corey decided to have everyone come to our house for thanksgiving dinner and then watch movies that night and have a sleep over then in the morning everyone will go to breakfast and go shooting together so we have a lot of preparation work to do our guest room is currently full of random stuff we re going to clean it out get some furniture and turn it into a nice guest room yay do any of you 2010 hello again i have been doing pretty good with my new years resolutions so far be a better friend a run two half marathons a i already did two and will do my 3rd before the end of the year not worry when the volume is on an odd number a read the bom and write about it in a journal d keep my blog updated d be more stylish b drastically improve my golf score c the reason i m writing about this is because i ve been terrible with my blogging resolution so here i go again let s see how long i can keep on top of posting i thought i d share a few corey quotes with you guys i ve been preparing really healthy meals for us lately and the other day i was going to dinner and the temple with a friend so i pre made corey s dinner weighing out the ounces of protein and veggies the whole healthy nine yards i told him where to find everything and exactly what to eat on the way home i called and asked him how dinner was and he says well i couldn t find the brocolli so i ate a chocolate bar instead typical corey then yesterday he started eating halloween candy and potato chips at 9pm and i told him he shouldn t be eating so late and he says but i m washing it all down with diet coke as if that makes it ok and why is it that when corey knows he s in trouble he just starts to do the robot and dance his way out of it i just can t give him a piece of my mind when he s doing that he cracks me up this pic is from a fundraiser we went to last month my last post was about triathlons i tried it out even did a triathlon length at the lake with friends a couple of times but i realized that i really don t like the biking part i m terrified of going fast i just ride the brakes all downhill so i decided to do the pumpkinman triathlon relay style and i just did the 6 2 mile run portion a schedule to lift weights 2 times a week swim 2 times a week bike 2 times a week run at least 2 times a week and we have 2 rest days so far we ve kept on track and it has been very fun i did a mock triathlon on saturnday at lake mead which was a lot of fun but really hot i ve done 2 half marathons this year and amy and i want to do anathor one before the end of the year and possibly do a full marathon sometime soon yikes i added a training widget to the blog which is through a website i use to track my workouts the website is called dailymile com i really like the website i m in had to post something 1 i don t like to use my a c in my car during the summer in vegas because i love the sauna feeling i also melt anyone that drives with me in the winter with my heater 2 after i almost drowned in the ocean 10 years ago i had a severe fear of water specifically waves i m talking even the waves in a pool splashes or at the lake i m still nervous about waves in the ocean but have graduated to boogie boarding not far from the shore 3 i ve looked up flights to new orleans just to visit the bourbon house for their chocolate bread pudding corey and i had it on a trip to new orleans and would fly back just to have it again i ve actually called the restaurant and asked them if they can mail me some they said no 4 a year and a half ago i couldn t even run ¼ mile and thought runners were crazy now i try to run 10 miles week 5 i can hold my own in call of duty 4 some of corey s friends don t like that very much because they hope i m an easy kill 6 i m the only one in my family with green eyes not blue 7 i have an addiction to lotion i won t go to the restroom unless i know i ll have lotion nearby for after i wash my hands corey knows that red alert lotion means my lotion is not where i thought it was and he needs to assist in locating it stat 8 i can t handle the volume being on an odd number i have to change it to even which stinks sometimes when 14 is too quiet and 16 is too loud 9 i wish i was a natural beauty but unfortunately i love mac 10 a family of deer surprised me by the road in cedar city ut and i panicked and locked the doors 11 i have listened to just dance by lady gaga blaring loud set on an even number of course on my way to the gym and work in the mornings for the past 2 weeks i just set it to repeat and yes i just dance in my car while i sing along it wakes me up 12 i try to visit my nephew carson every day jill only lives a mile away and he is so dang cute 13 i can t stand peanut butter and jelly sandwiches 14 i am terrified of adults crawling on hands and feet and any airplane flying over me when i hear an airplane corey grabs my hand and tells me it will be ok i think they will crash into me 15 corey and i recently did a weight loss program through a naturopathic dr i lost 15 lbs in 2 months and corey lost 20 lbs in 1 month our before and after pictures are now on the brochures for the program that part is really embarrassing but hey the program works the really great part is that there were no crazy diet pills or weird meals just eating healthier so we took a month off and ate bad but didn t gain anything back it s a solid 15 20 lbs lost 16 i can pop my ears without yawning corey thinks i m a natural born scuba diver 17 don t give me flowers i destroy them if i have a flower in my hand i just have to take it apart every little piece 18 my guilty pleasures are one tree hill in n out and a soft sugar cookie mmmmmmmmmm 19 i had the same exact dream about 20 different times growing up 20 i fractured my foot about a year and a half ago trying to jump over my couch while running from corey and landing on the tile all wrong 21 i m horrible with names i can only tell you 5 of my teachers names from kindergarten through senior year 22 the last time i spoke in church i literally almost passed out and couldn t speak apparently i have a problem with speaking in public 23 i can t stand it family i thought it was cute so i decided to post it hey y all of all the christmas traditions perhaps none is more strictly adhered to than that of sending out annual family newsletters wherein parents make their gang of lunk heads look like all stars so prior to penning the rave reviews that follow for each of our family members we want you to know that life has its challenges for each of us and that every family including the stephensons deals with failures and heartaches mixed in with the high points we are grateful to have such wonderful family and friends to keep us going when things are tough and to rejoice with us when things work out well for any of us now on to some highlights audrey is a senior at canyon view high school and is quite involved in the drama department this past spring audrey played the hilarious role of miss skillen in the british farce see how they run and in the fall she was a wicked step sister in the rodgers and hammerstein musical cinderella she recently landed the role of lady capulet in romeo and juliet she was part of the school drama team that took state and she received overall superiors for her monologues in region and in state she is one of two actors selected from her school to audition at utah theater association for college scholarships she founded the first improv club at her school and is active in journalism she is easy to spot in cedar city as she drives her classic orange 77 vw beetle license plate pumpkin all over town she was awarded her young women s medallion this year rachel was student body president for canyon view high school in 07 08 and was a featured speaker at her high school graduation ceremonies she won the principal s leadership award for 2008 and a leadership scholarship to southern utah university rachel was one of six local students chosen to go to washington d c to meet with utah congressional representatives to discuss substance abuse among young people rachel also was employed this summer by the cedar city police department in sting operations targeting illegal sales of alcohol to minors she has some wild tales to tell including a hilarious episode involving her attempt to order an alcoholic drink in a restaurant only to discover that the manager was a woman in our ward who came over to the table and started railing on the would be alcoholic as rachel tried to communicate with the undercover cop abort abort abort the police officer explained the situation to the manager restored rachel s good girl reputation and congratulated the manager for her integrity rachel and audrey spent two weeks of the summer on a church history american heritage tour back east and as always had a ball together in august rachel and wes took a 3200 mile ride on grandpa s old red harley davidson taking in the california coastal highway and yosemite national park rachel auditioned for and won a part in the radio city music hall s christmas spectacular starring the rockettes she has two roles in the show where she sings dances and utters a few lines of dialog she flew to new york in september to begin rehearsals and since early november has been touring the midwest along with a cast and crew of 290 she will return in january just in time for spring semester at suu she also was awarded her young women s medallion in 2008 mitch continues to serve faithfully as a full time missionary for the lds church in the canada toronto west mission his leaders report to us that they love big elder stephenson he is 6 4 and he in turn loves serving the people of canada he has held leadership and training positions and has served in nearly every region of his mission mitch returns home december 20th our favorite christmas present of all trent spent 2008 plowing through his university studies working all he can and fishing for co eds so far it has been catch and release trent spent the summer selling pest control contracts in the bay area and earned awards for his performance even as a rookie he transferred to utah state university in logan for the fall semester and is now transferring back to suu to sp...
