blueinks design blueinks design april 15 2020 dueling darlings april i hope this post finds you all doing well in these troubling times to help keep us busy this month we have a card kit for the dueling darlings from scs suzy was the hostess for the divas we received a true texas kit bluebonnets for everyone i bet they are as pretty to see as suzy described the image is from deadbeat designs i colored it up and tried to use as much of the kit as i could when i saw it i knew my personal challenge would be to use the doily i am just not a doily kinda girl i guess my grandma had doilies you know the hand stitched kind the kind that if you use them like a frisbee in the house they sail so i have heard lol i cannot wait to see how all the others made their cards this month you can see too terry and i are the hosts this round terry and i texted about a theme terry found that march 20th is international day of happiness made us think what makes us happy on a smaller scale of course coffee came to mind if you are a coffee drinker it just makes your day a little happier so coffee theme it is out go the kits to the divas we asked the girls to let us know what little thing makes them happy and to share in their post okay here is mine moving with the coffee theme i like to go to starbucks nothing fancy just a venti blonde roast black of course i have to be into efficiency and use the app to order so i can walk in and pick it up and not wait and can pay via the app if i que the order on the app before i leave the house about half way to starbucks on my way to work i push a button and order placed and paid love it so here is my secret happy ssshhhhh don t tell anyone it is kinda bad it is amazing the number of people at our starbucks at 5 40 am really it is there are the regular group of patrons that you see and say hello to then there are the cutthroats they are all out to get to the drive thru before you i mean come on remember how i like to que my order on the mobile app there is nothing better than a cutthroat in the long drive thru line waiting while because forbid they go in the store i park my car you just cut off get out walk in to the store get my coffee from the counter and go back to the car in under a minute the cutthroats are giving the stink eye and i smile get in my car and drive away and they have not even ordered yet secret happy in december dh and i went to seattle for a few days here are picks of the original starbucks store at pike place market the very first one in 1971 the lines were over a block long to get in i have this stamp set from avery elle that is coffee related and perfect for our duel i decided to go old school stamping and mask the images i hope the divas liked their kits i cannot wait to see what they have sweetheart is our theme for february in the dueling darlings from scs you know february is a month for smitten kittens with valentine s day and all i have to ask have you ever come across one of those people by those people i mean those who you never hear them call their significant other by name i worked with this one lady and she never said her husband s name for years it was always my husband the kid s dad his brother or she even called him mister but never sweetheart it was like this third person 55 times removed or how about the people that call their significant other daddy i could no more call my husband daddy than fly to the moon he is not my daddy he is my husband i worked with one of those women once too i mean we would die laughing in the office silently of course when she would story tell big daddy and i but never sweetheart how about boo i want to yell boo who lol i guess sweetheart is the original og sticking to the original i worked from the great kit that carol sent for february it was a kit full of pretty papers and embellies galore since we were going old school i used chalks to color my image when i say old school i mean the og of the chalks from stampin up they are like circa 2000 they were actually called stamping pastels i think i also used an older than dirt edge punch member them i liked working old school for something different thank you carol i just type 2020 yep sure did it is a new year and the dueling darlings from scs are off to a great start i am a bit behind the starting line up but so glad to be able to play lj sent us the most adorable image from elzybell stamps the theme for january was penguins and this image is just perfect paired with the doodlebug designs papers a great kit thank you lj i appreciate you all waiting for darlings november owl the heck are you we have an owl theme for our dueling darlings november card the girls from scs are sending out the cute stuff heather sent us the cutest little owls from taylored expressions i used the die cut hoot hoot hooray owls for my card i dug out my die cuts and embossing folders and of course read the sandwich directions why can i not remember them lol some paper scraps later here is my card the photo caught odd light and looks wavy but in person it is not this is not elementary school so no picture re takes speaking of re takes in elementary school i had to do them one year i think it was like the second grade we were goin all out and having school pics with a scene you know like the fake fence kinda thing i though i would be extra cute if i painted my fingernails to show on the fence some girl in class had fingernail polish so pictures come back a few weeks later mom opens them i have frosted pink little nails and got in a whole lotta october barb sent us a fun image from outlines rubber stamp company the image is named ghost couple i like that they are not just ghost friends but a couple i had to use the brads from the kit as barb is the queen of brads kind of sounds like a title the queen of brads i think i am watching too much downton abbey well like everything lately it seems i am only about 5 to 9 years late to the show i have just a few episodes left i just so want one of those girls to come down the stairs with her hair in a pony and with some sweats on eating food thank you for the great kit barb i now can go see september is baby safety month and the catalyst to our baby theme judy sent a kit that was just chock full of cuteness we were asked to make a baby card while there were dang cute girl papers i have a boy gift to give next week so went with more earth toned papers perfect timing judy thanks in looking at the kit there were stickers i like stickers but never know what to do with them i kept coming back to the stickers and challenged myself to use them so since i was struggling with using a sticker i thought why not throw a button in there too for good measure buttons throw me off as well as stickers why do i do this to myself lol the end result reminded me of some of the project kits that i have seen from stampin up please be sure to visit the other dueling darlings their blog links are
