delish breakfast at sill s in layton i will never tire of breakfast from sill s scones and sos hashbrowns oh yum just before heading out for 3 2 miles of mostly fun beautiful country sunrise i m so excited to be moving nearby in farmington i love the open space we jaunted past this pretty pumpkin field looking forward to fall we even found a furry little caterpillar friend along our path love my honey for walking with me it was a great time by angela at 9 55 am no comments cravings i craved ice cream like crazy with my first pregnancy which really didn t help matters in the weight gain department this time around i have been more conscious of what i consume on a daily basis focusing on more veggies fruit and protein i feel like i am a little more in tune with my body with baby 2 so because i ve been a good girl in the food department this time around i have figured why not give into a few craving indulgences now and then i deserve a treat for the hard work of growing a human being right delicious bblt yes double bacon and kettle fried chips from corner bakery pickles i never craved pickles with 1 but this time around yum fresh cucumbers dipped in homemade ranch not such a bad craving i suppose not so much a craving but a necessity after giving up soda i am always tired and this helps the energy levels on an as needed basis peaches cream well actually milk with a dash of sugar heaven ice cream on occasion of course mmmm by angela at 9 17 am no comments friday august 03 2012 all girl i went on a little shopping spree for our growing girl at h m i absolutely love the darling things they have for kids and at a great price too i brought home a bag full of new things and she just had to put on her new pretty dress she wore it for two days straight such a little princess the goods modeling her new maxi dress pretty little diva a pretty purple number that she will wear to the wedding and a little something for baby on the way by angela at 10 09 am no comments mom me lessons emersyn is finally enrolled in her first swimming lessons with mom emmy after her first swimming lesson 7 30 12 in general she loves the water but she has always had an initial fear toward getting into a large body of water as in larger than the bathtub at home even with mommy or daddy holding her she gets very nervous and takes a good 20 minutes or so to finally feel comfortable enough to loosen her grip and play a little hence enrollment in swimming lessons her first day in class monday 7 30 was just as i suspected it would be scary for her she is the oldest little one in the mommy me class but had the hardest time my poor baby after five minutes or so her complaining to get out calmed down a little while we joined in some of the water games with the class she would become comfortable with one activity but when we switched she would get upset at that point i realized that sticking with the lessons over time would be of the most benefit to her since she is a creature of habit and thrives on a repetitious schedule in other every day activities i really hoped that next time and the next time and the next time would prove to be better and it was wednesday s class was so much fun for both emmy and i she didn t ask to get out of the water once the entire time and didn t make a single squak when we got into the water she loved singing the wheels on the bus with the class her favorite part was singing the babies on the bus say waaa waaa waaa she even broke out singing that part at home later that evening it was so cute she let mommy hold her out to the side with one arm in the water while she swam for a toy that we would throw out a few feet in front of her success and a nice benefit to the swimming is just how worn out she becomes it s a great workout we drove up to east layton for cheryl s bridal shower and she konked out on the way there even though it was only a 10 minute drive she slept so well wednesday night which was great for me emersyn eating her favorite strawberries at elaine s house after wednesday s class we got to visit with so many friends from the ward i grew up in they threw cheryl a bridal shower she is getting married august 9th to a great guy jake at elaine smith s home emersyn was not the least bit bashful in taking full reign over the house she loved touring every corner and found a baby activity center upstairs that she just had to play with and of course loved playing in the backyard on the slide and swings while the ladies chatted i loved reconnecting with so many of the ladies that were my young women s leaders neighbors and friends it s so fun that relationships and friendships still remain even after so many years of not seeing each other loved it by angela at 9 52 am no comments 23 weeks i can hardly believe how fast this pregnancy is flying by we have had such a busy summer and the end to the chaos is not yet is sight i am actually grateful that things feel like they are moving along more quickly this time around because i haven t felt as great as i did with emersyn s pregnancy in general things are fine but man my hips kill one in particular has really been bothering me since before i ran ragnar i still can t believe i did that while pregnant a prenatal massage a couple of weeks ago revealed that my hip rotators are over compensating for all of the relaxation my ligaments and bones have been doing gotta love the hormonal changes so it looks like a support belt a few more rounds of massage love and perhaps a few visits to the chiropractor are in order baby 2 s ultrasound was done on monday things look great so far with both baby and mom we had been worried early on that the damage done to my cervix during emersyn s delivery would cause complications but we have been blessed that things have progressed well and normalcy has been maintained i think the lord knows that i need to be able to work through this pregnancy and that bed rest with a crazy active almost three year old just would not fly had we wanted to find out baby s gender this apparently would not have been the ultrasound for it baby was curled in a ball for most of the ultrasound and no matter how much poking and prodding wouldn t budge to even get a facial or profile shot we looked away when the ultrasound tech moved down to baby s nether regions but she couldn t even get a view between the legs apparently we weren t meant to know baby s gender she was finally able to grab a profile shot right at the very end before turning off the ultrasound machine it s our favorite shot what a sweet little profile we can t express just how super excited we are to bring a new little one to our forever family by angela at 9 36 am no comments wednesday june 20 2012 emersyn making it official by angela at 9 05 pm no comments tuesday june 19 2012 happy news and my 4th ragnar relay you may notice a little it feels big something in the photos below we are expecting baby 2 this november right around thanksgiving time and couldn t be more excited life has been more of a whirlwind than expected the past few months living with nathan s folks while we have made plans to move forward with our little family and so i haven t quite caught up on the blog as much as i have wanted to we aren t finding out baby s gender before he she arrives it will be a fun surprise emersyn has her suspicions that her new sibling is a brudda and i have heard so many people mention that kids really seem to know we will see of course either way we will be completely happy and in love with our new little addition i am addicted ragnar relay races are just too much fun i m not sure why i love it so much the lack of sleep is killer cramps are rampant blisters the burn but i do i again ran the wasatch back race just this past weekend with a handful of the people that i ran the florida keys race with in january along with some new friends who were running their first relay race our start time was friday at 5 30am at the usu stadium and we finished the race at about 4 30pm on saturday afternoon not too shabby for a team comprised of lots of first time ragnarians although already runners and yes i ran this race while 4 months pregnant it was quite amusing when people would run alongside me look over at my belly and get googly eyes a few people asked what in the world are you doing it was pretty funny to hear people in the background saying did you see that pregnant lady of course i never would have done a race like this while pregnant had i not already been running when i became pregnant we joked that this baby will come out with running shoes on and a six pack of abs ha while it was more of a struggle to breathe well and cramping came a little more readily i felt good overall the entire time i was amazed on sunday and monday that i was hardly sore like i had expected i would be from past experience i am still super tired and feel like i could sleep all day but that is quite normal after running almost 14 miles in a 26 hour period i will admit that i am proud of myself for sticking to the task and getting another ragnar relay under my belt so much fun nathan and i are planning on running wasatch back next june van 1 at the starting line after joe began the race 10 12 members of team peace love ragnar about 1 3 into my first leg 7 6 miles we did it peace love me to the core and really caused me to stop and think about how easy i have it it made me really feel empathetic for the terrible things the jews experienced and helped me to appreciate relationships lifetime i remember snowdrifts packed taller than most cars that we would walk on top alongside the streets on our way to school i haven t taken a photo of winter 2012 because it s just pathetic last year the snow year was so late we didn t have a chance to go camping because the land in fairview was too soggy thru the summer wacky weather and mixed up seasons a sign of the times i think so april 2011 heavy snow bending our tree completely over by angela at 7 53 pm no comments saturday january 14 2012 ragnar florida keys i added my name to ragnar fl s if you need a runner call me and i might just travel across the country to run a 200 mile relay race with your team list two teams contacted me and i joined how the west was run which was comprised of mostly utahans and a few runners from out of state i didn t know a single soul on the team we met up for lunch at our team captain s home in draper a few weeks before everyone flew out to florida such a great idea i briefly got to know some of the teammates everyone by name at least and knew we were in for a great time my mom and sister ashley flew out with me we got a great deal on a 5 star hotel across the street from the ocean they stayed and played while i joined up with the team for 1 5 days of craziness from jan 6th 7th ragnar relay s are indeed crazy but i am quickly becoming addicted to them the excitement the sense of accomplishment the getting to know teammates in a way you never could otherwise i m not sure exactly what it is love it this race was my third ragnar relay within a year s time not the most difficult course but definitely a beautiful one there is nothing quite like running across bridges from island to island in the middle of the ocean more photos to come and more of the story too van 2 angela
