very definition of temptation appears to be delivered or could be delivered scripture does not say what we might want to think it to say but instead it says something like every man is tempted when from within by his own desires he is led and enticed james 1 14 this concurs with romans 7 where in the very place in scripture where the relationship between flesh law sin and death are also described and explained and rather than call it temptation although seeming to plainly explain its processes even bringing in adam and eve it simply describes it in terms of rom 7 5 sinful passions aroused by the law and 7 6 being a renewal of by the spirit nowhere in here romans 7 does the devil or temptation get a mention in this context maybe not in romans at all sorry i have not recently checked ageing memory so will leave that one open for the moment but to be called sons of god in this galatians context reveals the contrast between the old self and the new self and the seeming
