cliffbee com transformer toy reviews gobot ironhide cliffbee com gobot ironhide toy review home individual review name ironhide series generation 2 allegiance autobot function military strategist alternate mode pickup truck car mode height 2 5cm length 7 5cm width 3cm a silver pickup truck with black windows and front headlights because that way no one can see him coming aside from chromed silver wheels and black tyres he s all silver and black in fact nice simple and considering some of his contemporaries soundwave springs to mind ironhide s got a fairly good colour scheme if not terribly identifiable with the old red van from g1 it s a fairly good truck mode for it s size with larger back wheels than front making him a souped up truck i suppose which i m sure ironhide would appreciate he can actually stow his gun in his tray although i wouldn t recommend it in ironhide since the tray s paint could scratch the shiny silver is painted over a matte silver plastic base released about 6 months after motormouth ironhide is technically a recolour as with all gobots ironhide has two axles and rolls quite well on them and is sized to fit hot wheels or similar tracks transformation to robot mode pretty simple pull down the rear to form the legs fold down the hood to form the chest pull out the arms robot mode height 7cm width 4cm whilst the silver is still prominent it s been joined by a rather garish purple on his shins and shoulderblades and an also rather bright blue head shoulders and blue thighs the silver s still there on his chest and arms his face is painted yellow not as horrible as a lot of g2 toys but his colour scheme is much better in truck mode the chest which is the front of the truck sticks out quite noticeably and can get in the way of him standing up there s a mix of black blue and purple plastics on his shoulderblades which i suppose forms something of a feature it also helps deny either the purple or blue the chance to dominate the colour scheme which is a good thing i don t hate this colour scheme but motormouth s colours are better and they came out at about the same time the silver paint does look nice the mould is okay although nothing special variations a repaint of motormouth who also got redone in robots in disguise as a character of the same name which saw quite a few variants overall a nice vehicle mode which is dragged down somewhat by an average robot mode with some bad colour choices if you like gobots it s certainly a reasonable toy if you want only one toy in this mould i d recommend either the rid spychanger or motormouth really i d only recommend him if you want the entire set since even if you re after a g2 gobot motormouth is a lot nicer 3 5 10 transformers and other indica trademarks of hasbro and or takara
