the cleverley family skip to main skip to sidebar thursday february 14 2013 birth announcement finally getting around to sending out her birth announcements here is a little preview posted by the cleverleys at 1 19 pm 1 comment wednesday january 16 2013 2 months really can it really be 2 months already and yes i still haven t posted the many more pictures and events that have happened in these 2 months such as emma s baptism and addison s blessing christmas so many more they will get on here addison is 2 months old she is sporting an adorable outfit from aunt breanna she is so smiley mostly when she wakes up but pretty much any time she will smile yesterday at her 2 month doctor appointment she was all smiles at the doctor until the shots came of course the kids love to help out all the time carter calls this her score move because it looks like a football scoring pose she had her first sleepover with cousins in matching pj s of course thanks chrystal she still doesn t like riding in her car seat much but we found out something that helps a ton her fur coat grandma duffin bought her yup she is much happier when she is wearing it no joke her hair still amazes us all i love love love it grandma cleverley lovin on addison mommy loves to hold addison too so does emma i love this picture she had just finished eating and emma was burping her do you think she was full addison has quite the personality she loves to make the cutest faces she is not unhappy very often as long as her needs are met she is very happy she loves to be in the same room as someone she doesn t like to be left alone even when she is waking up she will grunt and growl at us for a while and if we don t hear her or come and get her then she will squawk a bit she just isn t a crier yay addison is a great nurser she is sleeping pretty ok at nights too she will usually take one longer stretch at the beginning of the night and then go about 2 3 hours in between eating after that now that we have the rock n play sleeper she is sleeping much better than last month emma absolutely loves her sister here she is in the dress grandma poppy duffin gave her for christmas isn t she such a doll i love this one cody loves to help out during the day too while it is hard to believe 2 months have flown by they have there is no going back and i have come to accept not willingly sometimes that my kids are growing up too fast for my own liking but i am trying oh so hard to enjoy them during the process we are so grateful for the spirit that addison has brought into our home i feel we are more unified and the kids seem to feel a change as well we all love babies especially ours we love you addison posted by the cleverleys at 12 55 pm 1 comment saturday december 22 2012 1 month i have a million more pictures to post of the kids and addison but i want to stay on top of at least her monthly milestones addison is already a month old some things she is doing she has started to smile it is so cute here is a super happy one she loves to watch the ceiling in our bedroom she will smile and coo and just stare must be someone up there playing with her she still doesn t like hats she doesn t mind them once they are on her but putting them on her head creates drama her hair is still growing she loves to take baths she has from the very start for the first week or so she wouldn t open her eyes while in the bath she would squeeze them shut and then open them as soon as we took her out of the tub now she loves to look around and really enjoys just being in the water each of the kids take turns helping to bathe her and sometimes they all come in to help it makes for one squishy bathroom she still loves her tongue she growls at us a lot it is so cute though she isn t necessarily mad or filling her pants or anything she just likes to growl grunt at us addison spits up quite a bit only when she is laying down flat she spends most of her time sleeping either in mom s arms where i love her to be or in the swing on a slight incline this helps immensely with the spit up she doesn t like her car seat much not quite taking a binky only occasionally she brings so much joy into our lives we love you addison merry christmas everyone our children posted by the cleverleys at 12 04 pm no comments tuesday december 11 2012 she s here welcome to the world little one addison cleverley was born on november 15th 2012 6 01am weighing in at 7lbs 6oz and 21 long she has super long dark brown hair and dark blue eyes she is perfect in every way we are all so in love with her right when she was born and they placed her on my stomach greg and i both couldn t believe how much hair she had she played with her tongue for the 1st 2 hours after she was born she kept sticking it out and making the funniest faces i had an ultrasound done a day before she was born and she stuck her tongue out then too daddy taking his turn emma thinks she sounds like a little kitten when she cries it is so cute the 1st night at the hospital she would wake up screaming or meowing without any warning it was like she went from 0 to 60 in no time flat she wanted to eat and she wanted to eat right then after my milk came in she was much more content she likes to grunt and make cute little baby noises the kids came to meet their new sister now a family of 6 cody was apprehensive at first i m sure due to the fact that mommy had a million tubes and wires all over the place on her and then all of a sudden there is a new baby around he eventually warmed up and finally wanted to hold her we let the kids stay out of school that day the boys went with greg s parents after a little while and emma stayed to help out at the hospital she was able to go back with greg and help give addison her 1st bath she picked out the teal bow and was so excited to finally have a sister we played dress up for a while trying on a few bows of course check out the difference in the above picture and the below one yellow the kids came back later that night to see us again after everyone left and all was quiet addison decided she was done sleeping for a while this is pretty much how she was most of the night it was so fun though and i loved it despite being tired i cherish that special bonding time her hair is just so darn cute and in the morning she decided she was ready to sleep then came the news jaundice yeah it wouldn t have been so bad but her numbers jumped pretty high quite quickly so we were told we had 30 minutes with her before they were taking her to the nicu bummer we were hoping to go home that day but nope it was time to get this jaundice under control this was friday morning and she went under the intensive lights 3 sets all day and then took more blood that night it was higher so she stayed on the lights all night and then they drew again saturday morning levels were about the same so they turned off the lights for 6 hours to see if she could keep the levels stable and regulate it on her own or not after 6 hours they had jumped up again another day in the hospital thankfully my mother came into town on friday and was able to help out with the kids and be there for moral support for me i sure miss living close to my mother finally sunday morning her levels had stayed pretty much the same and she was now a few days older so we were able to come home yay the hardest part was to not hold her and cuddle and snuggle her all the time putting her back under the lights was a bummer because we just wanted to be home with everyone else and spend time with addison but we knew that the faster we got her better the sooner we could come home and monday at her pediatricians office her levels were down so no more lights yay she did sport some little sunglasses while under the lights daddy getting addison ready to go home goodbye nicu all ready to go i guess i should back up and tell the labor story the morning of the 14th i woke up just feeling rotten i felt like i had the flu and the nausea was so much worse today which it never did fully go away until she was born greg took the kids to school dropped cody off at his mom and dad s house came home and said we are going to the hospital i had been having contractions for weeks now so i wasn t sure if i was in true labor or not i just knew i felt awful i was skeptical about going in but i had been dilated to a 3 and 60 effaced for at least 3 weeks now and my labors typically go fast so i thought we better at least get checked out so off we went they hooked me up to all the monitors and i was still a 3 60 so they told me to walk we did and basically after 4 hours nothing much had changed so they sent us home i wasn t surprised i was so tired and sick that i came home and napped for 3 hours when i woke up i was having regular contractions about 6 8 minutes apart so we put kids to bed had greg s dad come over to babysit and left around 8 30 for round 2 they wanted to keep me for 4 hours to monitor me again but i said if i hadn t done anything in 2 i was going home to sleep i was still a 3 60 when getting there but after walking for 20 minutes i was a 4 and super soft the nurse asked when i wanted me epidural and silly me asked her if they were keeping me and if i was in real labor haha she said of course you are i wouldn t give you an epidural and send you home so it was time ready or not oh i was so ready i wasn t going to get the epidural because once my water breaks i have the baby in 30 minutes or less by this time it was right around midnight and my doctor yes she was the one on call yay had had a long day and said she was going to wait a little bit to break my water so i said well lets get the epidural and see if it works this time so around 1 30am i got the epidural and it worked for the most part just not on my right side much greg got some much needed rest and i tried to rest in between contractions at 5 30am i felt a pop and just like that my water had broke i have always had to have my water broke for me so this was a new sensation i immediately woke greg up we got the nurse in there and said this baby will be here soon they only sort of believed us and waited to call the doctor after 5 minutes of my water breaking i knew it was the end of the epidural for good all the other pregnancies have resulted in an epidural that just doesn t work after my water breaks and this one was just the same the pain came in full force good bye lovely epidural hello pain but this pain i could handle because i knew it had an end i knew that the end result was going to be amazingly awesome the nurse finally decided to check me around 5 55am and said whoa there is the baby i said yeah i could have told ya that haha so they finally called the doctor she got there and i pushed twice and she was here 6 minutes later it was amazing and painful tearing but oh so worth it and just like that the nausea was gone another plus was that i never threw up during labor this time at that moment our family changed forever we added another life to our growing and changing lives we are so proud to call her our daughter and sister we love you addison welcome to the family
