one our new dog callie we gave brian s hunting dog tucker back to it s original owner and found a 3 year old pure golden lab for free on craigslist she s much more mellow than tucker we re able to keep her out of a kennel and she doesn t run for miles without knowing where she s at the kids love her first piggies with curlers in woke up to a mist of snow it looked pretty to have everything frosted with a lite layer the view out our new windows before it was usually foggy on the inside of our window if i was ever running the hot water or cooking over my stove top when it was cold out now i don t have that problem ever it s wonderful to actually see out my windows not a lot of snow but enough to go sledding on thanksgiving day it was so cold too brian carson hunter marissa whitney kenzie kaden the girls taking turns holding baby ellie bailey is attracted to babies if there s a baby around that s all she wants grandma was holding ellie and bailey spotted her and needed on grandma s lap also to give ellie loves she was not happy when grandma thought she d had enough hugs she was devastated now it s all better that grandma is giving her another turn but every time grandma pulled her away it resulted in more tears so grandma set ellie next to her she was looking at me making sure i was seeing that she was holding her she s so much help home after a fun long thanksgiving day at grandpa and grandma salisbury s these blisters are the reason for her bandage in the previous photos thanksgiving we d gone to my parents house and i d dropped off all the kids and food but had forgotten something at home so i ran home to get it well my parents had just started their pellet stove for the winter and bailey wasn t aware that it s hot and you don t touch it i came back over and she was screaming while my mom was trying to keep her hand in ice water she had touched the glass window on the door of it a good majority of her right hand was burned and blistered even her little fingertips it was nap time and after crying for at least an hour i kept holding her and singing to her trying to get her to fall asleep i thought for sure the pain relief would have kicked in but as she was falling asleep she kept crying out i felt horrible as did my mom i ve burned myself before nothing like this and i knew just a small burn is extremely painful but i felt more horrible when i looked at her other hand that evening and saw that each of the finger tips on her left hand were blistered as well we thought she d just touched it with the right because that s the one she kept grabbing and we could really see the marks so sad to see your kids hurting in pain even more snow the next day the kids were excited to get to wear their boots posted by brian and jennifer at 1 12 am 3 comments friday february 4 2011 halloween 2010 posted by brian and jennifer at 2 40 pm 4 comments 4 years old october 27 2010 there happened to be no school the day of carson s birthday and the kids had free lunch coupons to a buffet so we went to eat lunch and then to chuck e cheese we very rarely take our kids out to eat so it s a real treat for them when we do anyhow we walked in and as we re going to get our table everyone s eyes were on us i can only imagine what thoughts were going through there minds seeing 2 adults with 5 young children we sit down and there s a group of ladies next to us and one of them says you ve got your hands full don t ya i didn t respond the way that i wanted to because i didn t want to sound rude but i kind of paused for a moment really wanting to say what i was thinking and then said yeah they keep us busy we then proceed to get everyone situated and brian and i taking turns getting each of the kids their plate of food by the time it was my turn to get my plate of food the kids were ready to go back for more nothing unusual though at home by the time i get everyone what they need and up and down from the table 10 times i m usually taking my first bite when the kids are ready to get down so back to my story we d been eating awhile and this same lady said to me i must say though your children are very well behaved i responded nicely but was still wondering if she thought i had taken offense to her first question and was trying to make up for it we finish our lunch and go on our way but i tell of this incident because not too long ago i was thinking of the comments and stares i get when i have all my children with me before when people would say something to me i d respond as if i knew i was crazy to have this many kids i think i responded the way i did because i didn t want to be rude and it s easier to just agree with what they re saying but the truth of it is is that i don t care what people think anymore i know it s not the normal thing to have a lot of kids which i didn t think 5 was considered a huge family but whatever pretty average for me i guess for me when i hear people tell me that i have my hands full i d much rather have them full than not i m not saying that life isn t hard or crazy sometimes but the truth of it is is that i wouldn t want it any differently when i see people who want children so badly and aren t able to i can t imagine for one second not having that opportunity which is one reason why i am so incredibly grateful to have my hands full the saying i never said it would be easy i only said it would be worth it has always been a favorite of mine when life gets difficult i think of this and am reminded that the difficult things in life strengthen us and make us stronger having and raising a family isn t easy but i know after this life it s my family that i will have forever and every trial or sacrifice i had to make as a mother will be worth it loving all the rides can you see them in the front wheel sad puppy face kaden was laughing so hard i love seeing my kids have such a good time carson with all his gifts from grandparents and mom and dad and homemade cards from siblings i posted 3 pictures of the same thing because i loved his face in each of them it was never the same gifts from grandpa and grandma in idaho carson s singing happy birthday he s watching me type this brian was a bit concerned that i would make him a cake with pink frosting it was his choice but not because of the color he wanted a cherry chip cake along with cherry frosting not homemade and that particular betty crocker frosting happens to be pink everyone singing to him he was so happy we love our sweet loveable carson for his age he is pretty big and husky but is still our little guy that has the saddest face ever when disciplined and still
