odyssey in imax 70mm to robert rodriguez performing music from his movies and more at the academy museum but the big highlight for me was the week wes anderson was in town first for a 30th anniversary screening of bottle rocket at the academy museum continue reading films in 2026 films in 2026 june june was filled with more re watches than movies i hadn t seen before but there was plenty i enjoyed both new and old the month began with the american cinematheque s annual bleak week programming wherein i saw the piano teacher and heaven s gate with isabelle huppert a i artificial intelligence with haley joel osment and midsommar and tcm my experience at tcmff 2026 a month has passed since the 17th tcm classic film festival my sixth time attending the annual event in person as i ve done in past years a few weeks after tcmff ended here s my full recap of the fest from my point of view films in 2026 films in 2026 may may was quite the eventful month and i m not just talking about the fact that the first three days were filled with screenings for the tcm classic film festival along with tcmff i attended a few red carpet premieres throughout the month including for backrooms and obsession i also went to a triple feature of films in 2026 films in 2026 april april was another exciting month kicking off with the noir city film festival and ending with the start of the tcmff today is actually the first full day of the fest so i m keeping this wrap up relatively brief but some special screening highlights of the month include the long goodbye with elliott gould zodiac with my picks for tcmff 2026 it s nearly time for my favorite annual event the tcm classic film festival the 17th edition officially kicks off a week from today and it ll be my sixth time attending the fest as usual there are always a few tough choices to make between what movies to see and events to go to but in april 23 2026 in tcm films in 2026 march march was a memorable month not only did i celebrate another birthday but i also got to attend the red carpet for the academy awards a truly unforgettable experience movie wise i had incredibly fortunate opportunities to finally check out two movies that had been on my watchlist for many years but couldn t see because of april 1 2026 in films in 2026 the 98th academy awards my picks and predictions oscar sunday is nearly upon us it s sure to be an exciting ceremony with a lot of the major categories seeming to be not as easy to predict as usual it ll be an especially thrilling time for me as i was randomly selected by the academy museum to sentimental value jacob march 1 2026 in films in 2026 films in 2026 january it was a pretty good start to a new year of movie watching some highlights from my theater experiences in january included bugonia with jesse plemons in conversation with adam scott sentimental value with joachim trier and eskil vogt song sung blue with kate hudson in conversation with zooey deschanel and the moment with aidan zamiri february 1 2026 in films in 2026 films in 2025 review it was another great year in movie going in los angeles and beyond from the comforts of home to the streets of new york i ended up seeing more than 300 films on the big screen which was a lot more than last year s tally what can i say i love seeing movies in movie theaters january 11 2026 in films in 2025 films in 2025 december happy new year december was a bittersweet month as i reflected a lot on the screen legends we lost this past year through the films i watched in the last days of 2025 i m eternally grateful we have
