ceme eats drinks and shops ceme eats drinks and shops and i m having a ball tuesday october 30 2007 cooking classes at williams sonoma i m having a ball signed up for three classes at williams sonoma with chef margaret schaum of good eats have two more classes scheduled an autumn dinner party consisted of mushroom crostini stuffed acorn squash rosemary sage pork tendeerloin with pancetta and maple pecan pie delicious next up tonight 10 30 braises stews and chowders i m going for the beef stroganoff and seafood stew with endive chowder i just can t get my beef stroganoff right and we re also making braised soy ginger chicken and bok choy will keep everyone posted and last for this year will be technique all about roasting we ll make roasted olives baby spinach and roasted beet salad egg noodles with roasted squash roasted chicken with cipollini and honey pecan roasted pears i m going for the honey pecan roasted pears which i m thinking of prepared for thanksgiving along with sweet furniture shopping with knitster chelle a few weeks ago me and chelle took a walk down chestnut street in center city and we stumbled on mitchell gold furniture store and look what i found i m madly philadelphia 1 isn t she adorable circa 1930 oh my i see me now 2 wow i have to have it picture this me in all black stunning 3 summer fun positively adorable circa 1980 absolutely stunning now i m up to 32 hats and looking forward to adding more i need another suede hat for winter to go with my chocolate brown suede coat and now that i m thinking about it i need another coat green green to match my new touscan hat lol stay tuned i have a plan posted by ceme says at 12 10 pm no comments friday may 25 2007 chateau ste michelle i m becoming a wine connoisseur hee hee really i am lol seriously i m completely addicted to reading about wine and finding out what the critics say is good is almost as exciting as knitting i said almost lol so here s a recommendation the next time your in the market for a bottle of wine go chateau ste michelle seriously i just read an article in june 2007 food wine and they gave chateau st michelle a great write up they mention that the chateau is not new to making wine established 40 years ago also they said while the labels are plain the wine is not chateau ste michelle is owned by ste michelle wine estates which is ranked 10th largest wine company in the us and they also own columbia crest one of my favorites cabernet merlot blend and merlot hee hee lol i know i m coconuts ceme posted by ceme says at 1 09 pm no comments friday may 18 2007 wine collection i m slowly becoming a wine connoisseur and here s a picture of my growing collection i know i need a wine rack i m looking for one really i am my favorite reds columbia crest reserve merlot kendell jackson s merlot sterling merlot columbia crest cabernet merlot combo walker shiraz a while back before i knew any better i attempted to drink a glass of shiraz i swore i d never try another but surprisingly this one was very good maybe because i had a steak with it and i have to admit i m not fond of cabernet solo or pinot noir my favorite white dyed in the wool sauvignon blanc i m totally in love with this one bubbly crisp deliciously clean now i tried cavit s pinot grigio it was very very light to the point of watery so i m not fond of it and i found that i m not fond of chardonnay either it gave me a headache so now i m on the look out for zonin s pinot grigio and primo amore i ll let you know what i think that s all for now will post again soon ceme posted by ceme breakfast muffins here s a breakfast muffin that will knock your socks off these were moist and buttery and oh just so delicious my co worker patty cake when i hit the powerball i m financing the shop for her made these for me post birthday and wow here s the ingredients pat your the best muffin mix 1 1 4 stick unsalted butter melted butter substitute 1 3 4 cup all purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 large egg egg substitute 1 4 teaspoon salt 1 2 vanilla bean split and scraped 2 3 cup sugar splenda or equal 2 3 cup milk at room temp 1 1 4 cup fruit i prefer blueberries but pat made blueberries and cranberry preheat oven to 400 combine dry ingredients and whisk in a medium bowl combine butter vanilla bean sugar milk and egg and whisk to combine fold butter mixture and fruit into flour use no more than 10 strokes spoon 1 4 cup of batter into each prepared muffin cup press 2 teaspoons of streusel mix below on top of each muffin bake until tops are golden or 15 17 minutes remove from oven and let cool in pan for 15 20 minutes before transferring to rack streusel mix 5 teaspoons butter soft butter substitute 2 3 cup flour 2 3 cup confectioners sugar use less 1 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon combine all in a bowl mix until moist and crumbly and wow everybody will love you a lot now if your doctor told you that you have to eat healthier check out
