austin information school in fall 2026 if you are interested in working with me please check out this page i m a visiting researcher in the ai interaction and learning team at microsoft research previously i was a postdoc working with yejin choi at the university of washington i received my phd from language technologies institute at carnegie mellon university advised by yulia tsvetkov i am a recipient of k l gates presidential fellowship and kfas fellowship and was selected as uchicago rising stars in data science for more information please check my cv research interests my research starts from a fundamental observation every person brings unique perspectives shaped by their background and experiences i believe ai systems should adapt to this natural human variation enabling technology to work effectively for all users my work builds technical solutions that operationalize social intelligence in ai systems i develop models and frameworks that identify where language models fail specific communities languages and cultures driving solutions for pluralistic alignment and personalization a core technical challenge i address is incorporating socially contextual signals from community specific preferences to social norms into model architectures and training procedures through this lens i ve worked extensively with subjective phenomena like sentiment and
