creative friends julie here today i love it when i have an excuse to play with my artsy supplies this time i did some die cutting stamping and of course painting i started out cutting out a bunch of poinsettia like looking flowers with my big shot using watercolor paper here s what they looked like some of them had a stamp set to match so i stamped them before i die cut them it s easier to line everything up that way then i started painting them using colors that would make them look like a poinsettia here s what they looked like painted i used garnet one of december s sale colors evergreen also on sale at 33 off and green olive then it was time to put it all together here s what i created with these flowers this 5 1 2 x 4 1 4 inch card was made for the friend who gave me those two beautiful stick pins she made me a whole bunch of beautiful beaded stick pins just like these two i thought the least i could do was return the favor with a card when assembling this card i used the rule of threes using 3 poinsettias clusters 3 leaves and even 3 red rhinestones here s a close up of the poinsettias and beaded stick pins for more details about the supplies used on this card please december 14 2013 have a great weekend hello my fabulous friends i m so glad you stopped by today i know i usually have a tutorial for you on the 2nd saturday of the month but i m unfortunately today it just isn t happening i hurt my arm and crafting has been rather difficult this week sorry so instead let me wish you a fabulous weekend full of color sparkle inspiration and joy also don t forget poinsettia only 14 days left until christmas and the hustle and bustle of the season is upon us as we rush about please try and remember what the holiday means to you the special moments the love and the reason for the season enjoy darsie i created the background for my card using garnet evergreen and winter frost paints i first die cut my poinsettia in various sizes with copy paper and laid them onto my white cardstock i used low tack tape to secure them so that they wouldn t move as i painted the background with a paintbrush i added winter frost first then dabbed lightly with garnet and evergreen until i was pleased with the results once the paint was dry i removed the copy paper poinsettias and stamped with a poinsettia stamp using red ink in the stenciled areas each 1st monday we will be sharing 4 creative inspiration paint colors of the month and those colors will be on sale for the entire month at 33 off of the original price for this month the colors for december are garnet winter frost tuesday december 10 2013 christmas advent cip style hello and happy tuesday tina here today i realize that the christmas countdown has already started but if you haven t started your countdown to the big day or if you are looking for ideas for next year today i d like to show you my version of a christmas advent cip style i wanted to create an easy and quick way to celebrate that yearly christmas countdown to start you will need 25 white coin envelopes available at your local office supply store your favorite stamp cip embossing powder in green and red embossing ink cip paint in green and red countdown numbers i used number circle stickers from pretty little studio festive holiday paper and your favorite scalloped punch several christmas die cuts i used several from pretty little studio and an advent frame mine is a silhouette frame from several years ago step one heat emboss coin envelopes with stamp and cip embossing powder step two using water downed cip paint apply a wash of color to each envelope step three cut envelope in 1 2 and punch open edge with fancy scallop punch staple countdown number to outside of envelope step four add countdown present to each envelope i typed up small sentiments and added to each envelope step five hang daily envelopes and christmas die cuts on advent calendar enjoy the great thing about creating this advent calender is
