some kind of relationship with this thing siphoning its power or he might be soaking mine maybe it is time to recreate the whole room and make a nice garden with waterfalls wow does have its dark side i made another control panel right in the middle of the room i thought too much and then i thought can there be too much when decorating i tipped a white beam on its edge and it was at forty nine degrees that was now my number when tipping the carpets rugs filigree lamp void orb and swirling pedestal on the back i put another nightborne wall shelf to fill in the decoration and make it seem more here is a closer view and you d know that i pushed two elven windows into the beam to give it some internal light and backlight everything too much i added a rug not carpet to the wall and made a design with the filigree lamps and more void orbs i did not add a window behind because i didn t want the rugginess of the thing it was just a pattern holder and those orbs spin you ll notice that i m on my vulpera because she is shorter and not in the way and two void braziers to block the way or warn visitors that this is dangerous stuff finally to balance the room i added two of the swirling pedestals at maximum scale and pushed them into the floor finally in my last blog post i noticed in the screenshot that one suramar sconce was lower than the other so now they are even and tight and having fun with housing my reason to be they say it better in france is that my role is as an explorer my house is used to display trophies and more from my many adventures in azeroth and other worlds it is also a recruiting area where i try to show off to others so that they will join me or fund me on my next adventure a long time ago i read charming little fantasy trilogy called the riddle master of hed i loved those books well early on in the story the sister discovers that her brother his hiding a king s crown under his bed so now that my house is at level nine and i have more area to play with including a staircase i thought what if i had a demon hiding in my upper rooms maybe instead of only trophies and statues and chests of gold and prizes maybe i d captured a demon and brought him home such a scary thing should be hidden don t you think and really i d better be good at keeping it contained he s an ugly dude the demon is the eye of acherus a decor piece from the pit of saron the four golden wards are netherlights and the wards that look like balls are void orbs the control panel to the left has two night elf shelves at the top and bottom to frame the panel the squares come from three tables pushed into the wall it is an ornate table from iron forge and it cost 600g each so beware the spinning knobs are swirling ritual pedestals plus as kamalia noted we can push windows into walls again so the whole control panel is backlit with the elven foral window and let me tell you it makes it look so much better the control panel to the right of the wards has the same things as the control panel to the left except that these are scaled up and there is an ochre window pushed in there to give it some warmth and contrast yeah that is one nasty demon and i think that you ll agree that some strong magical wards are needed to keep him safely put away i think that this is a fun idea and i hope that you do too wow housing the floating house april 18 2026 wrathofkublakhan 1 comment there is plenty to say about it the big deal is that players started floating their houses and blizzard to the shock of us all allowed it with good cheer and they cheerfully didn t solve the problems that come with it mainly that there is no bottom to your house you have to fill it with something because it looks really really bad without a filler most people put wooden platforms sections and that works just fine some stuff their house into a large tree which can look really cool on a whim i decided to try it and solve it my own way and see if it works dunno if it works yet so far this is about a forty five minute effort and it was fun my original idea and probably the best one was to raise my house about waist high and put a trellis or two and some plants around the edges to mask the floating and no one could peek under the skirts so to speak and then build some steps up using beams and so on but again on a whim i pushed it up pretty high and then flipped some void fountains to cover my bottom blush and they are all magical and void like which is kind of fun i put some of those spinning books under there for a bit of movement too the thing that does work are the mechagon safety cables that have a spark running up or down i chose sparks up these are a nightmare to use big time they are really just a curved black line so you have to move your camera all around and get bummed when you find one later sticking out it is supposed to look like the cables keep my house from floating away i used the conclave pedestal for anchors here is a screenshot lookup up from under you can see how void like and odd that it is and you can see the flipped and scaled void fountains that are masking the bottom and to complete the tour you can see the bottoms of the void fountains make great platforms to put a few things on maybe a banner or potted plant this is clearly something that is absurd does it work i don t know right now i m trying to make it work and very willing to let it go it sure is fun to try come on over and take a look three minutes of your time i ll keep at it for a while but really i ll eventually go back to my waist high idea with some nifty plants and a trellis or two and if you really want to ask where are the stairs how do i get up there i m ready with my line you get flying at level 10 wow decor cobblestones as shelves april 14 2026 wrathofkublakhan 4 comments we like it right using an item for something different than it s intended use can be the fun part of decorating in wow i wasn t snooping i was doing research i saw someone sticking cobblestones into walls quite a while ago and then i remembered then i used it myself and then now it is part of my arsenal your choice always but we do have light colored stones for light colored walls and dark colored stones for dark colored walls it is pretty amazing i think that you ll agree just how much things work out just fine in this design system you can put a giant tree in your house and it can look really good i like the shelves that we have in our inventory mostly wood and nice with bolts and chains or smooth surfaces these cobblestones are great if you want to put out one single thing like a candle or you could make an array and design your own display wall i have to be careful i can push that stone into a wall and set a candle or coffee cup or book and walk away without trying to spin the stone or scaling it these are the little details the accents if you want and i can t let myself get lazy but instead get steeped into the process wow decor cosmic kettle april 12 2026 april 12 2026 wrathofkublakhan 3 comments sometimes i find a little piece of decor that i think is charming and i want to put it everywhere today i d like to shout to the heavens about the terrific cosmic kettle it is a standout piece because it is made of a reflective metal and so it will be seen easily it is from the quartermaster in the voidspire i think that the cost is 150 marl i bought one a while ago and put it on the shelf and admired it every time i walked by it now i have a lot more of the currency and i bought several this might be the best screenshot look at how the kettle stands out with its reflective surface it s a beauty on this table setting here it is in a darker area stealing attention here is a closer look sitting next to its partner the cosmic chalice which is not nearly as spectacular i ve not put any lighting on this kettle it is doing its own work here at the bottom left you can see this kettle setting a compositional anchor point to april 10 2026 wrathofkublakhan 4 comments it is fun to find a new decor piece and explore possibilities i keep calling this a new fountain but it was in the game so new to me how is that late into the night i did two more follower dungeon runs to get two more fountains this works i was stoked to see how well the top bulb took light one single candle and the whole thing took on a glow in this one i scaled the whole thing way up it is now my second stairwell fountain the next thing to try would be to scale it way down and make some tiny little thing tucked in a spot but after seeing the other fountain with its sheet of water this is terrific and i could jam the whole thing into the wall and hide the source leaving just the falling water exposed i tried one outside it doesn t work not really i didn t spend too much time because it wasn t working very well but i tried the window is too bright and i want to try masking the window with an elegant drape but i am right up against my decor budget and deleting other carefully place items the sacrifice isn t worth it but it is worth sharing a screen shot as part of the journey this new to me fountain as a decor piece takes a little april 10 2026 wrathofkublakhan 3 comments the other night i got a small parade of people in my house it started with my explaining how to do a window treatment to one of our guildies and people on discord said i want to see that as you can imagine i spent time showing how to flip windows and stack them and then in my case pushing some plant clusters behind the windows you ve done this i also showed how to push a fountain into the wall while we were on tour we came across this fountain it is very pretty and all lit up and fun one of those in our group a tank for our raid and a woman said i m not really into the girly things what a sec does that mean that i am what was she suggesting i m still laughing about it so anyways my house is now 9 and i have a lot of room s to decorate and i m still deciding what to do and i did a follower dungeon called the blinding vale just to collect another one of those girly fountains and i have stairs now for the moment at least and pushed my new fountain into the corner and down and i think that it works i pushed it down to skip the base i added the flipped woolen rug to make water and so on take a look it was amazing to my girly brain that the high cup that starts the flow of water fit like it was a natural thing on the wall here is a view from the stairs looking down it needs a little work but the concept is there i have a boralus area here is a before and after screenshot adding one bottle lamp these things have to be tinkered with in this case i scaled it up some but i feel that i need some masking piece to hide the source maybe a little clamshell two tiny lamps make for a wonderful warm and inviting entrance to my home i put three on the platform for the gryphon roost whatever this thing is it got one single light and now it has an accent for this piece stuck in a corner i put a tiny one way up on top of the flagpole that sits on top of my house finally one on a table that warms up the area right when you show up at the cornerstone i do spend a lot of time running back and forth trying to see what that first impression will look like in all i m pretty happy with this our outside was looking pretty dark and yeah that is the theme of the area the challenge i feel is that using these accent lights might make the yard look spotty odds are that i ll be moving these around a lot and trying to find a good
