kinkade cardmaking pads friday january 26 2018 joanna sheen s 15th anniversary tv show samples joanna sheen has been with create and craft for 15 years this week time does fly by i remember watching her very first show on ideal world selling beautiful pressed flowers to celebrate the occasion joanna had some wonderful bargains throughout the 4 shows which resulted in almost total sell outs congratulations joanna i made some of the samples that were shown over both of the days shows i will be adding the samples over the weekend to start with below are the samples i made using the new signature dies fairy door dies i designed these 3 fairy doors for joanna all the little flowers were cut from printed pages from the holly pond hill cd rom i made 3 little toadstall shapes added the doors and then a piece of folded card lifts each of them like an easel along the path which was cut out pieces of card stuck down to look like paving with a little glitter lol the plastic bubble here is a recycled piece of packaging left over from christmas tree chocolate hanging decorations i used circle dies to make the portal shape adding gems i die cut the fairy door a few times colouring one brown for the wood and one from black card and paper pieced them together the door has a view beyond a picture printed form the holly pond hill cd and i made the little sign and wrote secret garden using white gel pen i used moss around the edges i coloured a piece of a4 card using distress oxide ink pads i smudged the ink onto the craft mat then spritzed it with water and dragged the white card through it quite a few times drying it off before each layer of ink once it was dry i die cut each of the doors twice out of the sheen and swapped the doors of each over to create the rainbow looking doors i did have to add a bit more ink using dry foam to add a deeper colour on the surrounds i used some rainbow ribbon from my stash along the top of the landscape a5 card thanks for visiting posted dies fairy doors sunday january 7 2018 art nouveau card i made this card using the latest dies that i designed for joanna sheen i folded and cut the centre step card adding the black panels each side and the border i used a green and pink patterned a4 card sheets then i die cut the signature die hydrangea frame twice cutting out the pink hydrangeas to place over the top of the green ones the signature dancing lady die was cut out of the white pink and green card and then paper pieced together as you can see on the card the lovely signature art nouveau mirrored corners were cut from the green card as well as the happy birthday i had to add some bling to the card so there are pearls in the middle of each hydrangea and tiny ones for the necklace on the cameo lady and lots of very launched on create and craft on the 13th october j ust gone but life got in the way anyway here i am with the samples i made for the show here are 3 samples i made with the free gifts with the new thomas kinkade joanna sheen magazine special the first card uses one of the lovely images and the other 3 are using the stamps the next 2 were made using the new barbara anderson cardmaking pad the next four cards i made using the new evgeny lushpin cardmaking pads 1 2 finally these last 3 cards i made using the lovely jane shasky perfect poppies card making pad along with the new joanna sheen weekend joanna launched some new dies on the weekender over on c c i made lots of samples for the shows i will be showing the card samples i made over the next few days the first lot are featuring the new tea in the garden signature dies from joanna sheen this shows the flowers for containers signature die in the hanging basket along with the tea for two signature die and the cake stand die i die cut the tea for two 3 times so that i could layer the colours up with the tea pot and cups cut out from pretty paper the table cloth shows the tessa lace edger die the background is the second blot or print taken from a very bright distress oxide background i made i placed another piece of card over it to take off the excess which wasn t enough so i blotted it again and actually liked that better than the original the beautiful image is from the new jane shasky garden delights card making pad from joanna sheen and the lovely wheelbarrow and watering can are new dies from joanna sheen i matt and layered image onto acetate i created the matching background using a sponge applicator with distress oxide inks peeled paint and twisted citron with a few water splots to take some colour away the watering and wheelbarrow die cut out of craft card and inked with antique linen distress oxide and sprayed to bring out the colour adding pencils when dry the image on this card is from the other new jane shasky card making pad called birds in the garden the garden corner signature die was coloured to match the image using distress oxide inks i cut the morning glory signature die multiple times from cream card and arranged around the outside of the image i think it created a faux embossed look i added a little piece of tulle to the top left corner behind the image i wanted some ribbon somewhere on this card but new it would be too much so went for the almost invisible look of tulle i think it has added a softness to the card if you look closely you will see that the trellis arch signature die has been repeated each side of the cream coloured one but with kraft card i cut off the top part to create the fence panels also using some of the waste to make the stepping stones the swing seat signature die has been cut 3 times to give a more 3d look once layered up i created the background for this image using oxide inks i inked with a sponge roughly where i wanted an impression of colours and then lightly sprayed it leaving it to dry the inks have a wonderful reaction when water is applied all the flowers for container flowers were die cut and dipped into the inks after adding some sprayed water leaving them to dry the background for the image has been done in the same way as the card above it i love how the inks give such a soft and yet vibrant look all in one the swing seat looks like it s in mid swing lol happy accident lol i really loved making this card the wonderful hanging basket is such a useful die on any card and the new flowers for container signature dies are perfect to fill the basket up the pretty blue flowers are the morning glory vine die that i have coloured in and cut up to add the the basket if you are interested to create a mossy basket i
