d hand sanitizer is stationed at every turn and we re reminded to keep a healthy distance so that we re not too close as i walk side by side with my child someone who will always be my baby no matter students engage with healthy social activities when they re now taught to keep their distance will they keep their distance probably not for most kids that s no big deal they will stay healthy for others it could be detrimental so as i let go and let god i take a minute to thank him for how far he s brought us so far and remind myself that he has us he holds our future i just have to plan ahead leave a comment uncategorized what a gift from god june 27 2019 kimberly mckay roxy was a rescue who came from a home that really didn t want her i found her through an email from a soccer mom which stated if i don t find a home for her my husband is going to put her down this was 8 years ago when she was only a few years old imagine someone thinking a dog such a burden they would be willing to put them down while i wasn t ready to take dog into our home as i was grieving the loss of my hershey i couldn t let another puppy suffer we took roxy in and she was a bit neurotic starved for attention but sweet as the day is long she was probably the sweetest dog i ve ever met after living in a home where they made her stay by the back door she laid by ours for a while until she realized she could come and go as she pleased without getting yelled at soon she settled into a comfortable routine in our home of eating sleeping well and lounging with lots of cuddles she began to trust and truly loved life last week we got the news that she was terminal when her pain became so bad that she shook from it we had to make the call to end her pain while our family is heartbroken we can live knowing she had a much longer life than she would have if not for taking her in when no one else would after leaving the vet i was praying that god share that with her that we loved her i also prayed that she was running free happy and young again when i turned the corner for my home i saw a rainbow god whispered that she was free and peace washed over me so much so that i had to take a photo of it i thought it might bring comfort to my family especially my son who was grieving more than anyone when i showed him the photo he got strange look on his face he zoomed in on the top right corner of the photo where the clouds were and said look it s roxy and she s running i got chills sure enough when i glanced to what he was staring at it was a carbon copy of my roxy right down to the strip that runs the length of her cheek and her white muzzle god had answered my prayer and gave me a beautiful gift with that image in the clouds roxy truly is running free her ears flapping in the breeze right on jan 1 in 2016 and the much quieter start to 2017 god has been evidently clear this time last year we were dealing with remodeling after an accident resulted in some minor damage to our home and while i dealt with contractors and vendors that came into my circle i realized how each had the exact skill set i needed and offered options that were a precisely what i needed within the small budget we had a couple years prior to this i d been in the building industry every writer has a day job unless they re james patterson when the oil and gas industry took a dive i was laid off i never understood the why behind it we all ask ourselves why things happen why do i have to go through this valley why me why now well it was never more clear in the why when i was knee deep in home repairs and contractors knowing that i could speak the lingo and check their work knowing what to look for so that it was well done god immersed me in those moments with his presence giving me a strong sense of his answer to the why that i d asked only two years prior he let me go work in an industry that i was destined to be laid off from to allow me the knowledge to navigate through a sea of what could be unknowns only to have the knowledge needed to get it done right after the repairs were done it was left in better condition than when we first moved in he gave me very clear insight of his gifts to me and blessings through the chaos when we finally sold our home and landed in an area that we loved but couldn t afford the house we made an offer on appraised lower than the area called for and coincidentally for one hundred dollars less than the top dollar that we could afford god showed up in so many ways in details that i won t bore you with that go deeper than what i describe here but just know this his presence and peace wrapped around us like nothing i d experienced before fast forward to this new year and i woke up in our new to us home on a quiet day much different than the year prior and felt his whisper in my heart which said welcome home it had been a year to remember and one for the record books and god s hand was evident through the entire process through darkness chaos and fatigue he lifted us up led us through and brought us home whoever says god is not active in our lives has blinders on he is with every single one of us through it all things good and bad prayers for this family adjusting our sails i had no idea on thursday when we checked matt into the hospital for a neutropenic fever that tonight i would bring my love home to die did matt and i know he was terminal yes did we think we still had months together hopefully a couple of years yes my heart is breaking over and over and over again just when i think i cannot shed another tear another flood comes pouring out of me when i look at his face the face that has loved me through so much life these last 17 years i am overwhelmed i can t see a future without him in it i can t picture a night without him next to me do you know that in 17 years we have spent 4 nights apart four our lives are so woven together like a beautiful tapestry that i do not know where i begin view original
