physical works like i really appreciate everyone thats asked or inquired ty for wanting to support i appreciate it from the bottom of my heart but this is my hobby and i love it to bits to keep loving making art thats healing idk u guys im just not a hussler i am a simple potato who likes to stab the cloth if you want some great needlepainting patterns check out emillie ferris on etsy she does some amazing nature inspired patterns shes also got tuts for how to needlepaint i think lemonpepperstudio on insta also sells some sweet stuff stitchingsabbatical on insta has a whole book that looks great mossandfeather on insta also has courses etc theres probably so many more i dont know of yet but also you dont need courses to just draw on some cloth and grab some thread and go youtubes got great free stuff i bet 110 notes may 23 2021 alt alt found this rad old bedsheet while thrifting and knew it was gonna make something great this pattern is the sport shorts by friday pattern company its completely free but u can throw some their way too and ive been wanting to make them for a while i made some mods as well lenthened the hem 2 inches scooped the top of the front shorts that gets sewn to the waistband by an inch towards the center front to tilt the waistband so it sits below my stomach i also created a front pocket facing not actually sure what the pattern peice should be called to make pocket bags instead of having a patch pocket i like how pocket bags hold chunky items like car keys better finally added a patch pocket to the right butt a nessesity for my phone this makes it sound like a lot but they were all very easy mods overall and made the most comfy shorts just in time for a heatwave im gonna live in these all week or longer sewing textiles shorts 101 notes jun 30 2026 alt alt alt alt my linen quilt is finished this was made from all leftover linen from garments i ve made i always get way too much yardage whoops except the black i was planning on using the black for garment things but then i had this quilt idea so pivoted this was a beast but im so so happy with how it turned out shes very moody it was machine pieced but hand quilted i really fell in love with hand quilting while making this throwing on an audio book and just sewing for 3ish hours in the evenings was lovely and calming and if you ever want to quilt with linen spray starch is your best friend lots of spray starch also a lil banner i whipped up after from an extra repeat block i had quilt quilting hand quilting fiber arts fiber craft linen dont zoom in on the first pic of the that before but then i zoomed in on the leaves on the shirt and you re just that good at highlights that s amazing i aspire to be that good one day no your first thought is right the embroidery threads are shiney and do catch the light differently doing a lot of heavy lifting for shading dmc brand their normal 6 stranded floss its cotton but has this lovely sheen to it i did some highlights and shading in the upper leaves of the goldenrod but none in the lower ones i kinda faded it out as i went what i do in all my embroidery is use those shiney threads and the directions of my stitches to my benefit as the stitches flow with the leaf and curve the light will naturally hit them differently and create absolutely lovely highlights and shadows its one of those things i wish was easier when worn and how that inturrupted the lines of the plant it was much easier to tack it down fully its been so nice to be able to wear this finally i got it done in time for canadian thanksgiving and
