brad and jenny s happenings skip to main skip to sidebar brad and jenny s happenings friday june 24 2011 we are still here well kind of are you so i looked at my handy little tracker today to see who has looked at the blog there have been 12 hits in june so far yeah i know not record breaking numbers but people are still checking in even though i am a terrible blogger all of brad s family is out of state and so i decided i would post something and try to be better at updates don t get too excited probably nothing more that once a month or so jaden is a toddler no more baby so cute and fun at this age but man he doesn t stop from sun up to sun down brad is busy busy busy working two jobs taking a night class applying to pa physicians assistant school and recently being called to serve as the second counselor in the bishopric of our ward i do see him on mondays saturday mornings and brief glimpses when he is at work at traverse mountain and sunday at church it has been ok and the super crazy schedule is temporary so i can deal i am loving loving loving being a mom jaden is so amazing i have it great only working in the office three days a week sometimes it is kindof a break and some good adult time i have wonderful people who watch him for me and he has a blast at the babysitters and has friends to play with sometimes i think he is bored when it is just me jaden is running everywhere now he just can t seem to move fast enough to where he wants to go he understands everything i am saying to him and points to everything to get its name he is not really saying any words back yet but still communicates very well without words thus far i know they are all up there and just on the tip of his tongue jaden loves to climb up and down stairs and he is very good at it anywhere we go he heads straight for the stairs he loves water he has always loved bathtime but now loves the pool lake aspens water dish he is fearless at the pool walking in putting his face in the water flopping forward on his belly with his water wings on this is awesome and terrifying at the same time go figure so all you really want to see are some pictures of jaden right new car seat he seems to like it mothers day licking the beater mmmmm whip cream peek a boo second hair cut and more teeth coming can we say drool riding on daddy s back so fun already looking older in one month my sister rachel says that there are more pictures of jaden on my friends blog than mine and you know she is right brianna and wade have been our good friends for years now bri is into photography and does an amazing job she has totally spoiled us by doing many sessions for us since jaden was born see the latest jaden 1 year b day photos here we did these at her new house the tile and textured wall background look great she did the cup cake and everything for the shoot it was really fun she is truly talented and i just love the pics she has done be sure to click on the links in the post she did with us posted by jenny at 3 54 pm 4 comments monday december 20 2010 xmas card 2010 this has been a wonderful year for us we love being parents and have enjoyed seeing the world again through the eyes of a child we wish everyone the best for the new year and we are so grateful for the christmas season when we remember and reflect on the the birth of jesus christ love jenny brad jaden and aspen thanks to bri for taking family pics for us jaden was a little tired and not cooperating smiling or looking at the camera but we still got some good ones posted by jenny at 9 07 pm monday august 30 2010 love my fam and my sisters so it has been forever and i am still unsure about going private or not but thought i would put something up while i have a minute my baby turned 7 months old 3 days ago and i can t believe how fast it is going on one hand i want him to grow he hasn t crawled yet and is just barely thinking about sitting up but on the other hand i am so sad that it is going by so fast and i want him to stay little forever we have taken a million pictures and i am trying to be good about writing things down so i will remember but it is hard to get it all in most of the time when i am home i just find myself hanging out with jaden and aspen and not really caring about getting anything else done we took sister pictures for my mom the first of may for mothers day when i feel crazy and busy and like i am not getting much done i must say that i am so greatful for my little family brad jaden and aspen and for my parents and sisters they are always there for me and i love them posted by jenny at 5 54 pm friday february 12 2010 our most amazing gift i have been behind in blogging and wanted to get caught up a lot of the time my blogs are to capture events and memories for myself and to help keep a record of our lives so i am still not caught up but had to share the most amazing gift we have recieved i want to let everyone know how much we love them and are excited to share this wonderful news we have been pursuing adoption for the last year and were approved in august and our online profile went live we started talking with our birth mother in october but found out for sure that she had decided to place with us mid december since then with the holidays and just trying to get ready the last month has been a blur yet at the same time the greatest moment of our lives we would like to introduce you to our beautiful baby boy jaden bradley hickman born january 27th 2010 12 10 am weight 8 lbs 7 oz height 20 5 inches just after being born it all happened so fast and we wanted to make sure everything went well before we made any big announcments the problem with that is now that jaden is here it is hard for me to get anything else done but take care of him plus i am having so much fun and loving being a mom i am enjoying being home with him and everything else doesn t seem as important he is such a handsome little boy and so photogenic as you can see below these are some of our favorite pics thus far car ride home to the hotel from the hospital he is only 4 days old in this picture after 1st sponge bath at home he is healthy and happy we got back from oregon on monday feb 1st and are getting settled in and figuring out a new daily routine together he is growing and changing everyday and we are so greatful for the opportunity to be parents and to have this sweet spirit in our home he has been a calm good baby and we are the proudest parents ever we are now a family of 4 aspen is adjusting well and curious but cautious with and i played on a co ed softball team this fall with some friends in our ward it was soooo fun i had not played softball since i was very young and i think i did a pretty good job i even conquered my fear and wen t back to the batting cage the last time i was in a batting cage before this i broke my nose it was just sooo much fun to have practice and hang out with the group i think we finished second or third to last but we had a blast brad got to pitch one game and did a great job brad batting below as number 9 this is my favorite number this was my number when i played soccer in high school upper right ashley s dad holding madison mike ranell dan and ashley annie holding mack eric brad and i wade bri bottom diana her husband adrien not pictured kristen jon i sat out the last game i had just gotten over having strep throat for the first time in my life i ending up holding two of the cutest kids ever don t worry i wasn t contagious bri wearing all the bling to keep it safe this is the wonderful bruise i got at one of the games totally missed a fly ball and it smacked me right in the leg i played it off at the game like it was no big deal but it hurt so bad and i had this we had a quiet celebration for my mom s birthday this year my dad was out of town so just the girls brad and the grandkids got together for dinner and cake my mom had me the year she was turning 40 so i always know how old she is turning cerissa made a yummy chocolate cake w rassberries the four girls davey and hannah love their uncle brad my aunt linda and aunt mary were in charge of the thompson reunion this year and everyone came to the salt lake valley we went up cottonwood canyon to october fest and up the canyon to a pavillion for a great bbq and get together we always have great food at reunions and enjoy games and hanging out with each other another bonus was being able to attend a baby blessing for my cousin john s son baby isaac the fam except for cerissa hannah being cute wearing my high heels around the house brad and i rode the tram up to the top of the mountain it was cold up there 50 degrees but beautiful holding sweet baby isaac the whole group brad and davey playing group of couples in our ward we had a little bbq pot luck at our house the boys shooting the breeze the group all enjoying the food and company wade bri eric annie ashley dan john kristin their cute daughter milo and aspen aspen soo cute in a scarf my 10 year yes i said 10 year reunion was august 8 2009 i can t believe i have been graduated from high school for 10 years already it was so fun to see everyone i was a senior class officer so i got to help plan and be involved it was pretty stressful and we weren t sure we were going to pull it off but i think everything turned out nice there were some close friends that couldn t make it that i wish could have been there we had a free picnic and family get together at layton park earlier and then a nice catered dinner at weber state
