cliffbee com transformer toy reviews rollbar cliffbee com rollbar toy review home individual review name rollbar series generation 1 allegiance autobot function tracker alternate mode jeep cj7 thanks to jasen the jeep nut for the model jeep mode height 3 5cm length 7cm width 4cm a small army green jeep rollbar has a grey front bumper and a grey spare tyre on his back strictly speaking the majority of the cabin and the spare tyre should be a soft black plastic but for a 6 toy i can let it go like all throttlebots he has white wheels and black rubber tyres he s got an autobot symbol on his roof either as a rubsign with indent or an autobot symbol sticker no indent the level of detail is actually pretty good most of the stuff you d hope for is there the lights grill door and even the air vents in front of the windshield the front windscreen and door windows are sticker with the top halves being sky blue which fades towards the top and the bottom half an ochre colour the rear windows which would be plastic do not have this reflection i like these stickers aside from the ochre colour placing him in central australia it shows someone was thinking about what they were doing when they designed rollbar rollbar s play value in car mode is the pullback motor as well as the rubber tyres he s got front and rear axles and a pretty powerful pullback motor he ll happily roll for 10 metres 30 feet on a hard floor and will roll straight or close to it one thing about throttlebots though once you ve bent an axles that s it he ll veer to one side for the rest of his existence it s somewhat lacking in colour but the windshield motif works for me and the sculpt impresses me a good pullback vehicle transformation to robot mode fold up the sides to become the arms fold the rear and cabin up fold the rear itself down to reveal the head push in the rear wheels that s it robot mode height 6 5cm width 5 5cm still basically green rollbar has a grey head as well as grey toes thanks to the front bumper his face is yellow and has good detail for a throttlebot rollbar s head is a lot rounder and deeper than most throttlebots but it s also taller and wider so it looks a little big like all throttlebots his legs are about 5mm long his arms are panels on the sides of his body with fingers moulded into them and his feet are a solid block with the wheels sticking out the back oh and he has a hood formed from the rear of the car behind his head ok not the best proportions in fact they suck but that s not the point of a throttlebot is it rollbar has no poseability in this mode at all his play value is in the pullback motor sticking out behind his feet the pullback mechanism works equally well in this mode allowing you to send rollbar through your kitchen face first into the cupboard hours of fun when you re six years old if you like poseability and detail this isn t a robot mode you ll like the colours are unified the grey and yellow both work with the green that makes up about 90 of rollbar s robot mode but the real point of this mode as with the car mode is the pullback gimmick which works very well variations there s the original with rubsign and indent and the classic with no indent and a straight autobot logo sticker neither is really superior to the other although the classic wasn t released in north america or japan i have both overall the jeep has a good sculpt and the outback stickers are cool but the plastic roof should really have been black the overall look is good though the robot mode is somewhat lacking but the point of rollbar is the pullback mechanism if you like the gimmick you ll like rollbar but if you re not after play value i wouldn t really recommend rollbar 6 5 10 transformers and other indica trademarks of hasbro and or takara
