e to do my assignments now but i don t feel like it not looking forward for tomorrow posted by brigette lim at 12 08 am no comments sunday april 29 2007 breakthroughs it s been a crazy and busy week for brigette i ve done loads of stuff this week one thing in particular but will go to that later on friday my very dear yeat teng came to australia for vacation actually she came here with her family to visit her second sister and brother her family lives in the city so she s there that means i need to get myself there alone which totally crazy and outrageous those who know me well will know how good my sense of direction is brief records of good sense of direction 1 will always get myself lost in 1 utama 2 heading home after cell group in ah ci s house in kelana jaya and ended up in nkjv express way 3 etc so i took the big challenge went to city just to meet up with me dear teng remind you i only went city once with my big sis which is on february so that time is the 2nd time the little timid mouse enter the city haha so yeah after my 11 o clock class i went to bus stop to catch the bus i actually pray hard to god the day before that i won t end up in some country place and guess what god s been great i met an old school friend from malaysia when i catch the bus and she s heading to melbourne central as well haha god knows my good skill succeeded in getting myself to see teng she permed her hair and she looks so pretty and mature she actually looks like a doll _ get to catch up with teng and find out that our dear bey ern also start to ban leng leng already hehe really can t wait to see the new bey kei wan the shopping queen hehe memang know that you like to ban leng leng already and yeah get to know more stuff about aaron from sunway too cheeky smile well teng s family is actually planning to go to melbourne zoo so i was invited sigh been intruding in a lot of family day lately yeah it was fun _ get to see a lot of animals cute cute penguins ugly baboons lazy lions swift seals kangaroos can t find a description for it but it was my 1st tie seeing a kangaroo miserable koala because there s only one koala basically i enjoyed the day a lot really happy to see familiar faces again thank you for meeting up with me dear appreciate it a lot _ at about 6 bid good byes and hugs and head off alone back to clayton sat at the wrong bus station but luckily i didn t get on the wrong bus and manage to run to the correct bus that is about to take off i was the last to get out of the bus which last stop is in monash uni awesome experience i actually kept all my transport tickets where i took my first rides to some places hehe eden andrew keeping movie tickets i m going to keep my bus tickets as well _ on saturday need to head to city again because my aunt from malaysia came to visit my cousin and she want to treat me dim sum so i head to city again and guess what i didn t go there alone again just so happens i met si si and her sister at the bus stop they were heading to city as well am i blessed or what he s really watching over me all the time love the feeling so yeah the sisters went to city with me haha god don t trust that i can get myself to city alone on sunday my halls talent night to cut it short on friday i was asked to go to selene s room she s my residential advisor ra a senior student an australian she s really nice out of no where she asked me whether i got any talents and randomly she asked me to sing i was really blur wanted to be bit open and sporting so i just simply sing a song and bang she signed me up for talent night and even got me a guitarist nihal an indian senior student and a christian pianist peter german mix chinese and another girl sarah and australian nihal s gf to sing with me i don t know them at all but it was really a great to know them i was really blur and didn t think of to really sing on stage i m really not a stage person i was but that was when i m really young i even refused to sing with my sisters on my dad s company annual dinner how can i perform in front of all the people especially when they are all westerners at the same time i m can t seem to study or progress in my assignments because i m caught in watching small ville and god is not near i was really stressed up on saturday and didn t feel like doing it but both selene and kevin a friend that lives in the same stairway as me a senior from malaysia being a very blur person i am he helped me a lot with loads of stuff owe him a lot have been a really good encourager _ then god appears in the picture he sort of convinced me to do it as well he taught me something new i ve always been a really timid and introvert person whatever stuff i want or like because of me timidity it often holds me back and i always do not have the courage to grasp it or pursue it and that s when i miss out and miss something that are important to me like singing is one of the examples i like singing but am too timid to do it on stage well this was really my test and my breakthrough and joining the talent night is my first step where god had prepared i was thinking that even if i really fail this i ll just leave the halls for next semester haha believe it or not i sang two songs one with sarah another one solo haha for those who sang with me in band in church before will probably know that i always had problems entering song always depend on musicians to nod their head to ask me to enter well i m still the old brigette and i entered wrongly again when performed on stage but it was all right because nihal back me up haha well it turns out really well i actually got positive feedback from people cheers god s grace the talent night is not a competition no winners or prizes it is just for fun and for people to gather and get to know one another and it was really fun with all the crazy performances glad that i didn t miss it or even miss the opportunity to be on stage here are some pictures taken by kevin these are not all the performance i just picked some one of the residential advisor his name is bawa from sri lanka he s telling jokes in the middle of the break i rarely laugh at jokes but i reckon it s quite funny because everyone was laughing at the end he did an indian dance as well which was really funny and nice woa this group is doing a salsa and swing dance really awesome they really can swing well nothing beats a group of cute guys lip singing i want it that way by backstreet boys and a bit of dancing haha yee i got a video of them my singing partner doing her solo part singing falling from alicia keys the guy in the orange shirt sam he lives two doors next to me he s reciting all the 100 numbers on the paper hold by the friend beside him a guy acting hilarious i think he s trying to imitate someone but i don t know who he purposely dress up like that and he even coloured one of his teeth black his actions and all are totally hilarious basically he s not there to sing but to entertain haha yes that s me performance by a girl together with a guy pianist she s talented can sing while playing the guitar this group is doing a song presentation with whistling really cute the guy in the middle really can sing quite well a typical good looking kuai lou _ the last group was performed by all the residential areas performing a musical play summer day that s basically what i did for the week awesome experiences now it s time to turn on productive mode and start working hard on studies and assignments so am going to concentrate hope you all are know how to fix it it stated error on page sigh was waiting for it to function properly but nah it didn t happen after chatting with eden yesterday realise that i really need to update so here goes p s there are actually two posts in this one post i thought i posted that post earlier but i don t know i didn t so yeah there are 2 dates 8 april 2007 hmm i think a lot of you all have the thought that my life here is happy happy all the way right well you are so wrong so i thought of writing some difficulties i faced here too at this time i m really busy to cope with current life friends church assignments assessments have you ever try facing the computer for whole day yes whole day searching info for your assignments reading tons tons tons of journal articles maybe because of the busyness i m facing it sort of distracted me from thinking back too people in church are really nice and friendly the senior pastor pastor ken here even sounded like pastor ho but only much taller than pastor ho he s white haha talk about last sunday was quite embarrassing can t stop crying while pastor helped me pray for i was so super de duper home sick and pressured over studies church here really really can t stress enough reminds me a lot of home people here are just as nice as people back there it s just because everyone know each other so well it s kind of hard to fit in they know each other since they were young they had their own group of friends haha you know what i m going through people here always get to give huggies to each other makes me think of all the huggies back home sob sob kk i know i sound silly but i really miss all your huggies sigh but god had asked me to stay in focus instead of the group of international students so i ll just follow and see where he ll lead but i know it takes time to adapt to this just need to be patient and be a friend to everyone then everyone will be your friend 17 april 2007 in case you all didn t know besides joining focus in church i m joining student life in school too it s a christian organisation and it s really awesome they always held evangelistic activities and even held bible study for christian students and really build up believers spiritually and taught us a lot on how to evangelise for non believers they will have a 6 class sessions called christianity explain which is where they explain what christ is all about last 2 weeks we even 6 missionaries from singapore that came here to evangelise age range from about 17 to 21 accompanied by 2 leaders it was really a blessing to be able to meet them and see how they work for god they came here 3 weeks before easter and we had about sixteen people accepted christ from the past 3 weeks which is totally awesome imagine that 16 more people joining in the family of god i even manage to reap a harvest _ it really was an impact to me especially to see the one girl that was one year younger than me and able to speak boldly about god s word to non believers just pass easter holiday it s been great didn t waste my time at all _ i went for student life camp on monday till wednesday 3 days 2 nights there are about 175 people from 6 universities about 23 nationalities i met james from melbourne uni but he s a medicine student hahaha never been to a camp with ang mo culture it s really very different from the camp we had back home there are no group games at all because thier culture is more like relax easy camps no crazy wild games we had bonfire had marshmallow too that night was really pretty too with uncountable preeeeety stars shinning brightly all over the sky this camp was more like a camp for new believers i ve been helping around and had my 1st experience assisting a new christian girl with her quiet time god had taught me new stuff through this camp too _ hmm after the camp the rest of the holiday i was working on my 2nd assignment on sociology i got a credit for my 1st assignment which is really near to d sob but still thank god for it woa stress like crazy but but melissa was an encourager yes melissa liau hehe mel don t be shock i read her blog and know that she s working hard on her assignment too and when i was doing my assignment i ll be thinking that about mel doing the same thing too then i ll be fired up to stay up late to get it don...
