craftivation 2020 saturday october 24 2020 fabrika decoru dt call 2021 hello i m fairuz fabiha a 20 years old resident of bangladesh and a student of architecture who loves paper crafting card making scrapbooking and doing mixed media art i also have the experience in designing chipboard cutouts for one my design teams i m currently working as a designer for the robin s nest craftreat and lisa horton crafts design team but my terms with craftreat and robin s nest will end this december fabrika decoru has and will always have a very special place in my heart because i started my mixed media journey with their products not only i fell in love with their products but it made me fall in love with mixed media art too their versatile range of products are what you need to satisfy your cravings as a mixed media artist i think i would be a good fit for the fabrika decoru team because i m a team player a passionate crafter and i always take my work seriously and nevertheless i love fairuzfabiha justine hovey watercolor youtube saturday may 23 2020 spring bloom hello crafty friends fairuz fabiha here from craftivation today i ll be sharing with you a fun project where i have used stencil on fabric to create a simple but vibrant wall hanging home decor it s a very beautiful sunflower patterned stencil and the possibilities are endless to create with it i ve used it many times on papers and mdfs but for today i wanted to try something different and hence i decided to work on fabric process at first i took a piece of textured white fabric and tightly framed it to a sewing hoop then i placed the spring bloom stencil over it and attached it with some masking tapes to keep it in place then i started applying colors over i m not good with paintings and for that reason painting always stressed me out but using the stencil for painting the flowers made the process very easy and therapeutic i really enjoyed doing it this way after i was done with the flowers i colored the background in green i let the whole background dry perfectly then i wrote hope over it with bronze metallic paint and outlined it with black and white voila the beautiful wall hanging home decor 7 2020 home alone inspired layout hello craftivators hope you re all safe and sound today i m back again with another fun project i ll be sharing with you a funny home alone themed mixed media layout as i m back home because of this lockdown and unable to do some craft shopping i ve very little amount of supplies with me but that didn t stop me from crafting i looked for a some pictures in the newspaper and hit the jackpot when i found this cute photo of kevin from home alone hence i decided to use it as the focal point every element of the layout starting from the striped paper in background to the flowers are made out of scratch home alone is one of my most favorite movies ever and i ve watched it innumerable times as much as i find this movie very funny i find the movie very inspiring too i ve learnt no matter how much you re underestimated you can still make a great difference to your surroundings with your boldness intelligence and positive vibes that s why i decided to use the sentiment make a difference i was also inspired by the lovely moodboard of the more than words challenge for the funny element i decided to add the funny photo of kevin and for the stripes i with you how i create a simple home decor using mixed media i got inspired by my life and current situations to create today s piece being a student of architecture i have to work intensively for hours some nights i don t even get the chance to sleep my work load have increased to a great extent since i m working from home in this quarantined time sometimes it gets a bit to overwhelming and depressing for me and i start regretting my decisions but the very next moment i realize that at least i m privileged enough to get to choose the subject i wanted to study do what i love have a secured place to shelter myself in this time of distress and have my loved ones support me for no matter what rather than overthinking about everything i should be grateful and happy for everything i have and believe there s a moment of joy in every day this was my dt project for the splashymix challenge their amazing moodboard inspired me to choose the colors blue and brown for this project i also got inspired by the lovely moodboard of the more than word s challenge i always love birds when i m all awake till dawn the chirping sounds of the birds cutting through the silence always amuses this extremely tough time i ve quarantined myself from last week as my classes got suspended that actually left me a lot of time to spend for myself and think about what s going on in our lives this time of crisis also taught me that every negative things has a positive impact on our lives too thinking about the positive sides of this terrible time i realized how much this world needed a break from us humans and how much us humans needed a break from the outside world we really needed a break from all those extra office hours sleepless nights trying to complete our assignments morning alarms traffic jams and what not now that i ve got all the time for myself i started appreciating every little thing around me a little more than i used to and realized how much we were missing out as we were busy running for unrealistic goals whereas there s a moment of joy in every day so this is what i chose for today s sentiment for today s project i ll be sharing with you a mixed media altered hoop i got inspired by the different memories i shared with my family to create today s project my grandma first introduced me to sewing hoops when i was a little girl and gave me one as gift i ve kept that for many years now but recently after seeing it again i got this idea of altering a sewing hoop so here it is i got inspired by my mum to add the photos of the desserts as she loves making fairuzfabiha mtw_challenge sunday march 15 2020 mixed media bookmark hi crafty friends fairuz fabiha here from craftivation today i m back again with a technique of using the amazing robin s nest dewdrops i ll be showing you how i used these mini dewdrops to not only embellish my project but also add texture on the background using the dewdrops for my today s project i ve decided to make an mdf bookmark step by step process 1 at first i took an mdf tag by lisa horton crafts as the base of my bookmark 2 applied a layer of fabrikadecoru resist texture paste through the maze stencil by lisa horton crafts 3 added mini dew drops by the robin s nest all around the edges of the bookmark and applied a layer off gesso to prime the surface 4 applied layers of spray paints by fabrikadecoru 5
